  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of acupotomy for patients with Osteoarthritis on Knee using "Five-Finger placed to marking position". Methods : We treated 12 patients who have Osteoarthritis on Knee with acupotomy. Results : It was effective to 10 patients among the 12 patients. Conclusions : This study demonstrate that acupotomy using "Five-Finger placed to marking position" is useful effect on Osteoarthritis on Knee. As though we had not wide experience in this treatment, more research is needed.

  • This paper describes a novel stereo vision based localization of free parking site, which recognizes the target position of automatic parking system. Pixel structure classification and feature based stereo matching extract the 3D information of parking site in real time. The pixel structure represents intensity configuration around a pixel and the feature based stereo matching uses step-by-step investigation strategy to reduce computational load. This paper considers only parking site divided by marking, which is generally drawn according to relevant standards. Parking site marking is separated by plane surface constraint and is transformed into bird's eye view, on which template matching is performed to determine the location of parking site. Obstacle depth map, which is generated from the disparity of adjacent vehicles, can be used as the guideline of template matching by limiting search range and orientation. Proposed method using both the obstacle depth map and the bird's eye view of parking site marking increases operation speed and robustness to visual noise by effectively limiting search range.

  • Forensic Marking is the technology that enables the service providers (SP) to identify the illegal digital contents distributors by first inserting markings (data indicating the user information and playback time) in realtime into the digital contents at time of playback of digital contents, and then later by extracting inserted markings from the contents which are illegally captured from the multimedia device such as IPTV STBs and distributed over the Internet. Digital Rights Management (DRM), which is a very popular content protection technology, has the security hole that can be vulnerable because the encrypted digital contents are transformed into their original plaintext forms after the decrypting process on the STBs. Therefore Forensic Marking (FM) has now become a companion content protection solution to DRM. This article describes a new way of tracking up to 4 illegal content users in FM implementation using the blue-difference chroma component of YCbCr color space. This FM technology has many advantages like fast processing time and easy portability to STB devices compared to that of the traditional watermarking processing in the frequency domain.

  • We employed home-made position marking module in the scanning Hall probe system. The module is composed of two coils of which gap, a, between wires in a coil is $500{\mu}m$. We appiled 10-35mA of current with 15Hz in the coils and recorded ac corresponding magnetic field signal with respect to measuring time while we measured DC field profiles produced due to superconducting film in a perpendicular magnetic field. We calibrate the position, x, of coils using the measuring time and location of the coils in the holder. The error range was about ${\pm}0.1mm$. We test the module as we applied current of 100A and filed of 1kG in the superconducting tape. It was confirmed that there was no interference between superconducting tape and marking coils.

Night Visibility Evaluation of Phosphorescent Road Line Markings (축광 노면표시의 야간 시인성 평가를 위한 기초 연구)

  • PURPOSES : In this study, we evaluated changes in the retroreflectivity and luminance of phosphorescent road line markings with changes in glass beads and line marking thickness. METHODS : The color of line markings affects their retroreflectivity. Using a chromaticity test, we conducted the analysis of whether phosphorescent road line markings adhered to the "KS M 6080" standard. Then, we measured the dry retroreflectivity and wet retroreflectivity for various glass bead refractive indices. We conducted wet retroreflectivity test using the EN 1436 standard as the basis. We also conducted luminance tests for different glass bead refractive indices and line marking thicknesses. RESULTS : 1. Phosphorescent road line markings specimens satisfied the "KS M 6080" standard. 2. In dry retroreflectivity test, phosphorescent road line markings sprayed with glass beads satisfied the national police agency standard ($240mcd/(m^2{\cdot}Lux)$). Wet retroreflectivity test results showed that except for one type of No.1 glass beads, phosphorescent road line markings specimens sprayed with glass beads of one type of No.3 and two types of No.1 satisfied the national police agency standard ($100mcd/(m^2{\cdot}Lux)$). 3. Phosphorescent road line markings had higher retroreflectivity than non-phosphorescent road line markings in the dry condition. 4. Phosphorescent road line markings sprayed with glass beads demonstrated improved luminance. Luminance increased with higher glass bead refractive index and with increased line marking thickness. However, when the thickness crossed a certain threshold, phosphorescence ceased to increase; this is a characteristic of the phosphorescence phenomenon. CONCLUSIONS : Visibility across short distances can be ensured when phosphorescent road line markings are sprayed with glass beads, because of the retroreflection phenomenon. It is also possible to ensure far visibility using phosphorescent road line markings.

Some Facts in the Course of the Segregation and Selection of the Sex-limited Inheritance Character of Silkworm Larval Marking (한성형잠 분리 선발 과정에서의 몇 가지 사실에 관하여)

  • This experiment was carried out to obtain a marked larvae in sex-limited inheritance, using F$_1$ hybrid Bo ok X Chun san introduced from Japan. Sequence of backcrossing has been done through the earlier generation with a recessive character of plain marked larvae. 1. It is noted that genotypic segregation of sex-limited larval marking was observed in F$_4$ generation; female possesses larval marking and male shows a plain marking. 2. Larval marking heredity follows a diagram of segregation with an expected genotype such as ♀ : (W$.$+p)/Z$.$P/P and ♂ : Z/Z$.$P/P. 3. It is observed that dissociation was occurred to produce female with a genotype of W/Z$.$P/P in segregation ana selection. 4. Abnormal ratio of sexuality is observed in the course of segregation and segregation and analysis of it is continuously under way. 5, It is observed that the difference of qualitative characteristics between female and male obtained from the original variety shows the same tendency as the normal marked variety.

Mathematical Analysis on the Perception of Pavement Markings Using 'Math Field Trip' (수학답사를 통한 도로 노면표시의 인지에 대한 수학적 분석)

  • The study documents the analysis on characters and symbols shown in the pavement markings in the perspective of mathematics educators. The purpose of this study is to propose a pavement marking method that can enhance readability from the driver's eye position. To this end, this study analyzed the figure of the pavement markings that can be actually recognized by the projective geometry perspective. As a result, it proposed alternatives to the current pavement markings by introducing the concept of the compression ratio. Results of the study are as follows. First, the rule was established to obtain the compression ratio. If the observation of two viewing angles are x and y, then the compression ratio S is ${\sin}y/{\cos}\(\frac{x-y}{2}\)$. Second, we presented two alternatives to the pavement marking method for the displayed information. One is a method for improving the pavement markings in terms of the compression ratio, the other is a method by varying vertical length of the pavement markings while holding its width constant. Based on the outcomes from this study, a mathematical analysis can be further studied for the perception of speed according to the types of pavement marking line.

  • Laser slide marking systems are being considered by the staffs of clinical laboratories in hospitals as the main potential substituent for the conventional manual processes of the laboratory works. Many of the processes in domestic hospitals such as operations of test equipments in clinical laboratories and physical distributions in hospitals are being computerized due to the recent development of information technologies. The clinical laboratories in charge of inspection processes are putting their efforts on the computerization and automation of the test equipments, which increases the demand for the usage of laser marking slide systems which is the main component of the inspection works. The domestic market size of the laser slide marking systems is expected to be 250 million won in 2008, which is believed to increase to 1.75 billion won in 2012. The laser slide marking system was first introduced to domestic hospitals in 2005. It's product life cycle is currently on the early stage, and it is believed to have a very high growth potential in the future.

  • Ship design engineering refers to the development and design of shipbuilding architectures in a drawing which reflects all relevant manufacturing processes. This paper provides analysis methods for model-information interfaces between hull structure design and outfitting design, and a technical application for manufacturing phases reflecting the pipe support pad and angle item automatically. The existing information procedure of pipe support pad and angle system processes information using drawing without model specification. Outfitting design team directly distributes drawings to the shop floor then manual-based marking and installation work are conducted refer to the distributed drawings. As a result, this process has become time consuming and causes problems in the productivity and quality improvement due to the rework caused by omitted or incorrect marking. The pipe support pad and angle marking is a method that automatically updates model information to hull structure design using sets of data that analyse the generated model in outfitting design processes. Therefore, this approach provides an efficient solution through design references without manual activities such as a reflection of hull structure design, cutting process, numerical control work, and dimension measurement and marking. The conversion of a method from the existing procedure based on manual marking to the reflective and automatic approach would have enabled to proceed installation work without manual activities for the measurement. Therefore, this research study proposes an efficient approach using pre-data analysis of model information interfaces between design and manufacturing phases to improve productivity during construction for shipbuilding.

An Evaluation on the Length of Guidance Lane Marking on Expressways Using Virtual Driving Simulator (가상주행 시뮬레이터를 활용한 고속도로 차로유도선 적정 연장길이 산정 연구)

  • Expressway network which plays an important role on land transportation system, have been developing quantitatively and qualitatively with $7{\times}9$ structure. To cope with complex geometric condition, guidance lane marking has been installed to induce safer lane-changing maneuver. However, there is no standard on guidance lane marking and its effectiveness is also verified with limited scope. The major purpose of this research is to clarify its effectiveness in terms of driving safety aspect using virtual driving simulator and to suggest standard on the proper length. To carry this out, preference data from subjects was collected and lane-changing pattern within virtual driving environment was investigated. In addition, in order to quantify the level of comfort, Electroencephalogram data was collected and validated using statistical test. Finally, it is expected that this research can be used to establish standard on guidance lane marking.
