  • An Ad-Hoc networks is a set of wireless mobile host which forms temporary networks without any concentrated controls or any helps of standard support services. Mobile host' routers are operated by their mobile hosts without fixed routers, therefore, the original routing protocol algorithm are not effective. There are two major Protocols in Ad-Hoc Network. A Table-Driven algorithm and an On-Demand, but the latter is presented more effective. We try to compare and analyze the performances of each protocol's host in this thesis.

  • Mobile IP has been designed to have mobile host users move from place to plate without changing their IP address. Ad-hoc network is a provisional network whose mobile host users construct networks by themselves without any assistance of infra structure network, using wireless interface. In this paper we discuss the scheme with which Ad-hoc network users ran access the Internet freely, using mobile IP protocol, and Ad-hot networks are access networks in the spotlight. In this paper we propose algorithm that support enhanced mobility between two Ad-hoc networks applying mobile IP at Ad-hoc routing protocol.

  • Location management is difficult in ad hoc networks due to many features such as the lack of a wired infrastructure, the scarce energy, memory and processing capabilities of nodes, and nodes’ movement which leads to a dynamic topology. These characteristics make the location management schemes designed for mobile cellular networks inefficient for ad hoc networks. New solutions for location management have therefore been proposed in the literature in the recent past. In this paper, a taxonomy of location management strategies is presented; some of the more interesting approaches proposed in the literature are critically discussed, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.

  • Wireless Ad-hoc networks are dynamic networks that consist of mobile nodes. Nodes in Ad-hoc networks are usually laptops, PDAs or mobile phones. These devices feature Bluetooth and/or IEEE 802.11 (WiFi) network interfaces and communicate in a decentralized manner. Due to characteristics of Ad-hoc networks, Mobility is a key feature of routing protocol design. In this paper, we present an enhanced routing maintenance scheme that cope with topology changes pre-actively. The key feature of the proposed scheme is to switch next-hop node to alternative neighbor node before link breakage for preventing route failure. From extensive experiments by using NS2, the performance of the proposed scheme has been improved by comparison to AODV protocol.

  • The mobile radio networks can be divided into networks that has the base station or the infrastructures like AP(Access Point) and Ad Hoc network that hasn't any infrastructures. As there aren't any fixed infrastructures in Ad Hoc Networks, mobile nodes should transmit the data only among mobile nodes themselves. To supplement these weakpoints of the two networks, many studies about Ad Hocs based on the 802.11 are in progress. In this thesis, we try to propose the efficiency of the suggested protocols by comparing and analyzing power saving protocols according to the Beacon intervals in multi hop Ad Hoc Networks based on IEEE 802.11.

  • It was diversified demand for a wireless network to the rapid growth of the Internet, the time and space that are not in the new level of Internet technology, limits the Ad-hoc networks are needed. Ad-hoc networks do not communicate with the central station, each of the mobile nodes included in the network communicate with each other by the relay role. In recent years, the Ad-hoc wireless networks in a variety of routing protocols and network security, research is actively underway for the authentication method, but the security of wireless Internet and Ad-hoc networks, certification is incomplete situation. This paper considers the authentication and key agreement technique applicability of the USIM card using the DSR routing protocol of the Java Card and Ad-hoc networks, we propose a secure authentication mechanism between the mobile node.

  • Mobile ad hoc networks are expected to be widely used in the near future. However, they are susceptible to various security threats because of their inherent characteristics. Malicious flooding attacks are one of the fatal attacks on mobile ad hoc networks. These attacks can severely clog an entire network, as a result of clogging the victim node. If collaborative multiple attacks are conducted, it becomes more difficult to prevent. To defend against these attacks, we propose a novel defense mechanism in mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed scheme enhances the amount of legitimate packet processing at each node. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme also improves the end-to-end packet delivery ratio.

  • A provision of spatial information is expected to make a market explosion in various fields. A distribution of spatial data on wireless mobile environments indicates a huge expansion of mobile technology as well as a spread of geospatial applications. For high-qualified spatial information, the 4S technology Project that is integrating four kinds of spatial systems is currently being executed with the goal of nationwide integration of spatial data and spatial information systems. In terms of network environments, a mobile ad hoc network where mobile terminals communicate with each other without any infrastructures has been standardized for the next generation mobile wireless network. With respect to the future technologies for spatial information, it is necessary to design 4S applications on mobile ad hoc networks. This paper addresses the issue, which is proposing design concepts for distributing 4S spatial data on mobile ad hoc networks and for ad hoc styled 4S applications.

  • Security support is a significant factor in ad hoc networks. Especially in dynamic topologies, key agreement with private key updating is essential in providing a secure system. And it is also necessary to protect the identities of individual nodes in wireless environments to avoid personal privacy problems. However, many of the existing key agreement schemes for ad hoc networks do not consider these issues concurrently. This paper proposes an anonymous ID-based private key update scheme and a key agreement scheme for mobile ad hoc networks. We also suggest a method of rekeying between different domains using service-coordinators. These schemes are secure against various attacks and are suitable for service-oriented mobile ad hoc networks.
