  • Precision stage is essential device for semiconductor equipments, fiber optic assembly systems and micro machines. In this paper, we develop a piezo-electric inchworm type actuator for long stroke ultra precision linear stages, and implement a controller to interface with commercial motion controllers. It provides fast implementation of precise position control system substituting for rotary motor. In the future, using a laser interferometer as a position sensor, we plan to implement a nano meter precision stage.

  • This paper describes design techniques of general purpose thermal array printer, especially easily applicable to medical measurement equipment. The'general'means that the proposed thermal array printer can be applied to not only medical field but other industrial field by establishing the eligible protocol. The thermal array printer is composed of i)MPU and its peripherals ii)printer head control, iii)diverse protection circuits, and iv)serial communication. In this paper the performance of the proposed thermal array printer was evaluated by applying to an 3 channel electrocardiogram recorder. The propped system can support'Hangul'text as well as alphanumeric characters and any bitmap image.

수동 역률 보상회로를 이용한 LED 센서등 회로의 개발 (Development of LED sensor lights circuit by passive power factor correction circuit)

  • In this paper, We studied LED(Light Emitted Diode) sensor lights system using PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) sensor, CdS and MCU(Micro Controller Unit). And applied the valley fill circuit to improve the power factor. We designed the amplifier for each sensor and the LED driver for constant current which is the buck converter. Also, we proposed the algorithm of LED control by each sensors using MCU. Experimental results showed that power factor is 92% with valley fill circuit.

로보트제어를 위한 프로그래밍 언어의 설계 (Design of Programming Language for Robot Control)

  • In this paper the programming language for Hero-1 robot is developed using Apple II micro computer. The language is composed of main monitor mode, editing mode, execution mode, and debugging mode. The main monitor mode is a main flow of the whole language system and controls starting and terminating procedures of operating the controller, and monitors the others. The editing mode has capability to make a user's maniqulation program. Trajectory planning algorithms(point-to-point motion and linear approximate motion)have been realized in the robot language, and in the case of point-to-point motion, inverse kinematics have been solved for the desired point.

  • SRM은 간단하면서 견고한 전동기 구조. 넓은 속도범위에 걸쳐 고효율, 탁월한 제어성능 등을 가지고 있다. 그러나 SRM의 전원부에는 일반적으로 다이오드 정류기를 사용하고 정류기의 출력단에 평활용 커패시터를 사용한다. 따라서 입력전류 파형은 폭이 좁은 펄스형태의 전류를 발생하게 되며 많은 고조파의 성분을 포함하여 제어시스템의 오동작을 발생하게 되는 원인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 energy-efficient C-dump 컨버터의 입력 전원부에 승압형 컨버터를 연결하여 고조파 성분을 저감하여 역률을 개선하는 구동시스템에 관하여 연구하였다. SRM제어를 위해 저 가격의 원칩 80C196KC와 각도제어를 위해 EPROM을 이용하였다. 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 제안된 시스템의 역률 개선을 확인하였다.

A Novel Air-cell Mattress Based on Approximate Anthropometric Model for Preventing Pressure Ulcer

  • Air mattress is now used widely to prevent the pressure ulcer by reducing the localized pressure peaks. In this paper an air-cell mattress and its pressure control method based on an approximate anthropometric model are presented. The air-cell mattress has eighteen cylindrical air cells made of porous material allowing air leakage to contribute in reducing the development of pressure ulcer by lowering the pressure peak, temperature and humidity. To determine an optimal air-cell pressure appropriate for each user, we divide the parts of the body into four sections such as head, trunk, hip, and leg. Then, the pressure of each section is independently calculated from the weight of each part based on the individual body height and weight and the approximate anthropometric model. Air supply system for the air-cell mattress is implemented by using four electronic solenoid valves and an air compressor, and it is driven by a real-time micro-controller. The experimental results with seven subjects shows that the proposed air-cell mattress is effective for the prevention of the pressure ulcer.

Simultaneous and Coded Driving System of Ultrasonic Sensor Array for Object Recognition in Autonomous Mobile Robots

  • Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in mobile robot applications to recognize external environments, because they are cheap, easy to use, and robust under varying lighting conditions. In most cases, a single ultrasonic sensor is used to measure the distance to an object based on time-of-flight (TOF) information, whereas multiple sensors are used to recognize the shape of an object, such as a corner, plane, or edge. However, the conventional sequential driving technique involves a long measurement time. This problem can be resolved by pulse coding ultrasonic signals, which allows multi-sensors to be fired simultaneously and adjacent objects to be distinguished. Accordingly, the current presents a new simultaneous coded driving system for an ultrasonic sensor array for object recognition in autonomous mobile robots. The proposed system is designed and implemented using a DSP and FPGA. A micro-controller board is made using a DSP, Polaroid 6500 ranging modules are modified for firing the coded signals, and a 5-channel coded signal generating board is made using a FPGA. To verify the proposed method, experiments were conducted in an environment with overlapping signals, and the flight distances for each sensor were obtained from the received overlapping signals using correlations and conversion to a bipolar PCM-NRZ signal.

마이크로그리드용 4-Leg 방식 PCS의 각상 개별제어 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (Single-phase Control Algorithm of 4-Leg type PCS for Micro-grid System)

  • AC 방식 마이크로그리드는 다양한 DC/AC 인버터를 AC 네트워크에 연결하여, DC 방식 마이크로그리드의 약점을 극복 하고 있다. 그러나 소규모 마이크로그리드에서 일반적으로 발생하는 심각한 부하 불평형 현상에 의하여, AC 마이크로그리드 시스템의 성능을 약화시킬 수 있다. 이것은 마이크로그리드 내의 불평형 부하로 인하여 상별 에너지 흐름과 전압조정기능이 제한되기 때문이다. 이러한 불평형 전압문제를 해결하기 위하여, 3상 4-Leg 방식의 인버터가 제안되고 있지만, 이를 안정적으로 운용할 수 있는 제어알고리즘이 미비한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 부하 불평형에 의해서 발생하는 인버터의 전압 불평형 문제를 해결하고 안정적으로 제어하기 위하여 d-q제어를 기반으로 3상4선식 인버터의 각상 개별제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한, 이 알고리즘을 바탕으로 Matlab/Simulink를 이용하여 4-Leg 방식의 전압제어기 모델링을 수행하였다. 이 모델링과 250KW급 시험장치를 바탕으로 인버터의 출력전압 제어특성을 분석한 결과, 정상상태에서는 기존의 방식과 비슷한 특성을 보이지만, 과도상태에서는 제안한 각상 개별제어 방식이 기존의 방식보다 안정적으로 동작하여 제안한 방식의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다.

TMS320F28377D 기반 아날로그-디지털 신호 처리 시스템 (Analog-Digital Signal Processing System Based on TMS320F28377D)

  • We propose an embedded solution to design a high-speed and high-accuracy 16bit analog-digital signal processing interface for the control systems using various external analog signals. Choosing TMS320F28377D micro controller unit (MCU) featuring high-performance processing in the 32-bit floating point operation, low power consumption, and various I/O device supports, we design and build the proposed system that supports both 16-bit analog-digital converter (ADC) interface and high precision digital-analog converter (DAC) interface. The ADC receives voltage-level differential signals from fully differential amplifiers, and the DAC communicates with MCU through 50 MHz bandwidth high-fast serial peripheral interface (SPI). We port the boot loader and device drivers to the implemented board, and construct the firmware development environment for the application programming. The performance of the entire implemented system is demonstrated by analog-digital signal processing tests, and is verified by comparing the test results with those of existing similar systems.

An Improved RF Detection Algorithm Using EMD-based WT

  • More and more problems for public security have occurred due to the limited solutions for drone detection especially for micro-drone in long range conditions. This paper aims at dealing with drones detection using a radar system. The radio frequency (RF) signals emitted by a controller can be acquired using the radar, which are usually too weak to extract. To detect the drone successfully, the static clutters and linear trend terms are suppressed based on the background estimation algorithm and linear trend suppression. The principal component analysis technique is used to classify the noises and effective RF signals. The automatic gain control technique is used to enhance the signal to noise ratios (SNR) of RF signals. Meanwhile, the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based wavelet transform (WT) is developed to decrease the influences of the Gaussian white noises. Then, both the azimuth information between the drone and radar and the bandwidth of the RF signals are acquired based on the statistical analysis algorithm developed in this paper. Meanwhile, the proposed accumulation algorithm can also provide the bandwidth estimation, which can be used to make a decision accurately whether there are drones or not in the detection environments based on the probability theory. The detection performance is validated with several experiments conducted outdoors with strong interferences.
