  • This paper deals with the problem of testing mean change with one change-point with the normal random variables. We propose a test with the mean difference for change in a location parameter. A power comparison study of various change-point test statistics is performed via Monte Carlo simulation with S-plus software.

  • A 'convergence in probability' rate of the empirical distributions and quantiles of linear processes is obtained. As an application of the limit theorems, a trimmed mean for the location of the linear process is considered. It is shown that the trimmed mean is asymptotically normal. A consistent estimator for the asymptotic variance of the trimmed mean is provided.

  • We investigate the boundary values of the holomorphic mean Lipschitz function. In fact, we prove that the admissible limit exists at every boundary point of the unit ball for the holomorphic mean Lipschitz functions under some assumptions on the Lipschitz order. Moreover, we get embedding theorems of holomorphic mean Lipschitz spaces into Hardy spaces or into the Bloch space on the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}_n$.

  • It has been known for mean field models that the limiting distribution reflecting the asymptotic behavior of the system is non-Gaussian at the critical state. Recently, however, Papangelow showed for the critical Curie-Weiss mean field model that there exist Gaussian structures in the asymptotic behavior of the total magnetization. We construct Gaussian structures existing in the internal fluctuation of the system for the critical case of a generalized Curie-Weiss mean field model.

  • In this paper we consider several nonparametric estimators for the mean residual life by using the partial moment approximation under the proportional hazard model. Also we compare the magnitude of mean square error of the proposed nonparametric estimators for mean residual life under the proportional hazard model.

  • The main purpose of this paper is using the properties of Gauss sums, primitive characters and the mean value theorems of Dirichlet L-functions to study the hybrid mean value of the T-th hyper-Kloosterman sums Kl(h, k+1, r;q) and the hyper Cochrane sums C(h, q; m, k), and give an interesting mean value formula.

  • The mean residual function is the expected remaining life of an item at age x. The problem of trend change in the mean residual life is great interest in the reliability and survival analysis. In this paper, we develop a family of test statistics for testing whether or not the mean residual life changes its trend. The asymptotic normality of the test statistics is established. Monte Carlo simulations are conducted to study the performance of our test statistics.

  • In order to estimate the mean and variance for a Normal distribution which is truncated at both right and left sides, maximum likelihood estimators based on the entire sample from the original distribution are compared with the sample mean and variance of the censored sample which is the data remaining after truncation using simulation. We found that, surprisingly, the mean squared error of the mean based on the censored data Is smaller than that of the full sample estimators.

  • A total of 65 rain gauges with Automatic Weather Station(AWS) were used to regional analysis of precipitation. Nine cluster regions were identified using geographical locations, maximum, mean, standard deviation of 1 day maximum rainfalls, mean annual precipitation and rainfall of rainy season in Korea. The mean annual precipitation, geographical locations, and the synoptic generating mechanisms were used to identify th five climatological homogeneous regions in Korea. Number of final regions by mean annual precipitation and cluster methods divided into five regions in Korea.

  • The osculating orbital elements include the mean, secular, long period, and short period terms. The iterative algorithm used for conversion of osculating orbital elements to mean orbital elements is described. The mean orbital elements of $W_c,\;W_s$, and L are obtained.
