  • Information systems nowadays are heterogeneous and distributed which integrate the enterprise information by processes. They are also very complex, because they are linked together by processes. It aims to integrate the systems so that these systems work as one system. A process is a framework which contains all of the business activities in an enterprise, and has a lot of information which is needed for measuring performance. A process consists of activities, and an activity contains events which can be considered information sources. In most cases, it is very valuable to determine if a process is meaningful, but it is difficult because of the complexity in measuring performance, and also because finding relationships between business factors and events is not a simple problem. So it would reduce operation cost and allow efficient process execution if I could evaluate the process before it ends. In this paper we propose an event based process measurement model. First, we propose the concept of process performance measurement, and a model for selecting process and activity indexes from the events which are collected from information systems. Second, we propose at methodologies and data schema that can store and manage the selected process indexes, the mapping methods between indexes and events. Finally, we propose a process Performance measurement model using the collected events which gives users a valuable managerial information.

  • PURPOSE. This study evaluated the effect of span length on the adaptation of implant-supported cobalt chromium frameworks fabricated by three techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Models with two solid abutment analogs at different inter-abutment distances were digitized using a laboratory scanner. Frameworks of two-, three-, and four-unit fixed prostheses were designed by a computer. Six dots with a diameter of 0.2 mm were preset on the surface of each framework. A total of 54 implant-supported cobalt chromium frameworks were fabricated by milling, selective laser melting (SLM), and cast techniques. The frameworks were scanned and exported as Stereolithography files. Distances between two dots in X, Y, and Z coordinates were measured in both the designed and fabricated frameworks. Marginal gaps between the framework and the abutments were also evaluated by impression replica method. RESULTS. In terms of distance measurement, significant differences were found between three- and four-unit frameworks, as well as between two- and four-unit frameworks prepared by milling technique (P<.05). Significant differences were also noted between two- and three-unit frameworks, as well as between two- and four-unit frameworks prepared by cast technique (P<.05). The milling technique presented smaller differences than the SLM technique, and the SLM technique showed smaller differences than the cast technique at any unit prostheses (P<.05). Evaluation with the impression replica method indicated significant differences among the span lengths for any fabrication method (P<.05), as well as among the fabrication methods at any unit prostheses (P<.05). CONCLUSION. The adaptation of implant-supported cobalt chromium frameworks was affected by the span length and fabrication method.

  • As customer relationship management (CRM) has been increasingly adopted by corporations as a core business strategy, measuring performance of CRM is becoming an important managerial issue recently. In this study, we present a conceptual framework formeasuring CRM performance, and provide strategic priorities among the diagnostic perspectives and factors involved in the framework by analyzing their comparative weights. We first derived critical success factors of CRM from an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with industrial and academic CRM experts, and categorized them into one of four different diagnostic perspectives. Then, we asked a group of CRM experts to evaluate each set of diagnostic factors in a pairwise fashion with respect to each perspective, computing their comparative weights by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. In terms of diagnostic perspectives, this study shows that customer perspective was the most critical perspective, whereas infrastructure was the least weighted perspective. The result also discloses that explicit goal and top management's attitude, expanding customer relationship, strengthening customer loyalty, and enhancing customer equity are the most important factors in infrastructure, CRM process, customer, and organizational performance perspective, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop frameworks for evaluating reading programs for children provided by a public library. Logic Model based on outcome evaluations was applied for the framework development. While the logic model is generally composed of six factors, the frameworks developed in this study has four factors including input, activity, output, and outcome. Additionally, this study suggests outcome indicators which were driven from library data. Even though the evaluation frameworks were developed from specific programs operated by a public library, those might be able to be used to evaluate other libraries' programs for children since the target programs are commonly provided by public libraries.

  • Internet worm can cause a traffic problem through DDoS(Distributed Denial of Services) or other kind of attacks. In those manners, it can compromise the internet infrastructure. In addition to this, it can intrude to important server and expose personal information to attacker. However, current detection and response mechanisms to worm have many vulnerabilities, because they only use local characteristic of worm or can treat known worms. In this paper, we propose a new framework to detect unknown worms. It uses macroscopic characteristic of worm to detect unknown worm early. In proposed idea, we define the macroscopic behavior of worm, propose a worm detection method to detect worm flow directly in IP packet networks, and show the performance of our system with simulations. In IP based method, we implement the proposed system and measure the time overhead to execute our system. The measurement shows our system is not too heavy to normal host users.

  • This article aims to explore the performance evaluation framework for assessing the contribution of national research and development(R&D) program to productivity growth. The key idea starts with the development of methodology for evaluating the returns to R&D. The method of this study is based on the comparison of productivity growth between different periods, not cross-sectional approach with one period. In this context, backward effect and forward effect are operationally defined as a measurement for contributions of R&D in this paper. The analysis results gives that the backward effect of R&D is greater than the forward effect, while the difference was especially evident with the case of sales variable, not operating profit variable.

  • This paper proposes an efficient and accurate vision based recognition and tracking framework for texture free objects. We approached this problem with a two phased algorithm: detection phase and tracking phase. In the detection phase, the algorithm extracts shape context descriptors that used for classifying objects into predetermined interesting targets. Later on, the matching result is further refined by a minimization technique. In the tracking phase, we resorted to meanshift tracking algorithm based on Bhattacharyya coefficient measurement. In summary, the contributions of our methods for the underwater robot vision are four folds: 1) Our method can deal with camera motion and scale changes of objects in underwater environment; 2) It is inexpensive vision based recognition algorithm; 3) The advantage of shape based method compared to a distinct feature point based method (SIFT) in the underwater environment with possible turbidity variation; 4) We made a quantitative comparison of our method with a few other well-known methods. The result is quite promising for the map based underwater SLAM task which is the goal of our research.

  • We developed four qualitative criteria for evaluating Indonesia's REDD+ strategy by analysing REDD+ related decisions from the Cancun agreements adopted by the 16th Conference of the Parties under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the important elements developed by Norway's International Climate and Forest Initiative to evaluate Indonesia's REDD+ strategy: (1) Criterion 1 is assessing how accurately the developed strategy identifies substantial underlying and direct causes of deforestation and forest degradation; (2) Criterion 2 is whether the strategy establishes a scientifically reliable national-level MRV (Measurement, Reporting and Verification) system; (3) Criterion 3 is whether the strategy achieves real greenhouse gas emissions reductions; and (4) Criterion 4 is whether the strategy includes safeguards to ensure equity and co-benefits from REDD+ related projects for relevant stakeholders, in particular local communities and indigenous peoples. Criteria 1 and 2 can be the fundamental bases of real GHG emissions reduction (Criteria 3). Criteria 3 is recognised as the ultimate objective of REDD+. Criterion 4 is for both bases of the effective GHG emission reduction and complementary objective of REDD+. These criteria and indicators developed can provide basic framework to understand their REDD+ national strategies of the other developing countries as well as Indonesia.

  • Recently, the supply ratio of smart devices application has become increasable, utilization of device increases constantly. At the same time, used application is more gentrified. However, using time of devices is decreased. To solve these problems, many research is studying about the hardware/software. One of them is profiling power consumption by process units. The process can be managed, based on measured energy consumption data. These means that it can efficiently use the residual energy. Application at the stage of program design can analyze and used-energy using the trace by considering the low-power can design. In this paper, we studied software-based power-metering framework for android platform. We survey each process-level power consumption measurement techniques, compare advantages and disadvantages of the technique and propose improved measures.
