Fuel consumption measurement of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle is considerably different from internal combustion engine vehicle such as carbon balance method. A practical method of fuel consumption measurement has been developed for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. There are three method of hydrogen fuel consumption testing, gravimetric, PVT (pressure, volume and temperature), and mass flow, all of which necessitate physical measurements of the fuel supply. The purpose of this research is to measure the fuel consumption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on chassis-dynamometer and to give information when the research is intended to develop test method to measure hydrogen fuel economy.
We have developed a 2.5-dimensional electromagnetic particle simulation code using the particle-in-cell (PIC) method to investigate electromagnetic phenomena that occur in space plasmas. Our code is based on the leap-frog method and the centered difference method for integration and differentiation of the governing equations. We adopted the relativistic Buneman-Boris method to solve the Lorentz force equation and the Esirkepov method to calculate the current density while maintaining charge conservation. Using the developed code, we performed test simulations for electron two-stream instability and electron temperature anisotropy induced instability with the same initial parameters as used in previously reported studies. The test simulation results are almost identical with those of the previous papers.

In this paper, an efficient multipaction analysis method of a manifold multiplexer for satellite applications is presented. While FEM(Finite Element Method) is used for the multipaction analysis of the lowpass filter, the equivalent circuit model is used for the analysis of the channel filters and the manifold. Employing equivalent circuit model for multipaction analysis takes less time than using EM(Electromagnetic) field analysis method while keeping the accuracy of the multipaction analysis. This present analysis method is applied to the manifold multiplexer for Ka-band satellite transponders and the results show that the present method is as accurate as the conventional EM field analysis method.

We have developed a new driving method named TROPHY(Talented Role-playing Technology with Dual Polarity sustainer in Hybrid Mono board). In this method, the sustain voltage is partially compared to the conventional method and the number of power sources is reduced by voltage level unification during the reset, address and sustain period. The hybrid mono board was especially developed to implement those technologies. Through this, we can lower the cost with the TROPHY compared to the conventional one. It is a suitable technology to improve the reliability of circuit and image sticking problem. We can also reduce the number of driving boards and the EMI problem compared with those of the conventional method.
The contrast ratio is one of the most important performance parameters for display devices. The general method of measuring the contrast ratio is to determine the ratio of the full-screen white pattern to the full-screen black pattern, according to the Video Electronics Standards Association standard. Real TV images seldom have these images, however, and the conventional method does not reflect the true performance of the display in actual use. In this paper, a new contrast ratio measurement method that uses image patterns is proposed, to demonstrate that active matrix organic light-emitting diode TVs have a higher contrast than LED (LCD) TVs.

This study was carried out to establish the simple mass-screening methods for resistant tomato to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (FOL). Root dip inoculation method has been used in many studies on the resistance of tomato to disease. On the other hand, in mass-screening for resistant tomato to Fusarium wilt, the inoculation method is time-consuming and laborious procedure. Disease development of two FOL isolates on two cultivars of tomato according to inoculation method including root dip, tip and scalpel methods were investigated. In compatible interaction, tomato seedlings of each cultivar inoculated by tip method showed the lower and more variable disease severities than by root dip method. Whereas the seedlings by scalpel method represented clear resistant and susceptible responses to Fusarium wilt as root dip method. The resistance degree of each cultivar inoculated with FOL isolates by scalpel method was hardly affected by the tested incubation temperature and inoculum concentration. On the basis of the results, we suggest scalpel inoculation method as an efficient mass-screening method for resistant of tomato cultivars to Fusarium wilt. Roots of tomato seedlings at two-leaf stage grown in plastic cell tray were injured with scalpel and then spore suspension (more than $1{\times}10^7\;conidia{\cdot}mL^{-1}$) of FOL was poured directly on the roots. The infected plants were cultivated in a growth room at $25-30^{\circ}C$ for 4 weeks with 12-hours light a day.

The objective of this study was the establishment of clearance method that can ensure radiological safety and reasonably minimize radioactive waste when demolishing contaminated buildings at KRR-1&2. By reviewing Korean and international laws related to decommissioning, the method for clearance of contaminated buildings presented in this study is to first decontaminate the building and then conduct a radiological safety assessment, such as measuring residual radioactivity, to determine whether the radiation dose criteria for clearance are satisfied. The measurement results meet the radiation dose criteria, the contaminated buildings are regarded as clearance and can be converted into the general buildings. The demolition of the cleared buildings is carried out using conventional demolition methods. The waste generated during the demolition is classified as general construction waste and is disposed of according to relevant laws. The proposed method significantly optimized the number of samples analyzed and reduced the time and cost associated with the decommissioning. The established method will be applied to the ongoing decommissioning of contaminated buildings at KRR-1&2, and its application will be verified by regulatory bodies. The study suggests that this method could be used for the decommissioning of contaminated buildings at other Korean nuclear facilities in the future.

This paper is an attempt at developing a method for the analysis and estimation of the effects of project disruptions due to uncertainties. Such uncertainties may result from design changes in large-scale, complex, research and development, or construction projects. An entropical risk analysis method is developed. The method is able to estimate the project capacity to handle equivocation due to design changes and the effects of project disruptions. In an attempt to evaluate the predictive capability of the method, it is compared with the results obtained by a computer Monte Carlo simulation program. It is shown that the entropical risk analysis method may be suggested as an expedient means of evaluating project status for management in the different stages of project execution.
Comparative study was carried out for an acoustic iterative inverse method to estimate bubble size distributions in water. Conventional bubble sizing methods consider only sound attenuation for sizing. Choi and Yoon [IEEE, 26(1), 125-130 (2001)] reported an acoustic iterative inverse method, which extracts the sound speed component from the measured sound attenuation. It can more accurately estimate the bubble size distributions in water than do the conventional methods. The estimation results of acoustic iterative inverse method were compared with other experimental data. The experimental data show good agreement with the estimation from the acoustic iterative inverse method. This iterative technique can be utilized for bubble sizing in the ocean.

The two different numerical approaches for solving the nonlinear ship wave problem are discussed in the present paper. One is based on a panel method, which neglects the viscous effects. The other is based on a finite volume method, which take into account the viscous effects by solving RANS equations. Focus is laid upon on the advantages and disadvantages of two methods. The developed methods are applied to calculating the flow around Series 60 hull to validate the performance of the present nonlinear methods. Although the two methods employ quite different numerical approaches, the calculated wave patterns from both methods show good agreements with the experiments. However the potential method simu-lates the global wave pattern accurately, while the viscous method shows better performance for the local wave prediction near a ship.
