  • At design stage of new motor or when taking remedial action of old motor, a lot of information can be obtained from thermal parameters analysis. This study focused on the temperature rise of TEFC induction motor with respect to various thermal parameters. Frame heat transfer had the most important effect on coil temperature rise. But those of air gap and rotor fan had no effect. This fact shows fan action is more important than fin action in the case of rotor fan. Coil temperature can be more decreased by cooling near the heat sources than any other parts from the results of thermal conductivity and loss tests. Variation of cooling air flow rate and motor volume effects on coil temperature were also tested. These tests suggest that improvement of cooling fan performance is important in reducing the coil temperature rise. Thermal equivalent program was verified by comparison of some experimental results.

  • In Brushless DC Motor, there are Permanent Magnets (PMs) with driving circuit and sensor for detecting to rotor position and rotation speed. In the case of using hall IC sensor which response to magnetic flux, that is required to additional sensor magnet for rotor position detecting. Most of BLDC motor, However, take asymmetrical overhang of PM in rotor instead of additional sensor magnet for operating of hall IC sensor. The asymmetrical overhang of PM occur rotor thrust to z-axis direction that is lead to not only damage of bearing but also intensive noise and vibration. Therefore, the analysis of magnet overhang effect in the side of vibration and drive to hall If sensor is required to precise. In this paper, 2-D Finite Element Method is used to solve precise field computation and thrust of z-axis direction considering asymmetrical magnet overhang. And also the z-axis thrust from the analysis result is compared to experimental result. In conclusion, the purpose of this paper minimize to noise and vibration of BLDC Motor as analyzes to asymmetrical magnet overhang effect.

  • In general, there has been a lot of research concerned about the gear noise known to be proportional to gear transmission error for external gears likewise spur, helical gear, and hypoid gears. But, In the case of planetary gear set, gear noise study is insufficient because of the difficulty of designing, manufacturing, and understanding of its mechanical system. This study is aimed to develop the transmission error measurement equipment for the planetary gear sets used in the automatic transmission. By comparing the results of the transmission error and noise objectively, user could select the optimized planetary gear set which has quiet noise level before manufacturing the automatic transmission.

  • Accurate parameters based on equivalent circuit are required for high-performance field-oriented control in a three-phase induction motor. In a normal case, stator resistance can be accurately measured using a measuring equipment. Except for stator resistance, all machine parameters on the equivalent circuit should be estimated with particular algorithms. In the viewpoint of traditional regions, the parameters of an induction motor can be identified through the no-load and standstill test. This study proposes an identification method that uses the d-axis model of the induction motor in a stationary frame with the predefined information on stator resistance. Mutual inductance is estimated on the rotational dq coordination similar to that in the traditional no-load experiment test. The leakage inductance and rotor resistance can be estimated simply by applying different voltages and frequencies in the d-axis model of the induction motor. The proposed method is verified through simulation and experimental results.

  • In this study, we focused on development of the all-in-one case insulation for end-burning solid rocket motors. Material of insulation used unvulcanized rubber based on EPDM/kevlar. In case of boots insulation, preforms was made by using hot press molding, and then the tape was inserted between two preforms for all-in-one curing in the case. Finally bladder method was applied for curing of insulation.

  • This paper presents an implementation of high performance control of a reluctance synchronous motor (RSM) using a neural network with a direct torque control. The equivalent circuit in a RSM, which considers iron losses, is theoretically analyzed. Also, the optimal current ratio between torque current and exiting current is analytically derived. In the case of a RSM, unlike an induction motor, torque dynamics can only be maintained by controlling the flux level because torque is directly proportional to the stator current. The neural network is used to efficiently drive the RSM. The TMS320C3l is employed as a control driver to implement complex control algorithms. The experimental results are presented to validate the applicability of the proposed method. The developed control system shows high efficiency and good dynamic response features for a 1.0 [kW] RSM having a 2.57 ratio of d/q.

  • This paper deals with field distributions in high speed motor with two different types of diametrically magnetized PM rotor, one is that rotor is consisted of PM and shaft, the other is that rotor has only PM. In case of high speed motor with rotor consisted of PM and shaft, this paper predicts field distributions in high speed motor according to the quality of shaft. The magnetic field solutions are derived analytically in terms of vector potential and 2-D polar coordinate system. The results are shown in good conformity with those obtained from the commonly used finite element method.

  • In this paper, the classical Lyapunov synthesis method for designing controllers is extended to fuzzy logic. This control technique is then applied to the design of a novel tracking controller for reluctance motor drives. The main features of the method are small rule base, simplicity of construction, and low cost. The proposed controller has been simulated for a model case. In addition, its dynamic performances have been shown to be satisfactory. Capabilities of the proposed technique in controlling the highly nonlinear systems of reluctance motors with much simplicity are also verified.

  • In most previous research work, the transverse edge effect has been allowed for only by use of a relativity-increase factor. This paper gives a more exact treatment. A two-dimensional-field analysis is presented for the problem of sheet rotor linear induction motor with finite width the method used takes account of flux leakage in the space between the stator and secondary sheet rotor as well as in the secondary itself. Equations are derived for the flux density distribution in the air gap and for the starting face, in each case as a function of stator current. The cross gap flux density peaks towards athe edge of the stator. This phenomena is known as the transverse edge effect. Measurements of the flux density in the air gap and starting force on a linear induction motor with sheet rotor of different width showed a reasonable agreement, suggest that it would be desirable to take into account also, at least for this motor in which severe redistribution occurs.

  • Objectives: These cases report the benefits of administration of Banhasasim-tang extracts or decoctions to patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders after motor vehicle accidents. Methods: The patients were treated with Banhasasim-tang extract or decoction three times daily. History-taking and imaging tests were used to differentiate other diseases. We evaluated the patients using the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS), which is used to assess overall gastrointestinal symptoms. Results: Treatment with herbal medicine resulted in a decrease in the patients' complaints of symptoms. The GSRS scale showed improvement in all four cases. Conclusions: Banhasasim-tang, regardless of its form, has beneficial effects in patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders after motor vehicle accidents.
