Influence of column yielding on degree of consolidation of soft foundations improved by deep mixed columns

  • Laboratory and field data showed that deep mixed (DM) columns accelerated the rate of consolidation of the soft foundations. Most analyses of consolidation of DM column-improved foundations so far have been based on the elastic theory. In reality, the DM columns may yield due to the stress concentration from the soft soil and its limited strength. The influence of column yielding on the degree of consolidation of the soft foundation improved by DM columns has not been well investigated. A three-dimensional mechanically and hydraulically-coupled numerical method was adopted in this study to investigate the degree of consolidation of the DM column foundation considering column yielding. A unit cell model was used, in which the soil was modeled as a linearly elastic material. For a comparison purpose, the DM column was modeled as an elastic or elastic-plastic material. This study examined the aspects of stress transfer, settlement, and degree of consolidation of the foundations without or with the consideration of the yielding of the DM column. A parametric study was conducted to investigate the influence of the column yielding on the stress concentration ratio, settlement, and average degree of consolidation of the DM column foundation. The stress concentration ratio increased and then decreased to reach a constant value with the increase of the column modulus and time. A simplified method was proposed to calculate the maximum stress concentration ratios under undrained and drained conditions considering the column yielding. The simplified method based on a composite foundation concept could conservatively estimate the consolidation settlement. An increase of the column modulus, area replacement ratio, and/or column permeability increased the rate of consolidation.

불균형 데이터 처리를 통한 침입탐지 성능향상에 관한 연구 (A study on intrusion detection performance improvement through imbalanced data processing)

  • 침입탐지 분야에서 딥러닝과 머신러닝을 이용한 탐지성능이 검증되면서 이를 활용한 사례가 나날이 증가하고 있다. 하지만, 학습에 필요한 데이터 수집이 어렵고, 수집된 데이터의 불균형으로 인해 머신러닝 성능이 현실에 적용되는데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 해결책으로 불균형 데이터 처리를 위해 t-SNE 시각화를 이용한 혼합샘플링 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 페이로드를 포함한 침입탐지 이벤트에 대해서 특성에 맞게 필드를 분리한다. 분리된 필드에 대해 TF-IDF 기반의 피처를 추출한다. 추출된 피처를 기반으로 혼합샘플링 기법을 적용 후 t-SNE를 이용한 데이터 시각화를 통해 불균형 데이터가 처리된 침입탐지에 최적화된 데이터셋을 얻게 된다. 공개 침입탐지 데이터셋 CSIC2012를 통해 9가지 샘플링 기법을 적용하였으며, 제안한 샘플링 기법이 F-score, G-mean 평가 지표를 통해 탐지성능이 향상됨을 검증하였다.

간호대학생의 Virtual 시뮬레이션 실습 및 High fidelity 시뮬레이션 실습교육 경험 분석: 혼합연구방법 적용 (Analysis of the virtual simulation practice and high fidelity simulation practice training experience of nursing students: A mixed-methods study)

  • Purpose: This study used an exploratory sequential approach (mixed methods) design to explore essential meaning through comparing and analyzing the experiences of nursing students in virtual simulation practice and high fidelity simulation practice education in parallel. Methods: The study participants were 20 nursing students, and data were collected through focus group meetings from July 17 to August 5, 2020, and via online quantitative data from November 10 to November 15, 2020. The qualitative data were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological method, and the quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test analysis of variance and Spearman's ρ correlation. Results: The comparison between the two simulation training experiences was shown in five contextual structures, as follows: (1) reflection of the clinical field, (2) thinking theorem vs. thinking expansion, (3) individual-centered learning vs. team-centered learning, (4) attitudes toward participating in practical training, (5) metacognition of personal competency as a prospective nurse, and (6) revisiting the method of practice training. There was a positive correlation between satisfaction with the practice and the clinical judgment ability of high fidelity simulation, which was statistically significant (r=.47, p=.036). Conclusion: Comparing the experiences between virtual simulation practice training and high fidelity simulation practice training, which has increased in demand due to the Coronavirus Disease-2019 pandemic, is meaningful as it provides practical data for introspection and reflection on in-campus clinical education.

볼륨데이터의 웹 서비스를 위한 이미지 기반 가상현실의 적용 (Application of Image Based VR Technique for Volume Data Web Service)

  • 가상현실은 시간과 공간의 제약을 줄일 수 있다는 장점 때문에 많은 부분에서 관심 있는 주제로 대두되고 있다. 이와 함께 최근의 xDSL 같은 초고속 인터넷 기반 기술의 발전은 3차원 모델의 실시간 서비스를 통해 가상현실을 구현하게끔 하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 네트워크 상에서의 3차원 모델 기반 가상현실 구현은 3차원 모델 데이터를 비대함으로 서비스에 제한을 받을 수밖에 없다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안 중 하나가 이미지 기반 가상현실이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 3차원 모델 데이터의 온라인 서비스시 3차원 모델 데이터의 비대함을 해결하기 위해 동적으로 생성된 3차원 모델에 이미지 기반 가상현실 기법을 적용하였다. 이와 함께 웹 서비스화 하기 위한 부가적인 기법을 기술하였으며 실 예를 통하여 이 기법의 효율성을 검증하였다. 이 방법을 적용시 3차원 모델 제공 서비스와 비교시 서비스 이용자에게 거의 동일한 현실감을 제공하면서 전송되는 데이터의 양을 감소시킬 수 있다.

현실세계의 증언, 다큐멘터리-애니메이션 분석 (Testimony of the Real World, Documentary-Animation)

  • 이 연구는 재현의 층위인 실제 인간의 육성(肉聲)을 기반으로 하는 다큐멘터리-애니메이션이 현실세계의 증언으로 작용하는 애니메이션 매체의 새로운 확장임을 논의하였다. 애니메이션은 매우 다양한 기법으로 제작되어 정의하기 힘들 정도로 복잡한 양상을 띠며, 다큐멘터리는 객관적 재현을 기반으로 하지만 연출과 디지털 영상처리 등 여러 유형의 인위적 개입이 존재한다는 점에서 복잡성이 증폭된다. 두 매체의 혼성 장르로 등장한 다큐멘터리-애니메이션은 실제의 사건과 요소를 작품 안으로 끌어들여 현실 기반의 서사를 개념적으로 공유하며, 애니메이션의 외형을 시각적 특징으로 한다. 일반적으로 '애니메이티드 다큐멘터리'로 분류되어 온 이 장르는 <바시르와 왈츠를> 발표 이후 논의가 촉발되었는데, 이 작품의 기법은 실사를 변환한 로토스코핑 기법을 사용한 것으로 오인되곤 한다. 그렇지만 세밀히 분석해보면 전형적인 애니메이션 기법, 3D프로그램의 사용, 그리고 실사영상의 혼용으로 실체 없는 가상의 시뮬라크르인 애니메이션과 지시대상의 객관적 지표성을 기반으로 하는 다큐멘터리의 특성이 공존하는 모호한 매체로 제시되어 있다. 본고에서 논의하고 있는 <무장>(Going Equipped)과 <스낵 앤 드링크>(Snack and Drink), 그리고 <라이언>(Lyan)은 실제인물의 증언으로 서사가 진행된다는 점에서 다큐멘터리 매체의 특성을 공유하지만 동시에 제작기법과 연출특성으로 인해 애니메이션으로 연결된다. 따라서 기존의 분류체계에 이 매체를 포함하기보다 새로운 확장으로써 논의되어야 하며, 이는 작품의 실체를 직시하고 논의를 발전시키기 위해 반드시 필요한 전제라 하겠다. 이 연구에서는 인터뷰이(Interviewee)의 목소리를 직접 사용하면서도 애니메이션의 특성을 벗어나지 않는 작품들을 통해 다큐멘터리-애니메이션을 정의하고 현실세계의 증언으로 확장되고 있는 매체의 가능성에 대하여 논의하고자 하였다.

실감콘텐츠를 활용한 공연장 마케팅 방안 연구 (A Study on Marketing Revitalization Plan of Performing Arts Theatre Using Realistic Contents)

  • 본 연구에서는 실감콘텐츠(VR AR MR)를 활용한 공연장 마케팅 방안을 제안하였다. 공연장은 관객이 직접 체감할 수 있는 공간이며, 공연장 마케팅 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공연장 좌석의 배치를 활용한 마케팅전략이다. 이는 가상현실(VR)을 통해 관객에게 원하는 관람석에서 공연이 어떤 각도와 시야로 관람되는지에 대한 예상이 가능하며 몰입감이 높은 좌석을 예매하도록 유도한다. 둘째, 혼합현실(MR)을 통해 공연 홍보 및 광고물을 활용한 콘텐츠 마케팅이다. 기존의 정적인 홍보수단에 비해 공연예술의 현장감을 살린 동적 홍보가 가능하다. 셋째, 등장 캐릭터를 활용한 마케팅전략이다. 공연은 1회성 예술이다. 이를 보완하도록 등장캐릭터가 공연의 한 장면을 증강현실(AR)콘텐츠로 사전에 제공하여 공연에 대한 흥미를 유발하도록 한다. 넷째, VR 소셜 네트워크를 구축하여 고객과 직접 소통하는 방법이다. 이를 통해 공연장 활성화를 위한 관객 유치에 도움이 되고자 한다.

증강현실을 활용한 국내·외 과학교육 연구 동향 분석 - 초등과학교육 연구를 위한 시사점을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Domestic and Foreign Science Education Research Trends using Augmented Reality - Focusing on Implications for Research in Elementary Science Education -)

  • In order to investigate the trends in science education research using AR (Augmented Reality) and derive implications for elementary science education, we analyzed 71 research articles on AR application in science education published in both Korea and abroad from 2010 to August 2020. In quantitative aspects, the number of published articles has steadily increased. For domestic researches, the number of papers targeting for elementary school students was higher than that of middle & high school students. In the research method aspects, qualitative methods were most frequently used. In particular, papers regarding the development of AR program and verification of its effectiveness were most frequently published. The researches using mixed method in domestic field were smaller in number than that of the research in abroad. There were similar trends in research targeting elementary school students. In the aspects of the contents, more researches were performed on biology and earth science areas than others. In case of researches for elementary school students, the proportion of researches on biology and earth science was even higher. Domestically the proportion of studies on the convergence of science and non-science subjects was higher than that of foreign studies. The number of researches exploring the effectiveness on 'non-scientific attitude domain', 'cognitive domain', and 'program domain' were relatively higher than that on 'inquiry & practice domain' and 'science-related attitude domain'. For types of AR contents, 'observation manipulation type' was mostly studied, followed by 'experimental activity type', and 'learning guide type'. In case of studies on elementary school students, the ratio of 'observation manipulation type' contents was higher than that of others, whereas studies on 'field problem solving type' were relatively less reported than others. In addition, studies on 'simple interaction' were most frequently reported. Particularly, there were relatively few studies on 'linear and nonlinear interactions' in domestic field. As a result of analyzing key words, we found that the key words related to the characteristics and implementation of AR frequently occurred, and the key words related to elementary education and the merits of AR had many direct connections with other key words.

자동차 관련 용어의 수용 양상과 정립의 필요성 (Study on the Acceptance and Establishment of Automobile Terminology)

  • As the Western technologies have been introduced to our culture since the modern age. We have uncritically accepted Japanese style terminology for new things without reflection on the relations of concept, language and fact. Concept is the basis of human thinking and also a criterion of distinguishing what we see and hear. Thus, establishment of concept and naming are important once new technologies or objects are created. In the study, we will take automobile terminology which is relatively familiar to us for example in order to explain the importance of naming. We will reflect our reality where the Japanese style terminology and English style terminology for the automobile components and structures are mixed up and urge the need of establishing the easier terminology. Reorganizing the terminology is also important but automotive engineers and linguists need to work together on ways to translate the terminology into easier ones for common people.

Soil Classification of Anthropogenic Soils in a Remodeled Area Using Soil Taxonomy and World Reference Base for Soil Resources

  • In Soil Taxonomy system, anthropogenic soils are still classified as Entisols since the International Classification Committee for Anthropogenic Soils is in the process of classifying anthropogenic soils as new orders. In reality, it is difficult to characterize anthropogenic soils because Soil Taxonomy (ST) system does not distinguish between natural and anthropogenic Entisols. On the other hand, World Reference Base for soil resources (WRB) considers human impacts on soils and contains an independent category of anthropogenic soils, which makes easier to understand anthropogenic soil characteristics than Soil Taxonomy system. A remodeled paddy field (Gasan) was selected to classify by ST and WRB. Soil samples were taken to analyze chemical and physical properties. Based on the results of the analyses, the ST system classified Gasan as coarse loamy, mixed, mesic, Aquic Udorthents while the WRB did as Stagnic Urbic Technosols (Oxyaquic, Arenic). As a conclusion, the WRB classification information of the anthropogenic provides more detail characteristics of the anthropogenic soils.

현재 조형예술의 정황성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Contextuality in Contemporary Arts)

  • The following thesis has been composed with the inspiration attained from Paul Ardenne's conception on Contextual Art. In Europe and in the United States, there is a group of artists who emphasize in the importance of artist's participation in social, political, economical, environmental and moral issues. Since the 1960's, these artists have pondered on Modernism's ideas where art is contextually separated from humanly issues whereas the manners of such artists put on emphasis in the intent to participate in the real human social and ethical issues. Forerunner in this field of art such as Wolfgang Leib display hybrid or meta style in their work. His work displays a quadrilateral form of pollen which represents the simultaneous blending of two mixed ideas such as the abstract from the real. Thus heterogeneous style and philosophy which includes a range of medias and today's trend is observed in Contextual Art. Such art form is also found in landscapes where it is not seen as an observable object but rather an interactive object. It is correlated to Arte Povera of the Italian Art Movement, Support-Surface of the French Art Movement and lastly to the Fluxus. Through these art movements, we find a mutual antipathy towards putting art for sales in the capitalism market and reflect the social role of art in postmodern era.
