탑승자의 안전을 고려한 지능형 휠체어의 단일 이동 장애물 충돌회피 알고리즘 (Collision Avoidance Algorithm of an Intelligent Wheelchair Considering the User's Safety with a Moving Obstacle)

  • As the ageing population grows around the world, the demand for electric wheelchairs, an important mobility assistance device for the disabled and elderly, is gradually increasing. Therefore, a number of studies related to intelligent wheelchairs are actively underway to improve safety and comfort for wheelchair users. However, previous collision avoidance studies for intelligent wheelchairs have concentrated on collision avoidance methods with the shortest distance and by only changing either velocity or heading angle, rather than considering the forces exerted on the user. If a collision avoidance algorithm that does not consider these forces is applied to an intelligent wheelchair, there is a possibility of an accident due to falling as wheelchair users are generally disabled and elderly people. In this paper, we propose a collision avoidance algorithm which minimizes the forces exerted on a wheelchair user by minimizing the variation of the wheelchair's velocity and heading angle when the sizes, positions, velocities, and heading angles of a wheelchair and a moving obstacle are known.

Calculation of Anchor's Terminal Velocity in the Water and Onshore Dropped Heights Using MDM Technique

  • When an anchor is dropped into the sea, there exists a danger of collision on the pipeline and subsea cables in the seabed. This collision could cause huge environmental disasters and serious economic losses. In order to secure the safety of subsea structures such as pipelines and subsea cables from the external impact, it is necessary to estimate the exact external force through the anchor's terminal velocity on the water. FLUENT, a computational fluid dynamic program, was used to acquire the terminal velocity and drag coefficient computation. A half-symmetry condition was used in order to reduce the computational time and a moving deforming mesh technique also adapted to present hydrostatic pressure. The results were examined with the equation based on Newton's Second Law to check the error rate. In this study, three example cases were calculated by stockless anchors of 5.25 ton, 10.5 ton, and 15.4 ton, and for the onshore experiment dropped height was back calculated with the anchor's terminal velocity in the water.

운동매질내에서의 Circula Loop Antenna의 방사특성(II) (Radiation Characteristics of a Circular Loop Antenna in Moving Media.)

  • 본논문에서는 운동매질내에서 크기가 파장과 동등정도이거나 그 이상인 circular loop antenna의 방사특성을 전류분포가 정현파적인 경우에 대하여 고찰하였다. 고찰결과로는 방사특성이 매질속도의 영향을 받는다는 사실과 그 영향으로는 정지매질의 radiation pattern 과 비교하여 방사지향성이 loop antenna면에 평행인 매질속도성분에만 영향을 받고 수직성분속도에는 무관하며 radiation pattern의 최대지향성은 loop면에 평행인 속도성분방향으로 이동하고 이와 반대방향으로는 Pattern의 크기가 증가하게 된다. 또 이와 같은 운동매질의 영향은 매질속도도가 오고 전류주파수가 높을수록 antenna의 직경이 클수록 더욱 현저하게 된다는 사실을 알게 되었다.

Measurement of Distance and Velocity of Moving Objects using Single Camera Pseudo-Stereo Images

  • In this study, a new algorithm for measuring the velocity and distance from a camera to a moving object by using pseudo-stereo images obtained from a single camera with a stereo adapter is proposed. The proposed system is similar to a parallel visual stereo system using a two-camera system, but because this system can obtain pseudo-stereo images form a single camera, it has advantages not only in the aspect of cost but also in stereo conformity by arrangement and the calibration of the left and right stereo cameras upon image processing.

  • This paper concerns, the method for velocity of dynamic Image on two dimensional sequence Image which can be obtained from two sample lines on the street. The velocity of a single moving object Is measured by the number of total frame which Is required when an automobile passes over the second sample line through the first sample line. The measured results show that the velocity error Is less than 5% comparing with the value measured by X-band speed gun.

  • The x-ray micro-imaging technique was employed to measure the size and velocity of micro-bubbles moving in an opaque tube simultaneously. Phase contrast images were obtained at interfaces of micro-bubbles between water and air due to different refractive index. Micro-bubbles of $20\~120{\mu}m$ diameter moving upward in an opaque tube $(\phi=2.7mm)$ were tested. For two different working fluids of tap water and DI water, the measured velocity of micro-bubbles is roughly proportional to the square of bubble size.

  • Frequency of cavity vibration in air flowing tube is closely related to a velocity of air. In this research, an instrumentation system to estimate frequency of cavity vibration for measurement of the velocity and quantity of a moving fluid is implemented by using DSP TMS320C32. Measurement of the generated sound wave frequency in cavity is difficult because of environmental noise. Adaptive filters are used to eliminate this noise effectively. The estimated velocity and quantity of a moving fluid by proposed system is compared with the results measured by a standard flow meter.

차동기질내에서 위형 루우프 안테나의 배열에 관한 연구 (A study on the Array of Circular Loop Antenna in Moving Media)

  • 본 논문에서는 광속에 비하여 대단히 작은 진도의 운동매질내에서 도형 루우프 안테나의 array에 대한 방사 특성 및 전류분포를 고찰하였다. 즉 운동매질내의 무형 루우프 안테나 array 상태에서 전류에 대한 적분방정식을 유도차고 이 적분방정식의 해로서 courier경수형식의 전류를 구하였다. 이 전류와 운동매질내에서의 Dayadic Green 함수로부터 전자계식을 구하고, 이들 식을 2개소자로 이루어진 강형 루우프 안테나 array에 적용하여 수치계산을 한 다음, 이를 정지매질의 경우와 비교검토한 결과 전계패턴이 운동매질내에서 매질속도와 반대방향으로 확대되고, 매질속도와 같은 방향으로는 축소되며 지향성이 편위됨을 볼 수 있었다. 이와 같은 변화의 정도는 매질속도가 클수록, 또 루우프의 반경이 클수록 현저하였다.

  • This paper presents a path planning method of the sensor based intelligent vehicle using fuzzy logic controller for avoidance of moving obstacles in unknown environments. Generally it is too difficult and complicated to control intelligent vehicle properly by recognizing unknown terrain with sensors because the great amount of imprecise and ambiguous information has to be considered. In this respect a fuzzy logic can manage such the enormous information in a quite efficient manner. Furthermore it is necessary to use the relative velocity to consider the mobility of obstacles, In order to avoid moving obstacles we must deliberate not only vehicle's relative speed toward obstacles but also self-determined acceleration and steering for the satisfaction of avoidance efficiency. In this study all the primary factors mentioned before are used as the input elements of fuzzy controllers and output signals to control velocity and steering angle of the vehicle. The main purpose of this study is to develop fuzzy controllers for avoiding collision with moving obstacles when they approach the vehicle travelling with straight line and for returning to original trajectory. The ability are and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm are demonstrated by simulations and experiments.

모션벡터를 이용한 가상현실 체험 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of Virtual Realily Immersion System using Motion Vectors)

  • 본 논문에서는 인간의 오감 중에서 시각을 이용하여 가상현실을 실제로 체험할 수 있는 가상현실 체감 시스템을 구현 하였다. 본 논문에서는 3 단계 검색(TSS : Three Step Search)방법을 이용, 현재 프레임에 대응되는 프레임을 인접블록에서 검색하여 두 프레임으로부터 모션벡터를 추출하였다. 구현된 시스템의 성능 평가를 위해 센서를 사용하여 측정한 시뮬레이터 축들의 가속도 값과 영상으로부터 추출한 모션벡터 값을 비교, 평가하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 가상현실 체감 시스템이 영상의 움직임에 보다 가깝게 시뮬레이터를 동작시킬 수 있는 것으로 입증되었다.
