  • Thermal cracks ard occured when thermal stress due to the hydration of cement exceeds the tensile strength of concrete. Since cracking causes poor durability of concrete, the effect of thermal cracking should be included for the desing and construction of massive concrete structures. In this study, an experiments are performed for the investigation of time dependent temperature and thermal stress of massive concrete structure at early ages. In order to measure temperatures and thermal stresses, concrete stress meter, embedded strain meter, non-stress meter, and thermocouples are used. Based on the analyses of measured thermal stress data, measured values by concrete stress meter are more reliable than those by embedded strain meter and non-stress meter, And measured values by concrete stress meter are compared with the calculated values by FEM program developed by DICT (DWTS2D). Calculated values by DWTS2D show good agreement with measured values.

  • A survey meter which is used a G-M counter sensitive to beta and gamma radiation is studied. This device is completely transistorized, operated with battery, and can be read directly the 3 full-scale meter range: 2.5, 25 and 250 MR/HR respectively. The collector-coupled monostabel multivibrator consisting of a counting-rate meter circuit, and the astable blocking oscillator consisting of a dc-de converter for power supply are analyzed and derived the design dquations. To improve the resolving time of the G-M counter the device is designed to be triggered by low pulse in the order of 0.5v.

  • A flow-meter and its measurement controller was developed for a hydraulic system. This study, for development of positive displacement flow-meter, consist of PIC(Peripheral Interface Controller) controller with MR(Magneto-resistive) sensors. This flow-meter is used valve position indicator for valve control system by hydraulic. The MR sensors are used for the rotation of OVAL gear that detecting device. In the ship environments, consideration that necessary explosive proof. Thus electro device or electro flow-meter needs explosion design for electric circuit. We designed noncontact type flow-meter and evaluated the safety and measuring abilities.

  • Two experiments were conducted to determine how much sodium in food could be detected using a salinity meter. First, the salinity of mixed solutions of 0 to 6% sugar, 0 to 5% oil, and 0 to 6.4% MSG in a 1% NaCl solution was measured using a salinity meter and a Mohr titration method, and the results were compared with the calculated sodium expectations. As a result, the sodium contents of the sugar solutions and MSG solutions measured using a salinity meter were lower than the expected concentrations at 2% or more and 0.8% or more, respectively (p<0.05). The salinity of the 18 HMR products was measured in the same way, and the results were then compared with the sodium contents of the nutrition facts. The average sodium content of all products measured using the salinity meter and Mohr method was 1.12 times and 1.06 times the sodium content of the nutrition facts, respectively. On the other hand, the differences between the products were significant. The correlation coefficients between the nutrition facts and salinity meter, the nutrition facts and the Mohr method, and the salinity meter and Mohr method were 0.885, 0.920, and 0.950, respectively (p<0.01).

  • Meter reading modules, which read the meter and transmit the data to water management offices, can't use the electric wires for their power supply. Therefore, batteries have to be used for meter reading modules and that cause maintenance problems like periodic batteries replacement. To save the maintenance cost, a wireless transmitting solution with less power consumption is required. In This paper, we designed a remote meter reading module, which reads meter automatically with less power consumption of battery by effective management of power source and transmits the reading data using RF.

  • The coefficient of the current meter generally determined by the maker Its coefficient is subject to being changed with time. Therefore the coefficient of the current meter has to be checked up before it is ready to be used Such an inspection is termed a current meter rating The current meter equipped an electronic apparatus and all the others are to be rated in a rating flume. The price current meter which is most widely used for measuring flow velocities ranging between 0.3m/sec and 3.5m/sec has been used in this study. The length of the flume and the optimum range of the rating in the cross section are determined in the range of 20∼120cm deep, 50∼160cm wide of the flume. In this study, the 23 different kinds of the current meter rating enabled us to determine the constants a and b of the following equation. V=an+b(m/sec) where, n is number of revolution per second(n=N/T) V is velocity(v=D/T) The above constant can be determined by the least squares method and plotting, using the velocity(V=D/T) and the number of revolution per second(n=N/T) obtained from the running distance(D), time(T), the number of revolutin(N), and the running number(m). From the experiments the following conclusions are drawn: 1) The rating flume is large enough if the flume is 110∼120cm deep, and 40∼50m long. 2) The optimum depth for rating of a current meter is in the range of h=40∼50cm.

  • Recently, several papers for reading meters remotely using RFID/USN technologies have been presented. In the case of water meter, there has been neither commercial product nor paper. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of wireless digital water meter with low power consumption. We use magnetic hole sensors to compute the amount of water consumption. The meter of water consumption is transferred via ZigBee wireless protocol to a gateway. Low power consumption design is essential since a battery should last till the life time of water meter. We present that dual batteries haying 3V, 3000mAh, would last 8 years by analyzing the real power consumption of our water meter.

  • In this paper, we propose a LoRa communication module using the LoRa RF module of Murata Electronics is designed to configure the IoT digital meter remote meter reading and a method of configuring a remote meter reading network by collecting multiple meter data in a DCU (Data Concentrate Unit) to configure a network with LoRaWAN. The developed system can be installed more easily and economically in the network configuration than the existing system by allowing the meter to be directly connected to the network or matched with a DCU to connect to the network according to the configuration of the consumer. The developed system was constructed using a digital water meter as an example, but it can also be applied to remote meter reading of the metered values of other meters such as electricity, water, gas, hot water and calorie meters. The main development contents are the design, configuration, and construction of digital meters, LoRa modules and DCUs, and how to connect the LoRaWAN network and transmit meter data to the server. By networking these devices, the system is configured, and the actual LoRaWAN communication is tested and the result is shown.

  • The realization by many industrial countries that manufacturing is a critical ingredient for attaining economic strength and stability has led to the development of automated systems which were proviously considered as gimmicks. The adaptive skill of the human operator is now being simulated and reproduced by computer that have become more powerful and less expensive. The work presented in this paper forms an investigation of the effects of dynamic viscosity and load of hydraulic oil an pressures with three different circuit(meter-in, meter-out and bleed off). The experimental results showed that pressures increase with an increase in dynamic viscosity and load in bleed off circuit, but there is no variation of pressure in meter-In meter-out circuit.
