  • 본 논문에서는 다수의 저가형 웹캠(Web Cam)으로 촬영된 다각도의 다중 영상을 입력으로 받아 이들을 자연스럽게 연결하여 임의의 각도에서 물체의 모습을 관찰할 수 있도록 하는 ${\ulcorner}$다중 카메라 촬영 영상을 이용한 Object Movie 생성 기반 기술${\lrcorner}$을 제안한다. 기존 Object Movie 생성도구들이 다중의 이미지들을 스티칭(stiching)하기 위해 정확한 카메라의 위치와 방향을 요구하는 데 비해, 제안된 방법은 고가의 트랙장비를 사용하기 어려운 경우에 다수의 저가형 웹캠으로 촬영된 카메라의 위치와 방향을 보정하는 단계를 추가하여 트랙장비를 사용한 것과 같은 매끄러운 영상을 생성할 수 있도록 하였다.

Application of Light Collecting Probe with High Spatial Resolution to Spark-Ignited Spherical Spray Flames (불꽃점화 구형분무화염에서 고공간 분해능을 가진 집광프로브의 응용)

  • In order to obtain the flame Propagation speed in freely falling droplet suspension Produced by an ultrasonic atomizer, a light collecting probe named Multi-color Integrated Cassegrain Receiving Optics (MICRO) is applied to spark-ignited spherical spray flames. Two MICRO probes are used to monitor time-series signals of OH chemilumine-scence from two different locations in the flame. The flame propagation speed is calculated by detecting the arrival time difference of the propagating flame front. In addition, time-series images of OH chemiluminescence are simultaneously obtained by a high-speed digital CCD camera to ensure the validity of the MICRO system. Furthermore, relationship between the spray properties measured by phase Doppler anemometer (PDA) and the flame propagation speed are discussed with k different experimental conditions by changing the fuel injection rate. It was confirmed that the MICRO probe system was very useful and convenient to obtain the flame propagation speed and that the flame propagation speed was different depending on the spray properties.

  • The dynamic photoelastic technique has been utilized to investigate the possibility of relieving the large local singular stresses which are induce in the corner of a right angled indenter. The indenter compresses a semi-infinite body dynamically with an impact load applied on the top of the indenter. The effect of geometric changes to the indenter in terms of the diameter (d) and the location (ℓ) of the notch on the relieving of the dynamic contact stresses are investigated. A multi-spark-high speed camera with twelve sparks was used to take dynamic photographs. The contact singular stresses were found to be released by introducing the relief notch along the indenter. The optimal location and geometry of the relief notch need further experimental investigation.

  • The effect of turbulence and ignition energy on flame kernel growth in mathanol-air mixtures has been studied in a constant volume vessel. Experiments were made under different turbulent intensity conditions, ignition energy and over a range of equivalence ratio. Characteristics of turbulent flow were grasped by measurments of gas pressure and visualization of flame propagation. Flow velocity was measured by use of hot wire anemometer. A comparison of the effect of turbulence on ignition probability and flame kernel volume variation ratio is also presented.

  • The motion of a spinning table-tennis ball is investigated in both theory and experiment. The equation of motion of spinning table-tennis ball is made using aerodynamics and calculated by C++ program In theoretical part, gravity, drag force and lift force are regarded as main force. Velocity, angular velocity, mass and Drag and lift coefficients are considered as a independent variable. Experiments are made by a digital stroboscope, a digital camera and a mirror, and snap multi-exposed images were took as a dependent result In experimental part, both magnitude and direction of velocity and angular velocity are changed in each situation. The predicted three-dimensional trajectories of spinning balls are compared with experimental trajectories. As a result the theoretical trajectories were predicted within 10% of experimental trajectories.

다목적 위성 2호 MSC 영상 자료를 위한 검보정 target 준비

  • 본 논문에서는 다목적 위성 2호의 주 탑재체인 MSC (Multi-Spectral Camera)의 영상자료 검보정을 위한 검보정 target 준비 작업에 대해 설명한다. MSC 영상 자료에 대한 검보정 작업은 다목적 위성 2호의 발사 후 초기 운영 기간 (LEOP: Launch and Early Operation Phase)인 3개월 동안 수행될 예정이다. 위성 발사 전까지 MSC 영상 자료에 대한 검보정을 수행하기 위해 필요한 준비 작업들이 현재 한국항공우주연구원에서 진행중이다. LEOP 기간 동안 MSC 영상 자료를 검보정하기 위해서, MSC의 센서 특성에 따라 7가지 정도의 검보정 target에 대한 설계 초안이 완성되었으며, 향후 target에 대한 설계를 완성한 후에 2004년 중에 한 두 부지에 몇 가지 target들을 건설하고, 다목적 위성 2호의 궤도 특성을 고려하여 일부 target은 운반이 가능하도록 제작할 예정이다. 검보정 target이 촬영된 MSC 영상 자료의 분석을 통해, GSD (Ground Sample Distance), Aliasing, Linearity, Edge Slope & Response, MTF (Modulation Transfer Function), FOV & IFOV, Absolute radiometric validation, Position Accuracy 등의 MSC 검보정 요소 값들을 측정할 계획이다.

Accurate Vehicle Positioning on a Numerical Map

  • Nowadays, the road safety is an important research field. One of the principal research topics in this field is the vehicle localization in the road network. This article presents an approach of multi sensor fusion able to locate a vehicle with a decimeter precision. The different informations used in this method come from the following sensors: a low cost GPS, a numeric camera, an odometer and a steer angle sensor. Taking into account a complete model of errors on GPS data (bias on position and nonwhite errors) as well as the data provided by an original approach coupling a vision algorithm with a precise numerical map allow us to get this precision.

Color Enhancement in Images with Single CCD camera in Night Vision Environment

  • In this paper, we describe an effective method to enhance the color night images with spatio-temporal multi-scale retinex focused to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications such as in the single CCD based Electronic Toll Collection System (ETCS). The basic spatial retinex is known to provide color constancy while effectively removing local shades. However, it is relatively ineffective in night vision enhancement. Our proposed method, STMSR, exploits the iterative time averaging of image sequences to suppress the noise in consideration of the moving vehicles in image frame. In the STMSR method, the spatial term makes the dark images distinguishable and preserves the color information day and night while the temporal term reduces the noise effect for sharper and clearer reconstruction of the contents in each image frame. We show through representative simulations that incorporating both terms in the modeling produces the output sequential images visually more pleasing than the original dim images.

  • Virtual view synthesis is essential for 3DTV systems, which utilizes the motion parallax cue. In this paper, we propose a multi-step view synthesis algorithm to efficiently reconstruct an arbitrary view from limited number of known views of a 3D scene. We describe an efficient image rectification procedure which guarantees that an interpolation process produce valid views. This rectification method can deal with all possible camera motions. The idea consists of using a polar parameterization of the image around the epipole. Then, to generate intermediate views, we use an efficient dense disparity estimation algorithm considering features of stereo image pairs. Main concepts of the algorithm are based on the region dividing bidirectional pixel matching. The estimated disparities are used to synthesize intermediate view of stereo images. We use computer simulation to show the result of the proposed algorithm.

  • 운전자의 주의력 감쇠는 교통사고 요인에 있어서 큰 비중을 차지한다. 주의력 감쇠는 무선 통화, 기기 조작, 졸음으로 나타날 수 있는데 자동차 대형사고의 대부분은 졸음운전으로 인하여 일어나며, 졸음운전 시에는 운전자의 운전조작 및 방어 조작 능력이 현저하게 저하한다. 본 시스템은 카메라로부터 실시간으로 영상 데이터를 입력 받아 처리하여 운전자의 졸음 상태를 인식하는 시스템으로 운전자에게 졸음방지 기능을 제공한다. Haar-Like Feature cascade classifier 방법을 사용하여 얼굴 및 눈 영역 검출을 하였고 Open Eye, Closed Eye가 학습된 MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron)를 이용해 눈 깜박임을 인식하여 PERCLOS(Percentage of Eye Close)방법으로 졸음을 판단하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법의 인식률의 정확도를 검증하기 위해 인식률 테스트를 하였다.
