The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two donepezil tablets, $Aricept^{TM}$ tablet (Dae Woong Pharm. Co., Ltd., Korea, reference drug) and $Donpezil^{TM}$ tablet (Dong Wha Pharm. Ind. Co., Ltd., Korea, test drug), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty-four healthy male Korean volunteers received one tablet containing donepezil hydorchloride 10 mg in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a three-week washout period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of donepezil were monitored by an LC-MS/MS far over a period of 240 hr after the administration. $AUC_t$, (the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 240 hr) was calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule method. $C_{max}$ (maximum plasma drug concentration) and $T_{max}$ (time to reach $C_{max}$)were compiled from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$, No significant sequence effects were found for all of the bioavailability parameters indicating that the crossover design was properly performed. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$ were log 0.95${\sim}$log 1.03 and log 0.94${\sim}$log 1.08, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log 0.80${\sim}$log 1.25. Taken together, our study demonstrated the bioequivalence of $Aricept^{TM}$ and $Donpezil^{TM}$ with respect to the rate and extent of absorption.

Methyl violet, used extensively in the commercial textile industry and as a biological stain, is a hazardous recalcitrant. Aspergillus sp. strain CB-TKL-1 isolated from a water sample from Tsumoriri Lake, Karzok, Ladakh, India, was found to completely decolorize methyl violet within 24 h when cultured under aerobic conditions at $25^{\circ}C$. The rate of decolorization was determined by monitoring the decrease in the absorbance maxima of the dye by UV-visible spectroscopy. The decolorization of methyl violet was optimal at pH 5.5 and $30^{\circ}C$ when agitated at 200 rpm. Addition of glucose or arabinose (2%) as a carbon source and sodium nitrate or soyapeptone (0.2%) as a nitrogen source enhanced the decolorization ability of the culture. Furthermore, the culture exhibited a maximum decolorization rate of methyl violet after 24 h when the C:N ratio was 10. Nine N-demethylated decolorized products of methyl violet were identified based on UV-visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and LC-MS analyses. The decolorization of methyl violet at the end of 24 h generated mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, and hexa-N-demethylated intermediates of pararosaniline. The variation of the relative absorption peaks in the decolorized sample indicated a linear decrease of hexa-N-demethylated compounds to non-N-demethylated pararosaniline, indicating a stepwise N-demethylation in the decolorization process.

As buildings are built higher and their service life made longer, face brick walls are also required to be constructed in an easy and systematic manner, and to ensure their satisfying structural performance, inspectingly, against lateral load. Therefore this study aims to investigate the structural performance of face brick walls constructed by a new method using screwed stainless steel connectors and provide fundamental experiment data for field application of this method. The results of this study indicated that the face brick wall tied with screw connectors had better shear capacity against rocking motion than that of the wall constructed with ordinary tie bars when their tie spacing was the same. Based on the good performance of the wall tied with the screw connector, it is also expected that the spiral anchors developed in this study can possibly applied to high-rise by adjusting the spacing of the anchors considering the difference of dimensions.
Effects of olive oil on rheological properties of wheat flour dough were investigated through farinograph, amylograph, and extensograph, and by measuring wheat flour dough fermentation volume. Farinogram showed development time, stability, elasticity, and valorimeter value of olive oil-added wheat flour decreased, whereas water absorption and stability were similar to control (shortening 4%). Gelatinization temperature and maximum viscosity of wheat flour dough with olive oil decreased more than those of control as revealed by amylogram. Extensogram showed wheat flour area increased, whereas dough volume decreased in olive oil-added wheat flour dough.
Absorption, metabolism, and tissue concentrations of quercetin were examined and compared in mice and rats after oral administration of quercetin at 50 or 100 mg/kg. Quercetin was absorbed quickly in mice and reached maximum plasma concentration in I hr post-administration, and declined sharply after 4 hr. Plasma concentration of isorhamnetin, a major metabolite, also increased sharply, indicating rapid metabolic conversion, but elevated level was maintained longer than that of quercetin. Quercetin and isorhamnetin were found predominantly in glucuronide/sulfate-conjugate forms in both mice and rats. Tissue concentrations of quercetin and isorhamnetin in mice and rats were in the order of liver>kidney>spleen>plasma both 1 and 6 hr postadministration. These results show that quercetin is absorbed in mice after oral feeding and quickly metabolized into isorhamnetin as demonstrated in humans and other animal species. The results also can be used to explain various pharmacological activities reported in mouse models.

International Convention Center Jeju(ICCJ) was planed and built for accommodating a variety of conventional and exhibitional activities. For a better flexibility of operation, almost all rooms in ICCJ are designed to be subdivided Into a couple of small rooms with installation of movable partition walls. Architectural and acoustical design should be deliberatively and cooperatively undertaken to cope with such a complex condition. Conference hall, the largest room in ICCJ, has a capacity of 5000 seats who:1 used as a whole. It could be divided into 3 halls, one with 2000 pre-installed seats on slanted floor, up/down removable stage and its settings above, and the other 2 flat rooms with no seats installed. A devided hall with pre-installed seats and stage is designed for a multi-use auditorium. Almost all surfaces except ceilings adjacent to the stage are sound absorptively treated, in regard to extensive use of sound reinforcement systems. Its reverberation time 1.65 sec without audience, which is roughly correspond to 1.50 sec with fully occupied audience. When there is a need for a larger room, all the partition wail Is removed and the hall could be used as a whole. Exhibition hall is located in the first floor of ICCJ. Absorption and softness are needed for the hat 1 because exhibition behavior has something noisy features. Perforated MDF panels with porous materials and air space in the back groundare adopted for the walls. There are one large, two medium, and several small convention rooms in ICJJ. The room are also acoustically designed for maximum flexibility with no defects soundwisely.

Antimicrobial activity of yellow pigment produced by Monascus anka Y7 (Y7) was studied. The crude yellow pigment of Y7 showed antimicrobial activity against some bacteria and yeasts. The diameter of inhibition zone against gram-positive bacteria was a little smaller t]fan that of gram-negative bacteria to the crude yellow pigment. Especially, E2 fraction obtained from the crude yellow pigment by TLC method showed high anti-microbial activity against E. coli.. The fraction had bright yellow pigment, showing fluorescent light and having the maximum absorption at 373 nm. Citrinin, a mycotoxin which had been characterized as an antimicrobial substance from a Monascus strain, was not detected in the E2 fraction and in the crude yellow pigment by the results of TLC and HPLC. This indicates that the antimicrobial activity of Y7 pigments did not any relationship with citrinin. Yellow degree (b/a of Hunters color value) of Y7 pigment was much higher than that of other natural colorants such as annatto, gardenia yellow and carthamus yellow. But the colors of all of the yellow pigments were similar by panels. Thus, the yellow pigment of Y7 could be used as a useful alternative colorant for food industry, having the advantage of antimicrobial activity.

Carotenoids isolated from orange peels were determined physicocohemical properties with TLC, UV-spectrophotometer and HPLC etc., and the results were as follows . Maximum absorption wavelength of the isolated carotenoids was 415nm when the result was similar to $\beta$-carotene as 423nm. Eight spots were obtianed from TLC, and identified lutein, lycopene, $\alpha$-carotene and $\beta$-carotene with HPLC. The effect pH during the storage period of isolate carotenoids, the period when the amount of pigment retention was over 50% in pH 5, 6 and 7 , after 10 days . The amount of pigment retention was lower in control than in treatment of sugars such as fructose, glucose and sorbitol , but sucrose was similar to the control, Isolated carotenoids were stable to ascorbic acid, and the amount of pigment retention was over 70% after 10 days. The amount of pigment retention in the effect oforganic acid was higher in treated citric acid , lactic acid and tartaric acid than in control, but lower in treated maleic acid and succinic acid. Isolated carotenoids were stable at 50 $^{\circ}C$, and the amount of pigment retention was over 50% at 10$0^{\circ}C$.

To improve the color stability of chlorophyll in young barley leaf used as functional green biomaterial, the absorption spectrum, color values, and antioxidative activities of young barley leaf (YBL) treated with zinc ion solutions were investigated. The small pieces of fresh YBL in aqueous solution mixtures were autoclaved twice at $110^{\circ}C$ for 30 min (pH 5). Distilled water (BLA), 0.01% zinc chloride (BLAZ), 0.01% zinc citrate (BLAC), and 0.01% zinc lactate (BLAL) solutions were used. Treated YBL powders were extracted with 80% EtOH for 4 h. Chlorophyll a and b contents differed with different treatments. BLA decreased chlorophyll a and b contents, whereas others were maintained. Absorbance spectrums of chlorophyll at 400~700 nm showed different maximum peak wavelengths. After heating in acidic and neutral solutions (pH 3, 5, and 7), the colors of YBL and BLA changed from green to olive green, whereas BLAZ, BLAC, and BLAL remained green color. The antioxidative activities showed higher values in YBL extract than in treated extracts. From the above results, autoclaved YBL in zinc solution would increase the color stability and maintain green color regardless of acid and heat treatments.

The high oxidants, which occur the daily maximum concentrations in the afternoon, are transported into the other region via long range transport mechanisms or trapped within the shallow mixing boundary layer and then removed physically (deposition, transport by mountain wind, etc.) and chemically (reaction with local sources). Therefore, modeling formation of photochemical oxidants requires a complex description of both chemical and meteorological processes. In this study, as a part of air quality studies, we reviewed various aspects of photochemical modeling on the basis of currently available literature. The result of the review shows that the model is based on a set of coupled continuity equations describing advection, diffusion, transport, deposition, chemistry, emission. Also photochemical oxidant models require a large amount of input data concerned with all aspects of the ozone life cycle. First, emission inventories of hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxides, with appropriate spatial and temporal resolution. Second, chemical and photochemical data allowing the quantitative description of the formation of ozone and other photochemically-generated secondary pollutants. Third, dry deposition mechanisms particularly for ozone, PAN and hydrogen peroxide to account for their removal by absorption on the ground, crops, natural vegetation, man-made and water surfaces. Finally, meteorological data describing the transport of primary pollutants away from their sources and of secondary pollutants towards the sensitive receptors where environmental damage may occur. In order to improve our present study, shortcomings and limitation of existing models are pointed out and verification process through observation is emphasized.
