The purpose of this study is to conduct base line research, which is based on requestion of international married immigrant women, for developing social adaptation and family enrichment program for those population who reside in Korea. The survey questionnaire was distributed to 142 international married immigrant women who reside in Seoul to research program participate satisfaction and requestion. Analyze the study results, frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan-post test were utilized. As a result, overall satisfaction toward program that offered by organization was highly ranked. Visiting service showed high score of satisfaction but mentor service that strongly possess sacrifice showed lower score of satisfaction. Vocational and job-related skill improvement education presented less satisfied degree of satisfaction but cooking class, computer class, training education for native-speaking instructor present high level of satisfaction. Second, the requisition of target population, who did not participate program, presented lower than the satisfaction, still present high demand of variety area of program. Among them, assist child nurturing and vocational and job- related skill improvement education showed high demand. It enable to predict that they are eager to get support toward parent role and self-realization. Third, when the difference were analyzed to compare the subjective judgement toward life adaptation in Korea and the satisfaction for program user and the requisition of non-user, the meaningful differences were founded; especially, individuals who possess confident degree of computer skills and Korean(reading, speaking, and listening) showed higher degree of satisfaction to vocation and job-skill related improvement education. This study has a practical implication, which is based on the study results, on developing a program to support international married immigrant women and multicultural families to satisfactory settlement in Korea life and to maintain healthy families.

This study examined the work-family compatibility experience of married nurses. The participants of this research were 7 registered nurses who are on the expanding stage of their family life cycle. Data were collected by individual in-depth interviews from June 10 to November 30, 2015 and analyzed using phenomenological methodology by Colaizzi (1978). The results showed that the work-family compatibility experience of married nurses may be categorized into 4 categories, 'the reality of work and parenting', 'external and internal conflicts about the compatibility of work and parenting', 'compromise with reality for solving the difficulty of compatibility', 'growing desire and efforts for compatibility', and may be identified with 12 theme clusters and 29 themes. The worthiness as a professional woman and happiness in child rearing are the driving force of the compatibility of work and family in married nurses. Therefore, the continued support of government policies and family is important for married nurses to maintain work and family balance.

This study explored the essential meanings of experiences that married immigrant women living in rural communities have in their community participation process and analyzed the situations and types of their community participation in order to support immigration women's community participation and develop strategies for social welfare by type of community participation. For these purpose, we analyzed story outlines, meanings, types and situations of community participation among married immigrant women who had been over 5 years since their immigration. According to the results of this study, the meaning of married immigrant women's community participation was "Recognize myself as the pioneer of my life and participate in social activities continuously." In the results of analyzing the types of participation, the subjects were classified into 'self directed growth type,' 'self content type,' and 'social support expectation type.' The results of this study are expected to be helpful to understand the life of married immigrant women in rural areas not as 'individuals' otherized in a foreign country but as 'participants' of community that are encountered naturally in daily life, and to develop community level services suitable for such women.
This study was carried on between June first and July thirty-first 1976 using as subjects women living in the areas of Pusan, Kyoung Sang Buk Do and Kyoung Sang Nam Do. The subjects were divided into 3 groups according to different environments and styles of life, namely married life, widowhood and religious life and according to ages ranging between 45 and 55. Each of these 3 groups of women of .menopausal age consisted of 50 persons and totalling a group of 150. The subjects were chosen according to random sampling and the Cornell Medical Index was applied to discover physical and mental health status with the following results : 1. The total mean scores for complaints in the group of widows was 46.00, in the group of Married women was 37.10 and in the Sisters was 34.30 showing highest scores for the widows and lowest for the Sisters. 2. The mean score percentages for physical and mental complaints 28.80 and 16.50 respectively for the Widows:27.00 and 10.80 for the Married and 24.30 and 10.20 for the Sisters. 3. The highest number of mean scores for physical items was for digestive system complaints which showed a score of 5.04, 4.78 and 4.90 respectively for Widows, Married women and Sisters among the psychic status items all 3 groups showed highest scores for complaints of inadequacy: 5.52, 3.40 and 3.64 respectively. 4. In comparing the 2 groups of Married women and Widows, the highest significant differences appeared in the items of depression and sensitivity but there was also some significant difference in the items of inadequacy, anger, miscellaneous diseases and genito-urinary system complaints. 5. In comparing the Married women and Religious groups the highest significant differences according from the highest were as follows : cardiovascular system, sensitivity, tension, nervous system, frequent illnesses and anxiety.
The purpose of this study is to examine the differences in perceived time pressure between employed and non-employed married women in Korea. The sample of married couple from the Korean Time Use Survey 2009 (n = 6,948 couple diaries) was used to examined the difference in the level of perceived time pressure over the life cycle of two group. This study also investigated the married women's time use, husband's time use as well as hour of domestic outsourcing and whether such factors are associated with lowering perceived time pressure of married women. Results showed employed wives felt almost 3 times more time pressed than non-employed wives, and the gap mostly remained over different life cycles. Total work hours were associated with increasing the time pressure of both groups of women, while regenerating time was associated with ameliorating time pressure. The result suggests that the time pressure gap between employed and non-employed wives can be partly due to the relative length of total labor hours and regenerating time among the two groups. Ordered logit analysis revealed that husband's paid work hours were not associated with wive's feeling rushed, but husband' unpaid work hours were positively linked with time pressure of their wives. Results indicated if employed or non-employed wives are feeling very busy, there is a high chance that husband might give them some help. We found employed wives spend more hours on housework outsourcing, and purchasing goods for housework was not associated with lowering the feeling of pressure of employed wives. There were both similarity and difference in factors associated with women's feeling pressed among employed and non-employed wives. It implies that social process and it's strategies to alleviate the time pressure can be different by women's employment status.
The purpose of this study is to find the difference of household/work characteristics, family life satisfaction, and work satisfaction between home-based workers and out-of-home workers. The data of this study was collected from 230 married womens(home-based worker : 103 cases out-of-home worker : 127 cases) living in seoul. The major findings of the study are as follows. 1) Home-based worker's consumption expenditure structure, wive's housework time, schedule flexibility and degree of interruption, work loads were significantly higher than out-of-home workers. 2) Home-based worker's average monthly wage of her own and work time were significantly lower than out-of-home jokers. 3) Home-based worker's child care satisfaction and time use satisfaction were significantly higher than out-of-home workers. Out-of-home worker's self-fulfillment satisfaction, satisfaction of relation with supervisor, job stability satisfaction, work time satisfaction was significantly higher than home-based workers.
Family life culture embodies the ways of thinking and behaving among family members in everyday lives. With a noticeable growth of multicultural families since 2000, there has been an inflow of other culture into the existing Korean family life culture. This new phenomenon signals a potential transformation of the family life culture in Korean society. To forecast such changes, we compared the family life culture of Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families (as reported by 104 Korean husbands and their Vietnamese wives) with that of mainstream Korean families (as reported by 108 Korean married men and 92 Korean married women) by comparing family ritual practices and family values. We also sought to identify whether two cultures in Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families harmoniously coexist or clash by examining differences within couples. Results showed that Korean married men and Korean husbands of Vietnamese women were very similar in terms of family ritual practices and family values. Differences emerged between Korean husbands and their Vietnamese wives. Specifically, Korean husbands endorsed more traditional gender role beliefs while their family values were less patriarchal compared to their wives. Results suggest that more flexible gender role beliefs reported by Vietnamese wives may be a source of conflict in Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families. At the same time, it may be a driving force of change in their existing family life culture. It will be worthwhile to pay attention in future research to whether and how patriarchal values and flexible gender role beliefs would continue to coexist or modify each other.
The study was designed to examine the present state of the provider-role consciousness of married working women in Korea and to identify five variable-clusters which were drawn from the theoretical perspectives. The subjects of this study were 573 married working women whose husbands also had their work. The statistical methods adopted for data analyses were frequencies. oneway ANOVA. Scheffe-test t-test, and multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows; 1) The level of the provider-role consciousness of married working women was slightly high. 2) As for the aspects of the individual attribute variables. educational level job income age native area motive of work. and sex-role identity significantly influenced the provider-role consciousness of married working women. 3) Concerning the family background variables marriage duration number of children mother's experience of employment father's educational level and husbands's income were significantly related to the provider-role consciousness of married working women, 4) As for the social relationship variables. degree of participation in social associations significant others' attitudes toward housewife's work degree of domestic role sharing with husband and wife/husband income ration significantly affected the provider-role conscious-ness of married working women. Based on these findings it came to be revealed that multidirectional perspecitves were useful to identify variables which could predict the provider-role consciousness of married working women, Also it was revealed that the significant others' approvals for women's work were necessary to the establishment of the provider-role consciousness of married working women.
The main purpose of this article was to examine the general tendency of self-disclosure and perceived self-disclosure in married couples, and to study the effect of demographic variables on them. and to find out how dyadic trust affects on self-disclosure in married couples. Considering those purposes, the following research questions have been raised : 1) What is the general tendency of self-disclosure in married couples? 2) What is the general tendency of perceived self-disclosure in married couples? 3) Does perceived self-disclosure affect on self-disclosure in married couples? 4) How do the demographic varibles affect on self-disclosure in married couples? 5) Does dyadic trust affect on self-disclosure in married couples? To solve these questions, a questionnaires which consisted of 8 items for demographic variables, of which 8 questions are for dyadic trust, and 36 questions for self-disclosure in married couples was made. This reserch 몽 been conducted from April 4, 1990 to April 15, 1990. which surveyed 560 married men and women who are living in Seoul. Only answers from 432 married men and women were analysed out of them. The analytic methods adopted in this study were the frequency, the perentage, t-test, oneway ANOVA, DUNCAN -tst, and pearson's r. Especially SPSS/${pc}^+$ program was used in order to promate the feasibility in statistical analysis. The major findings of the study are as follows : 1) Self-disclosure in married couples in generally higher than expected(M=40.4) : wife's self-disclosure(M41.5) is higher than husband's self-disclosure(M=39.4) 2) Between self-disclosure and perceived self-disclosure in married couples correlated considerably high(husband r=0.67, wife r=.75) 3) Self-disclosure in married couples are affected by the variables such as age, length of marriage, everage family income a month. 4) Self-disclosure in married couples correlated relatively low with dyadic trust(husband r=0.21, wife r=.31)
The purpose of this study was to empirically verify the influence of certain variables on the psychological well-being of married men and women and to provide a basis for promoting the quality of life. The subjects of this study were 366 married men and women in Busan. The data was obtained through administering a self-reported questionnaire. Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS/WIN 10.0 and included frequencies, means, standard deviation, Chronbach'a, $$\chi$^2$, t-test, and regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, the scores for degree of income propriety, fate control orientation and material orientation of married men was higher than those of married women. The scores for degree of stress recognition and perceived equity showed no significant difference between men and women. The score for psychological well-being of married men and women was relatively low. The score of psychological well-being of married women(2.94) was higher than that of married men(2.67). Second, variables that affect the psychological well-being of married men were degree of income propriety(p>.001), degree of perceived stress(p>.001), fate control orientation(p>.001) and material orientation(p>.001). Variables that affect psychological well-being of married women were degree of income propriety(p>.001), degree of perceived stress (p>.001), fate control orientation(p>.001) and perceived equity(p>.01). The variable of perceived equity didn't affect psychological well-being of married men. The variable of material orientation didn't affect the psychological well-being of married women. Third, the influence level of the degree of income propriety of married men and women was the highest among the variables.
