A Study of the Usefulness of Pediatric Balance Scale as a Prediction Indicator for Gross Motor Function Classification System in Children with Cerebral Palsy

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relation between PBS scores and GMFCS levels and to examine whether pediatric balance scale (PBS) scores were useful for predicting gross motor functional classification system (GMFCS) levels in children with cerebral palsy. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed conducted for to evaluatione of PBS and GMFCS using in 26 children with cerebral palsy (16 males and 10 females with GMFCS level I to III). PBS total and item scores at different levels of GMFCS were measured. Results: The hHigh PBS item average scores obtained from standing and postural change dimensions except sitting dimension were observed at the low levels of GMFCS and these results were statistically significant (p<0.05). The relation between PBS (standing and postural change dimensions) and GMFCS levels were was significantly different, except the relation between PBS sitting dimension and GMFCS levels showing a ceiling effect. Conclusion: GMFCS is designed to for classificationy of gross motor functions emphasizing on walking movement and PBS is was developed to for evaluatione of functional balance. Based on the results of this study showing high relation between GMFCS levels and PBS scores, PBS scores can be used for predicting GMFCS levels.

센서네트워크 상황하의 협력적 물체 추적 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Cooperative Object Tracking Algorithm Under the Sensor Network Environment)

  • 최근 반도체 제조기술의 발달로 저가의 센서 노드의 개발이 가능해 짐에 따라 실제 시스템에 대한 모니터링 및 제어 시스템의 개발이 가능하게 되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 센서 네트워크 어플리케이션 중 하나인 움직이는 물체의 추적을 위한 새로운 형태의 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 물체의 이동을 감지한 센서 노드들간의 협업을 통해 이동 물체의 움직임을 지속적으로 감지하는 것을 가능케 한다. 이로 인해 제안된 알고리즘은 타켓의 순간적인 놓침을 초래할 수 있는 예측 실패 등에 대해 강인한 특성을 갖는다. 또한 시뮬레이션 고찰을 통해 제안된 알고리즘이 랜덤한 움직임을 갖는 타켓에 대한 정확한 추적이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • CFD simulation is a tool very useful to predict the generation and absorption of the contaminant from the construction materials for the single room condition. However, there is a limit in multi-room simulation for analyzing air movement and contaminant concentration at the condition that the door of each room was closed. A lot of network simulation tool were developed which can used to analyze the mass transfer and contaminant concentration as results in the multi-room condition. However, existing network simulation method was not able to analyze the change of the heating and cooling load with the ventilation as though the change of the indoor air-pollution density was predictable. In this study, new approach to predict heating/cooling load and indoor contaminant concentration will be reviewed. New indoor contaminant concentration module reviewed in this study wad coupled with existing ESP-r network simulation method. The validity of new approach will be analysed for comparison the results of simulation and field measurement results.

Surface erosion behavior of biopolymer-treated river sand

  • The resistance of soil to the tractive force of flowing water is one of the essential parameters for the stability of the soil when directly exposed to the movement of water such as in rivers and ocean beds. Biopolymers, which are new to sustainable geotechnical engineering practices, are known to enhance the mechanical properties of soil. This study addresses the surface erosion resistance of river-sand treated with several biopolymers that originated from micro-organisms, plants, and dairy products. We used a state-of-the-art erosion function apparatus with P-wave reflection monitoring. Experimental results have shown that biopolymers significantly improve the erosion resistance of soil surfaces. Specifically, the critical shear stress (i.e., the minimum shear stress needed to detach individual soil grains) of biopolymer-treated soils increased by 2 to 500 times. The erodibility coefficient (i.e., the rate of increase in erodibility as the shear stress increases) decreased following biopolymer treatment from 1 × 10-2 to 1 × 10-6 times compared to that of untreated river-sands. The scour prediction calculated using the SRICOS-EFA program has shown that a height of 14 m of an untreated surface is eroded during the ten years flow of the Nakdong River, while biopolymer treatment reduced this height to less than 2.5 m. The result of this study has demonstrated the possibility of cross-linked biopolymers for river-bed stabilization agents.

Construction of Abalone Sensory Texture Evaluation System Based on BP Neural Network

  • The effects of different heat treatments on the sensory characteristics of abalones are studied in this study. In this paper, the sensory evaluation of abalone samples under different heat treatment conditions is carried out, and the evaluation results are analyzed. The three-dimensional (3D) scanning and reverse engineering are used in tooth modeling of the sensory evaluation of abalone samples under different heat treatment conditions. Besides, the chewing movement models are simplified into three modes, including the cutting mode, compressing mode and grinding mode, which are simulated using finite element simulation. The elastic modulus of the abalone samples is obtained through the compression testing using a texture analyzer to distinguish their material properties under different heat treatments and to obtain simulated mechanical parameters. Finally, taking the mechanical parameters of the finite element simulation of abalone chewing as input and sensory evaluation parameters as the output, BP neural network is established in which the sensory texture evaluation model of abalone samples is obtained. Through verification, the neural network prediction model can meet the requirements of food texture evaluation, with an average error of 9.12%.

백령도와 수도권의 황사 수송 시간과 바람장 분석 (Analysis of Asian Dust Transportation Time and Wind Farm in Baengnyeongdo Island and the Metropolitan Area)

  • Baengnyeongdo, located within the Asian dust stream, is an ideal place to analyze Asian dust moving into the West Sea due to its low emission of artificial pollutants. Baengnyeongdo is being used to analyze the vertical distribution of dust from the lower atmosphere to the upper layer through remote observation. This study compared the ground concentration of dust between Baengnyeongdo and the metropolitan area, estimated the lag time of transport of Asian dust from Baengnyeongdo to the metropolitan area, and examined the homogeneity of upper winds using the rawinsonde method. The results showed that the cross correlation coefficient was higher and the lag time was shorter for each observation station when the distance from Baengnyeongdo was shorter. The upper wind at Baengnyeongdo is dominated by the west/northwest wind. It is the basis for the correlation of dust concentration between Baengnyeongdo and the metropolitan area located to the east. In the future, upper wind data and Asian dust concentration data over the West Sea and Baengnyeongdo are expected to contribute to research related to the movement and prediction of Asian dust and preparation for Asian dust in the metropolitan area.

Time-Invariant Stock Movement Prediction After Golden Cross Using LSTM

  • 골든크로스를 흔히 매수의 신호로 인식하지만, 주식시장은 변동성이 매우 크기에 골든크로스만으로 주식의 등락 여부를 예상하고 의사결정을 내리기에는 무리가 있다. 마찬가지로, 이러한 주가 데이터의 불확실성은 기존의 시계열 기반의 예측을 더욱 어렵게 한다. 본 논문에서는 골든크로스를 하나의 사건으로 인식하여, time-invariant 한 접근을 시도하고자 한다. LSTM 신경망 기법을 사용하여 골든크로스 이후의 주가 변화율을 예측하고, 기존의 시계열 분석에서 도출한 성능과 종목별로 비교한다. 또한, 0을 기준으로 한 주가 변화율의 등락을 혼동행렬로 분류하여 일반화 분류 성능을 입증한다. 최종적으로 본 논문은 예측 정밀도가 83%인 모델을 제안하였다. 골든크로스가 나타날 때 모든 상황에서 매수를 결정하기보다 모델을 활용하여 투자자의 투자 자본 손실을 방지할 수 있다.

  • The development of USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology is creating numerous application areas. Although a network configuration with fixed sensors was the norm in the past, the coexistence of mobile and fixed sensor nodes is a new trend. Fixed sensor networks focused on the energy efficiency of nodes, but the latest studies consider guaranteeing the mobility of nodes and maintaining their connectivity, while remaining energy efficient at the same time. This paper proposes a routing protocol for a mobile ad-hoc sensor network that improves the mobility, connectivity and energy efficiency of nodes while allowing for the management and maintenance of a large number of nodes even in a complex communication environment where mobile and fixed nodes coexist. An algorithm for multi-hop multi-paths, a technique for topology reconfiguration by node movement prediction and vibration sensors, path setting for a large number of nodes, and efficient data transfer technology have been introduced to implement the modified LEAHC-AOMDV protocol. Furthermore, the excellence of this protocol was verified through a comparative experiment with the conventional LEACH protocol.

종관 기상 분포에 따른 PM2.5 농도의 공간적 차이에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spatial Differences in PM2.5 Concentrations According to Synoptic Meteorological Distribution)

  • To investigate the reason for the spatial difference in PM2.5 (Particulate Matter, < 2.5 ㎛) concentration despite a similar synoptic pattern, a synoptic analysis was performed. The data used for this study were the daily average PM2.5 concentration and meteorological data observed from 2016 to 2020 in Busan and Seoul metropolitan areas. Synoptic pressure patterns associated with high PM2.5 concentration episodes (greater than 35 ㎍/m3) were analyzed using K-means cluster analysis, based on the 900 hPa geopotential height of NCEP (National Centers for Environmental Prediction) FNL (Final analysis) data. The analysis identified three sub-groups related to high concentrations occurring only in Busan and Seoul metropolitan areas. Although the synoptic patterns of high PM2.5 concentration episodes that occur independently in Busan and Seoul metropolitan areas were similar, there was a difference in the intensity of pressure gradient and its direction, which tends to be an important factor determining the movement time of pollutants. The spatial difference in PM2.5 concentration in the Korean Peninsula is due to the difference and direction of the atmospheric pressure gradient that develops from southwest to northeast direction.

고체추진기관 연소관단열재의 열파괴 예측기법 (Prediction Method for Thermal Destruction of Internal Insulator in Solid Rocket Motor)

  • 본 연구에서는 고체추진기관 내 연소관단열재의 열분해와 삭마를 고려하여 단열재의 열응답을 예측할 수 있는 일차원 해석기법을 개발하였다. 모델링에는 연소관단열재 내부에서 발생하는 열분해로 인한 물성변화, 숯층의 팽창 및 분해가스 이동을 고려하였다. 또한 연소가스로부터의 복사/대류 열유속을 경계조건으로 적용하였으며 단열재 표면에서 발생하는 화학적 삭마속도를 대수식으로 모델링하였다. 해석기법 검증을 위해 열전대가 설치된 시험모터에 대한 해석을 수행하였다. 해석으로 도출된 온도분포는 시험과 유사한 값을 나타냈으며 시험과 예측 열파괴두께의 오차는 0.1 mm 내외였다.
