  • Mobile games have become one of the most important driving forces of the game industry. We focus on the continuous intention to use Chinese mobile games from the perspective of experiential marketing and network externalities. We integrate user experience, network externalities and flow theory into expectation confirmation model and explore the influencing factors of continuous usage intention of Chinese mobile game and propose a research model. Game experience, service experience, perceived enjoyment, social interaction, challenge, perceived number of users and perceived number of peers were employed as independent variables, while flow, perceived value and satisfaction as mediating variables and continuous intention as the dependent variable. After surveying 426 samples, the model is tested with structural equation model. The results reveal that perceived enjoyment significantly positively influences perceived value, flow, satisfaction, and continuous intention. The greater the enjoyment of the game, the greater the satisfaction of the game and the greater the willingness to use it continuously. Game experience has a significant direct effect on continuous intention, which indicates that a better game experience can retain more users. Service experience and perceive number of peers positively influence satisfaction. Another finding is that social interaction and perceived number of users positively influence perceived value and flow, which indicate that social attributes are critical roles for retaining users. Game challenge also positively influences flow. The proper level of challenge is more likely to cause users to enter the state of flow. Flow indirectly influences continuous usage intention through the satisfaction of the game, which indicates that satisfaction is driven by flow experience and further retaining users. Empirical results implied that mobile game companies need to focus on improving user experience, expectation satisfaction and extending network externalities to improve the continuous intention of using mobile game.

  • Owing to the rapid supply of mobile devices, the requirements of users for new mobile software has increased and software vendors (developers) should be able to provide software fast and appropriately. On the other hand, the mobile application in a mobile platform architecture should pass through a complex process to provide the modified mobile application to users and cannot provide an update quickly and immediately. On the other hand, the use of the mobile web is growing because a mobile web can provide an immediate modification of various update requirements to users. Therefore, this paper proposes a dynamic configuration technique for enhancing the productivity of the mobile web development and maintenance in this paper.

  • Wireless and mobile communication technologies enable individuals who trade stocks and bonds to use mobile-based trading services. Due to rapidly developing mobile technologies and adoption of the advanced/smart mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets, the use of mobile trading systems (MTS) have increased at an unexpected rate. Although many prior studies measured service quality on various service-related fields, there are few studies that is related to mobile trading systems compared to more traditional PC-based home trading systems. This research searches determinants of service quality for mobile trading systems and examines the effects of these factors on the intention to mobile trading systems' continuous use. Through an extensive literature review, this research finds three dimensions for mobile trading systems : interaction quality, service environment quality, and service outcome quality. The result of analysis shows that personalization, connectivity, ease of use, informativeness, and monetary value enhance the intention to continuous use. Considering environmental conditions such as the high rate of MTS adoption among individual users and stiffer competition among securities firms, these findings may help practically securities firms' shaping MTS system development strategies for individual users' continuous use and for increasing new users adoption.

  • In mobile phone, complex user interface tend to cause the degradation of product usability. This problem is mainly due to the small hardware user interface of mobile phone. That is, because many functions must be operated in small hardware interface, the principle of one-to-one mapping between a function and a control is disregarded in design, often. In order to resolve this problem, users' characteristics must be considered in the user interface design of mobile phone. So, users' basic characteristics that must be considered in the user interface design of mobile phone were studied through two experiments, questionnaire survey and user testing.

  • Due to the popularity of mobile phones, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) content sharing in mobile phones is highly desirable, especially in a mobile data connection. In addition, there has been an increasing demand for content sharing applications for P2P communication in Android-based smartphones as ubiquitous mobile devices. However, due to wireless network limits, unstable characteristic and restricted storage space, mobile users confront challenges in establishing connections and sharing video frames with other users. To solve this issue, we propose an architectural design and implementation of key frame sharing application that uses Chord, a distributed lookup protocol to establish a content sharing platform for mobile devices, combined with the Chord SDK based on Android. Our proposed system enables users easily to share key information on video data in real-time over a wireless network without manual processing of devices which join or leave the group and cost associated with the 3G/4G network.

  • Recently, many internet users are using mobile music service. In this paper, we aim to examine the effects of system quality factors and relation quality factors on continuance intention in the context of mobile music service. In order to analyze the antecedents of continuance intention, we introduced independent variables such as ease of use, stability, trust, involvement and unity. We also consider customer value and customer satisfaction as mediators. For empirical analysis, we surveyed 240 users of mobile music service. We conduct PLS (Partial Least Square) analysis for SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). As a result, 8 of proposed 12 hypotheses were accepted. Especially, system quality, trust and unity show positive influence on customer satisfaction significantly. Involvement and unity are positively related to customer value. Customer value and customer satisfaction show positive influence on continuance intention significantly. The results of this research can be useful guidelines for mobile music service users and providers.

  • A routing scheme for a group of mobile users for wireless ad-hoc networks is presented. The proposed scheme mines social activity patterns from wireless traces, and exploits social user group for efficient data routing among users based on a data publish approach. Simulation results based on real-world wireless traces show that our routing scheme reduces routing cost for a large mobile user group with a factor of 1.8 compared to a baseline counterpart.

  • Thanks to various characteristics of mobile payment system, many users can easily purchase various products anytime, anywhere, free from time and place restrictions. In this respect, this study attempted to investigate how the perception of mobile payment system's characteristics (security, compatibility, efficiency, economy, reliability) varies depending on the characteristics of mobile payment system users (demographic characteristics, usage characteristics of mobile payment system). The results of the empirical analysis using questionnaires for mobile payment system users in Korea and China say that there are differences in the perceptions of few characteristics of mobile payment system by gender, nationality, age, and usage amount of mobile payment system users. The analysis results of the study are expected to provide implications in various aspects to researchers and practitioners seeking ways for facilitating the usage of mobile payment systems in Korea and China in the future.

  • To launch effective mobile Internet marketing strategies, firms need to understand mobile Internet user behavior. Thus in this study we investigated factors that affect on the repurchase intention of mobile Internet users. A random sample of 501 users was surveyed. Overall satisfaction (mediating factor), flow and interactivity factors (initial factor) were found to have the most significant impact on the reuse intention and discrepancy factor is not significant to the reuse intention.

  • Since the opening of the mobile telecommunications market to new entrants in 1996, the mobile telecommunications industry in Korea has transformed into a severely competitive market. Although there are numerous methods to evaluate the effects of the competition policy, the most relevant would be to measure the decreased degree of mobile service tariff. Also, after the Introduction of competition in the market, most carriers launched a variety of new tariff plans, which would satisfy the users′ traffic volume and pattern. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a "mobile tariff index" that would collectively consider all the various tariff plans. This paper aims to develop a mobile tariff Index that would accommodate all the various tariff plans provided by mobile carriers. To develop this mobile tariff index, mobile user′s will first be classified by their traffic volume, and then calculate the average tariffs per minute of each group of users, and lastly weight-average those tariffs per minute. And finally, this paper shows the mobile tariff index by considering those averaged tariffs and the carriers′ market shares to reflect the contribution of individual carriers and the users′ traffic volume.
