A Study on the Impact of Knowledge Management Activities on Business Performance in the Sales Organization of ICT Companies (ICT 기업의 영업조직에서 지식경영 활동이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Maintaining the permanence of a company in the current rapidly changing business environment is not an easy task. Rather, the lifespan of a company can be said to be gradually decreasing. As such, the author of this paper, which describes the current market environment, is the sales organization of a large company. While leading the company, I thought about how to overcome the rapidly changing market and create an organization that continues to grow. As a result, I succeeded in creating an organization that continued to grow over the past two years, and the main activity of this result was the use of sales computer. It was clear that it was an information sharing activity. This can be said to be a result of proving that a series of activities to create and share information is important for the sales organization of ICT companies to actively respond to the rapidly changing market environment. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the relationship between knowledge management and business performance in the sales field of ICT companies, which has not been covered so far. Knowledge management is a four-stage activity from a process perspective, divided into knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and knowledge utilization. did. As a result of the study, first, knowledge management activities, such as knowledge creation and knowledge storage, were found to have a significant impact on financial performance. Second, knowledge management activities such as knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and knowledge utilization were all found to have an impact on non-financial performance. In the end, this study confirmed that efforts to turn tacit knowledge into knowledge in order to respond to the ever-changing ICT market are ultimately an important factor in growing a company.

  • This study examined the impact of failure tolerance on exploration and exploitation activities and the impact of these activities on management performance in the representatives of re-start-up companies. Recently, policy and social support for re-starting businesses has been increasing. This study seeks to verify whether the psychological factors of the re-founder are related to management performance. Therefore, a research model that combines failure tolerance, which is a psychological and pedagogical variable, and management performance, which is a management variable, was presented and empirical analysis was made. The research targets were conducted on re-founders who received funding from Korea SMEs & Startups Agency. The analysis of the psychological characteristics of the re-start-up, failure tolerance and the effect on the exploration and exploitation activity, all showed positive effects, and the analysis of the effect of the exploration and exploitation activity on the management performance, showed that the exploration activity did not affect, and the exploitation activity had a positive effect. This study is intended to provide theoretical and practical implications.

A Study on the Impact of Continuous Improvement Activities of Defense SMEs on the SCQM and Business Performance (방산 중소기업의 지속적 개선활동이 공급망 품질경영활동과 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study analyzes the characteristics of the Quality Management performed by SMEs in the Defense Industry in supply chains and analyzes the effect of the continuous improvement activities based on cooperation. Especially, for Military Supplies, the suitability of products is usually decided by judging their conformity to the specification, and from this structural characteristic, this study would analyze the structural relationship of systematic improvement activities with Supply Chain Quality Management(SCQM) and Business Performance(BP). Methods: Continuous improvement activities(CI) have significance as the driver force for the promotion of Quality Management. Thus, this study analyzed the causal relationships from the perspective of the process among CI, SCQM and BP. For an analysis of the structural characteristics and causal relationships among the constituents, AMOS was used, and 297 companies in the Defense Industry were utilized as samples. Results: It turned out that CI had significant impacts on Management Infra(MGT_Infra), Process Management(PM), Human Resources Management(HRM) and Communication(COMU) and had an indirect impact on the enterprises' financial performance through the parameters of HRM and Communication. Meanwhile, it turned out that between CI and non-financial performance, there was a direct effect, and there was also an indirect effect through the variables of the Management Infra and Communication. Conclusion: It turned out that CI had a positive effect on SCQM as a proactive driver and that they had significant relationships with BP(financial, Non-financial), both financial performance and non-financial performance. However, PM did not have a significant relationship of effect with BP because of the character appearing by the evaluation method of military supplies for the conformity to the specifications.

  • Purpose: In modern corporate management, the establishment of a crisis management system that minimizes damage through measures used to respond to corporate crises is no longer an option. The importance of corporate reputation and brand asset management in modern enterprise management cannot be overemphasized and negative events that might arise from a number of different causes can cause brand crises. Research design, data and methodology: More than half of the questionnaire respondents were female (252 or 53%). More than a fourth of the respondents were aged 20 (122 or 26%) and the number of married participants was 196 (41%). Of the participants, 32% (153) had graduated from college. Only 18% (87) were employees and the monthly household income was 121. In this study, we conducted factor analysis in order to extract the variables that may enhance the explanation capability of each variable. For the method of factor extraction, an Eigen value of at least 1 was used as was factor loading. An analysis was performed using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient to verify the reliability of the measurement scale. Results: First, the analysis of the impact of the social responsibility activities on brand image revealed that the social, economic, philanthropic, ethical, and environmental responsibility activities significantly affected brand image, but legal responsibility activities were not statistically significant. Second, the analysis of the impact of brand image on loyalty showed that brand image had a significant impact on loyalty. Third, the analysis of the impact of social responsibility activities on loyalty showed that they had a significant impact on loyalty. Conclusions: The pro-social enterprise image is not only a brand asset that can be shared, but also a heavy proposition followed by a corresponding social responsibility, it will have to practice transparent corporate management based on clear principles through the establishment of various systems and the implementation of a strict code of conduct within the enterprise.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the determinants of knowledge management adoption through the analysis which examine structural relationships among knowledge management-based structure, knowledge management activities and business performance using the BSC(Balanced Scorecard) perspective. This study also gives the suggestion for the effective knowledge management implementation in the korean companies. This study has been conducted using the data collected from 91 companies implementing knowledge management. By analyses of the questionnaires, empirical results show that 3 factors of knowledge management-based structure, except organizational structure, have positive effect on knowledge management activities, and the implementation of knowledge management activities has positive effect on business performance with 3 perspectives of BSC, except financial performance. This study showed that more consideration are essential to obtain balanced business performance for companies with knowledge management adoption plan.

  • This study has performed to propose the plan of effective career management systematically for the enhancement of mutual communication with internal and external customers based on the effect of career management activity in hospital organization on the job instability for administrative staff's. Data was collected from 192 hospital administrative staff's located in Busan area where 7 general hospitals and 7 hospitals were involved, and examined the factor analysis, the reliability, the regression analysis and the correlation analysis using SPSS statistical program. The organizational career management activities were classified into direct and indirect activities through the verification of validity and internal consistency, and the job instability was influenced by the direct career management activities. "Consider of countermeasure of necessary training required for the career of staff's" has the strongest relationship with the job instability among the organizational direct career management activities, and "Provide sufficient information service for new job opportunity" and "Develope career management plan participate with the staff's" were also relatively shown the higher relationship. Thus, it was indicated that the organizational effective career management activities for the enhancement of mutual communication with customers were necessary for the strategy establishment of career management activities.

  • This study aimis to identify policy priorities for promoting youth activities through the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). IPA is used to identify policy priorities for promoting local youth activities. The IPA tabulated result is presented in a two-dimensional grid to showing for promoting local youth activities, The require concentrate support part is divided into 3 parts. Problem solve supporting at work development of leisure activities programs, leisure activities programs developing and development of leisure-related professionals. And leisure-related professionals developing. The next parts that require continuous management were divided into four parts. Creating rental housing for young people, support for housing expenses supporting, loans supporting, and Holiday guaranteed. Based on the factors that support youth activities that make up the IPA matrix, the implications of revitalizing local youth activities is presented as below. First, ensuring employment of local youth and efforts to create sustainable jobs. Second, continuous efforts to improve the housing conditions of local youth, and third, policy support is needed for local youth to do various leisure activities.

  • The purpose of VE (Value Engineering) activities is to come to an achievement of building necessary functions at the lowest possible cost. This study unfolds the co-VE activities which occurred between Gas Range and its partner company in the supply of Grill Body. The co-VE activity has accomplished the cost reduction of about 57 million through performing the function deployment of 12 parts and by devising the alternatives.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the management of nutrition programs in kindergarten and the implementation of educational activities during snack and lunch times. The study also investigated early childhood teachers' understanding of the management of the nutrition program. 259 early childhood teachers responded to a questionnaire developed by the researchers. It was found that there was no effort to provide educational activities through snack and lunch times, implying the necessity of inservice training programs for early childhood teachers.

Understanding Organizational Characteristics in UK SMEs; The Factors and R&D

  • This article is concerned with the importance of organisation management and its characteristics in business performance in SMEs, and tested by four main aspects: managerial strategies, organisational structure, leader behaviour, and R&D activities. These relationships were tested with questionnaire data from a random sample of 87 firms. Results from simple statistics on each issue showed that SMEs have focused on the corporate growth and management goals, the democratic leadership, decentralisation in organisational structure, and the technology development plans. Results from correlation analyses not only found significant relationships between managerial strategy and R&D activities but also showed differences in R&D activities according to structural status or leadership style, respectively.
