  • This study aims to analyze trends in domestic research concerning career guidance for college students majoring in arts, and to provide implications for future research. To this end, a total of 74 papers including journal articles, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations published from 2006-2016 were analyzed in terms of research period, research topic, research methods, study subjects' gender, years in college, and field of study in the arts. Research topics were analyzed according to six criteria, and results showed that there were 24 studies concerning topics related to adaptation/ behaviors/ experiences, including career-related stress, career maturity, anxiety, preparation and development competences, accounting for 32.5% of the total. In terms of gender, 96% of research included both male and female students, and three were conducted only for female students. In terms of year of study, 49 studies examined students in all years of study considered students in all years, accounting for 66% of the sample. Trends in research methods were characterized by the quantitative method applied in the study. Regarding the field of study in the arts, 54 studies were conducted in the field of dance (ballet, Korean dance, and contemporary dance), accounting for 73% of the total. In addition, topics in the field of dance were evenly covered by these studies. Most studies concerning career guidance in art colleges were difficult to categorize due to the small number of studies conducted in the sample. It is suggested that future research reflects various perspectives, social issues, students' majors, year of study, and gender using various research methods.

  • A study was conducted to determine the effects of restricted feeding and feed form on the growth performance, characteristics of carcass and digestive tract, and days to first egg of Japanese quail (JQ, Coturnix coturnix japonica). A total of 240 oneweek-old JQ chicks were allocated randomly into 4 experimental groups that consisted of 3 replicates according to a 2${\times}$2 factorial arrangement for two feeding methods (ad libitum, AF and restricted feeding, RF) and two diet forms (mash, MD and crumble, CD). The JQ chicks were placed in a room with floor battery brooders and fed a commercial starter diet from 7 to 14 d of age. According to the experimental design, four treatments (1: ad libitum MD, 2: restricted MD, 3: ad libitum CD, and 4: restricted CD) were applied. Feed restriction was applied by 30% reduction of ad libitum feed intake for both MD and CD from 15 to 28 d of age. All birds were fed ad libitum with treatment diets from 29 d of age until the first laid egg seen (45 d of age). The commercial starter diet, MD and CD were in the same nutrient content (240 g crude protein with 13.4 MJ ME per kg diet). The body weight and overall feed conversion ratio (g feed/g gain) were higher (p<0.05) for the AF quails than the RF at 42 d of age. Carcass weights, dressing percentage and percentage yields of breast and back were similar for AF and RF groups at 42 d of age. The RF delayed (p<0.05) onset of egg production 2 days compared to the AF. Quail fed with the CD showed higher value (p<0.05) for carcass weight and dressing percentage at 42 d of age compared to birds fed with the MD. The interaction effect of feeding method${\times}$feed form on any of the studied parameters was not significant. The results suggest that feed restriction as in the present study can achieve a better feed conversion without reduction in carcass weight, and a significant benefit of feeding the crumble diet over the mash diet was obtained in terms of carcass weight in the JQ.

  • Bones are important parts in sustaining the shape of the body, but they are also metabolic organs which undergo bone remodeling by constant bone resorption and formation. Osteoporosis, the typical metabolic bone disease, is characterized by a reduction in bone mineral density (BMD). Women more than men are at risk fir osteoporosis-related fractures, especially in the lumbar spine, wrist, and hip region. Risk of fracture depends on one's BMD, which open determined by the peak bone mass value achieved at skeletal maturity and followed by subsequent age-and menopause-related bone loss. Genetic and environmental factors are known to play a key role in bone metabolism and diet is considered as one of the important environmental factors. The purpose of the present study was to assess the status of BMD and bone mineral content(BMC) to clarify the relationships between dietary intakes and the risk of osteoporosis in adult women in Taegu. Subjects were 130 healthy females in between 20 and 69 years of age. BMD and BMC of the lumbar spine(venebrae L2-4) of the subjects were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The average age of the subjects was 47.4${\pm}$11.7 years old, the average weight was 57.2${\pm}$8.4kg, the average age of menarche was 16.6${\pm}$1.9 years old and the average age of menopause was 48.4${\pm}$5.3 years old. The nutrient intakes of the subjects measured by the convenient method were generally lower than the level of RDA. The result of nutrient intake assessed has shown that the average energy intake was 1701${\pm}$316kca1 which is 85.1% of the RDA and the average calcium intake was 485.4${\pm}$172.3mg which is 69.3% of the RDA. The intakes of protein, vitamin A, vitamin B$_1$, niacin were greater than the RDA, whereas the remaining nutrient intakes were lower than the RDA. The average BMD of the subjects was shown to be 1.06${\pm}$1.09g/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The highest BMD of 1.24${\pm}$0.14g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was noticed in the subjects of 30s compared to 20s, 40s, 50s, 60s. The BMD values were compared by the relative body weight(R3W) of the menopause subjects, and it was found that the underweight group had significant lower BMB while the rest of the groups did not have any differences in BMD. The most strongly correlated nutrient with BMD among the menopause subjects appeared to be calcium. The women whose Ca intakes were higher than 500mg showed the significantly higher BMD than those with Ca intakes lower than 500mg. This study suggests that the most effective way to prevent osteoporosis and to reduce the incidences of fractures seems to be minimizing bone loss through the adequate intake of calcium as well as avoiding underweight, especially in menopausal women. • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are essential systems for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations in current battlespace. And its importance will be getting extended because of complexity and uncertainty of battlespace. In this study, we forecast the advancement of 96 UAVs during the period of 32 years from 1982 to 2014 using TFDEA. TFDEA is a quantitative technology forecasting method which is characterized as non-parametric and non-statistical mathematical programming. Inman et al. (2006) showed that TFDEA is more accurate in forecasting compared with classical econometrics (e.g. regression). This study got 4.06% point of annual technological rate of change (RoC) for UAVs by applying TFDEA. And most UAVs in the period are inefficient according to the global SOA frontiers. That is because the countries which develop UAVs are in the middle class of technological level, so more than 60% of world UAVs markets are shared by North America and Europe which are advanced countries in terms of technological maturity level. This study could give some insights for UAVs development and its advancement. And also can be used for evaluating the adequacy of Required Operational Capability (ROC) of suggested future systems and managing the progress of Research and Development (R&D).

  • They evaluate the bone age using the GP-BP (Greulich-Pyle and Bayley-Pinneau) and TW3 (Tanner-Whitehouse 3) in clinical. The skeletal maturity in Hand AP is evaluated by clinical experience of physicians and this is qualitative evaluation not same in every physicians. In order to devise and evaluate new methods not using TW3 method in this situation. The study was conducted with 70 (Male 35, Female 35) children who visited Yangsan P Hospital from March 2014 to March 2015. The study measured the length of growth plate and distal proximal phalanx and conducted regression analysis for statistical significance test of bone age length difference. The study found average and standard deviation corresponding to certain ranges each bone age. The more bone age increase, the more the length of growth plate and distal proximal phalanx decreased. The girls have less average rather than the boys because bone grows fast. The girls have first period age of 12 to 14, it appears length variation significantly. The study conducted regression analysis and this has statistical significance.

  • To avoid drought stress under rainfed upland conditions, it is important for rice to efficiently utilize water at shallow soil layers supplied by rainfall, and access to water retained in deer soil layers. The root developmental characteristics of rice, which play important role in the adaptability to drought conditions, vary depending on the variety. Moreover, water availability for plant differs depending on the soil types that have different physical properties such as water holding capacity, permeability, capillary force, penetration resistance, etc. In this study, we evaluated growth and yield responses of rice varieties to various soil water deficit conditions under three different soil types. The experiment was conducted in a plastic greenhouse at the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization-Mwea from October 2016 to January 2017. Two upland varieties (NERICA 1 and 4) and one lowland variety (Komboka) were grown in handmade PVC pots (15.2 cm diameter and 85.0 cm height) filled with three different types of soil collected from major rice-growing areas of the country, namely black cotton (BC), red clay (RC), and sandy clay (SC). Three watering methods, 1) supplying water only from the soil surface (W1), 2) supplying water only from the bottom of the pots (W2), and 3) supplying water both from the soil surface and the bottom of pots (W3), were imposed from 40 days after sowing to maturity. Soil water content (SWC) at 20, 40, and 60 cm depths was measured regularly. At the harvesting stage, aboveground and root samples were collected to determine total dry weight (TDW), grain yield, and root length at 0-20, 20-40, 40-60, and 60-80 cm soil layers. Irrespective of the watering methods, the greatest root development was obtained in RC, while that in BC was less than other two soils. In BC, the degree of yield reduction under W1 was less than that in RC and SC, which could be attributed to the higher water holding capacity of BC. In RC, the growth and yield reduction observed in all varieties under W1 was attributed to the severe drought stress. On the other hand, under W2, SWC at the shallow soil depth in RC was maintained because of its higher capillary force compared with BC and SC. As the result, growths and yields in RC were not suppressed under W2. In SC, deep root development was not promoted by W2 irrespective of the varieties, which resulted in significant yield losses. Under W1, the rice growth and yield in SC was decreased although shallow root development was enhanced, and the stomatal conductance was maintained higher than RC. It was suspected that W1 caused nutrients leaching in SC because of its higher permeability. Under rainfed conditions, growth and yield of rice can be strongly affected by soil types because dynamics of soil water conditions change according to soil physical properties.

  • This study carried out to investigate selection response of pure line population of layer chicken. Data for two layer pure line of Single Comb White Leghorn were collected from 1986 to 1991. Primary selection criteria were egg number to 270 days of age (EN270), egg weight(BW270), body weight (BW270) at 270 days of age and the days of the 1st egg(SM). The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows ; 1. Mean phenotypic values of two strains were decreased by 1.94 day(K), 1.320ay(F) for SM and increased by 0.09g(K), -0.05g(F) for EW 270 and 0.56(K), -0.78(F) for EN270. 2. The ratio of a realized selection differential to expected selection differentials for SM (sexual maturity), EW 270, and BW 270 were not significantly decreased during 5 generations. 3. Heritability were estimated from sib analysis. The means of estimates were 0.28(F), 0.39(K) for BW270, and 0.25(F), 0.29(K) for EN270 and 0.51(F), 0.48(K) for EW270. 4. The genetic gains were estimated by method of selection index in retrospect on the basis of selection differentials. EN270 and EW270 were found to increase by 2.01(F), 2.25(K) and 0.54 (F), 0.65(K) per generation.

  • In order to establish a rational application method of potash to paddy rice(Oryza sativa L. Jinheung, a Japonica variety) field and pot experiments on split application of two rates (6kg and 12kg $K_2O$ per 10a) of potash at a certain critical growing stage have conducted in 1973 and the results were as follows: 1. At the treatment where a rate of 6kg $K_2O$ per 10a(lower dose) of potash was supplied in two split doses, a half at transplanting time and the other half at young panicle formation stage, the yield of paddy rice appeatred to be low due to less number of panicles per hill. (Field experiment) 2. The treatment where potash supply ceased at transplanting time or at effective tillering stage but supplied at the other two stages (including panicle initiation stage) have failed to increase K content in the flag leaf and have shown low maturity and low thousand grain weight, which resulted in low paddy rice yield. (pot experiment) 3. From above two facts, it is concluded that the application of potash at transplanting time is an important practice for the high yielding of paddy rice. 4. The application of lime seemed to stimulate later growth of paddy depressing the unnecessary increase of poor miserable tillers in early stages of growth.

  • 1. Based upon an fertilizer experiment done in a farmer's field, with a medium maturity variety, Jinheung, (in 1969) a method of determination of nitrogen to be additionally given, at tillering and reproductive stages was studied. In this experiment, four kilograms of nitrogen per 0.1 ha was applied as basal dressing to all experimental treatments at transplanting time. 2. The application of nitrogen at the reproductive stage of paddy increased the yield remarkably and cut down the amount of nitrogen to be given at the tillering stage. The yield of paddy, 670kg/0.1 ha obtained by the application of 6.82kg N/0.1 ha at the reproductive stage far exceeded the yield, 644kg/0.1ha obtained when over 8kg N/0.1ha of N is applied at tillering stage alone. This emphasizes the importance of nitrogen top dressing at the reproductive stage. 3. As the amount of nitrogen to be given at both stages, reproductive and tillering, would be the reflection of soil fertility of the field, a correlative study between the amount of nitrogen to be given at both stages and soil analysis is suggested to be undertaken. 4. A study on the relationship between the amount of fertilizer to be given at stages different growth and yield components is suggested to be undertaken for the purpose of establishing a better fertilizer use technique.
