Protocol testing techniques are expanded from the traditional simple function- testing based on the OSI model, to sophisticated performance testing, conformance testing and interoperability testing. In addition, both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint protocols are to be covered. This paper presents a new multiple-purpose protocol test system where the common platform includes the test sequence generation and test result analysis, and the modular test execution part is selectively adjusted according to the test purposes and protocols under test. This paper describes test system for network routing protocol and test system for transport protocol, designed upon the ideas of the multiple-purpose protocol test system.

The design functionality put forward by mapping the interactiveness of information. The presentation of such information with the user interface model indicates that the guidelines, concepts, and workflows form the deliverables and milestones for achieving a visualized design, therefore forming the right trend is significant to ensure compliance in terms of changing consideration and applying evaluation in the early stages. It is evidenced that prototype design is guided by improvement specifications, includes modes, and variables that increase improvements. The study presents five user interface testing methods. The testing methods are heuristic evaluation, perspective-based user interface testing, cognitive walkthrough, pluralistic walkthrough, and formal usability inspection. It appears that the five testing methods can be combined and matched to produce reasonable results. At last, the study presents different mobile application designs for student projects besides the evaluation of mobile application designs to consider the user needs and usability.
The study for a protective relay system is one of the important technical issues on the power system application of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL). We used Real Time Digital Simulator(RTDS) to study the true interaction of the protection system with the power system. RTDS modeling of SFCL is necessary to the detailed protective relay tests. In this paper, we developed an analysis model using RTDS for studying the transient behavior of 22.9kV SFCL and carried out closed-loop testing of protective relays in distribution power system with the developed SFCL model. The SFCL model has the operation mechanism of 22.9kV hybrid SFCL being developed by LSIS and KEPRI in Korea. The parameters of the model are based on the test data of the real SFCL. Power system planners and operators can solve the expected problems in power system application of SFCL using protective relay testing results.
Purpose: Military maintenance involves corrective and preventive actions carried out to keep a system in or restore it to a predetermined condition. This research develops an optimal maintenance cycle for aviation oil testing equipment with acceptable reliability level and minimum maintenance cost. Methods: The optimal maintenance policy in this research aims to satisfy the desired reliability level at the lowest cost. We assume that the failure process of equipment follows the power law non-homogeneous Poisson process model and the maintenance system is a minimal repair policy. Estimation and other statistical procedures (trend test and goodness of fit test) are given for this model. Results: With time varying failure rate, we developed reliability-based maintenance cost optimization model. This model will reduce the ownership cost through adopting a proactive reliability focused maintenance system. Conclusion: Based on the analysis, it is recommended to increase the current maintenance cycle by three times which is 0.5 year to 1.5 years. Because of the system's built-in self-checking features, it is not expected to have any problems of preventative maintenance cycle.
This paper describes a project - based quality management model that identifies development technologies and codes while at the same time verifying the ability to implement processes that are essential in R & D projects. In order to verify the process implemented in the R & D project implementation, there are review, checking points, and evaluating methods the process performance levels for five processes such as defining requirements which is the beginning stage of system development, testing process which is the completion stage of system development, and project management and peer review process for project management and support in the proposed project-based quality management model. For development technology and code validation, the model included the documented test cases for each requirement by the developer in the requirements definition stage, debugging and testing in the design and implementation stages, static analysis and open source licence verification procedure, and system environment. After applying the model in SW development R&D project for evaluating the process performance, and verifying the development technology and the code, the developers responded that the improvement in the development technique and the code, and upgrade of process performance level for project are more than 10%.

This paper presents numerical modelling, modal testing, finite element model updating, linear and nonlinear earthquake behavior of a reinforced concrete building model. A 1/2 geometrically scale, two-storey, reinforced concrete frame model with raft base were constructed, tested and analyzed. Modal testing on the model using ambient vibrations is performed to illustrate the dynamic characteristics experimentally. Finite element model of the structure is developed by ANSYS software and dynamic characteristics such as natural frequencies, mode shapes and damping ratios are calculated numerically. The enhanced frequency domain decomposition method and the stochastic subspace identification method are used for identifying dynamic characteristics experimentally and such values are used to update the finite element models. Different parameters of the model are calibrated using manual tuning process to minimize the differences between the numerically calculated and experimentally measured dynamic characteristics. The maximum difference between the measured and numerically calculated frequencies is reduced from 28.47% to 4.75% with the model updating. To determine the effects of the finite element model updating on the earthquake behavior, linear and nonlinear earthquake analyses are performed using 1992 Erzincan earthquake record, before and after model updating. After model updating, the maximum differences in the displacements and stresses were obtained as 29% and 25% for the linear earthquake analysis and 28% and 47% for the nonlinear earthquake analysis compared with that obtained from initial earthquake results before model updating. These differences state that finite element model updating provides a significant influence on linear and especially nonlinear earthquake behavior of buildings.

In this paper, we propose goodness of fit test statistics based on the estimated Kullback-Leibler information functions using the data from three step stress accelerated life test. This acceleration model is assumed to be a tampered random variable model. The power of the proposed test under various alternatives is compared with Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic, Cramer-von Mises statistic and Anderson-Darling statistic.
This paper presents the implementation of comparator which are Fail-Safe with respect to faults caused by any single physical defect likely to occur in NMOS and CMOS integrated circuit. The goal is to use it at the Fail-Safe system. First, a new fault model for PLA(Programmable Logic Array) is presented. This model reflects several physical defects in VLSI circuits. It focuses on designs based on PLA because VLSI chips are far too complex to allow detailed analysis of all the possible physical defects that can occur and of the effects on the operation of the circuit. Second, this paper show that these design, which was implemented with 2 level AND_ORor NOR-NOR circuit, are optimal in term of size. And it also present a formal proof that a comparator implemented as NOR-NOR PLA, based on these design, is self-testing with respect to most single faults in the presented fault model. Finally, it discuss the application of the self-testing comparator as a building block for implementing Fail-Safe Adder.
In this paper, we studied the correlation between the activation energy($E_a$) of the raw materials and the structural characteristics of the White LED PKGs. The samples used in the study were composed of low power LED 3type and high power LED 5type. To calculate the activation energy($E_a$) of the White LED PKGs conducted three conditions of high temperature operation test based on the Arrhenius model. The number of samples used in the experiment is 10, respectively. The $T_j$ of Conditions and target specifics expressed $T_{j1}$, $T_{j2}$, $T_{j3}$. The activation energy ($E_a$) of the samples was calculated based on the value of the actually measured lifetime. We investigated the correlation between the activation energy ($E_a$) of the raw materials and the structural characteristics of the White LED PKGs. As a result, White LED PKGs activation energy($E_a$) value was confirmed that the material properties affected more than the structural characteristics of the LED PKGs and we found that activation energy of each LED Model has difference. Normally, The activation energy of phosphor of YAG type was indicated from 0.21 to 0.25[eV] and Silicate type was indicated from 0.12 to 0.16[eV]. According to the results, we confirmed that the activation energy of phosphor of YAG type is higher more than The activation energy of phosphor of Silicate type.

A unified channel thermal noise model valid in all operation regions is presented for short channel MOS transistors. It is based on smooth interpolation between weak and strong inversion models and consistent physical model including velocity saturation, channel length modulation, and carrier heating. From testing for noise benchmark and comparing with published noise data, it is shown that the proposed noise model could be useful in simulating the MOSFET channel thermal noise in all operation regions.
