This study aimed to explore self-esteem influencing variables such as appearance stress, sex-role identity, and depression, in order to assess self-esteem standards for children and adolescents. It also investigated mediating effects of sex-role identity and depression on self-esteem. The study subjects were 2,511 elementary students and 2,958 middle school students, selected using the Korea Adolescence Panel Data. The data collected from interviews were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, t test, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple regression. The main results were as follows: Firstly, appearance stress and depression of female students were higher than those of male students. However, sex-role identity of male students was higher than those of female students. Difference in self-esteem was not statistically significant between male and female students (P > 0.05). Secondly, appearance stress was positively correlated to sex-role identity and depression, but negatively correlated to selfesteem. Thirdly, sex-role identity and depression had a mediating affect on self-esteem. Finally, variables affecting self-esteem of children and adolescents were appearance stress, men-role identity, and depression. In addition to these variables, women-role identity was a major factor for female students.
Purpose. To analysis the refractive error in 7-9 year-old Korea children. Methods. From July 2013 to June 2014, two hundred eighty two subjects were performed in refraction test using the Auto-Refractometry. Results. The refractive error by spherical equivalent among all subjects was myopia 47.58%, emmetropia 42.35%, astigmatism 32.33%, and hyperopia 8.76%. Myopia was more common in female than males although the difference was not statically significant. The axis of astigmatism was with the rule in 65%, against the rule in 31.5%, and oblique in 3.5% There was a statistical significance between 7 year and 9 year of male in the spherical equivalent power(p=0.010). Also there was a statistical significance between 7 years and 9 years of female in the spherical equivalent power(p=0.036). However, there was not a statistical significance between male and female in spherical equivalent power(p>0.5). Conclusions. In this study, myopia was the most common refractive error. On the other hand, The prevalence of the axis of astigmatism was the with- the- rule. The spherical equivalent of refractive error was similar results between male and female. However The refractive error was different style with aging. these data suggested that the analysis of the refractive error at young children can provide the information of useful diagnosis for the correction of visual acuity.
This report is aimed to be used as the basic research resource about the various form expression about the picture books, based upon the analysis whether male and female children are different from their preferences to illustrations and whether the expression form between male and female children are different from the other. The objects of study are one hundred and sixteen's of 6 to 7 years old children (male 58 vs. female 58) who are able to understand the illustration. The two times of response surveys were done with one hand is to interview an individual child and the other hand is to fill out by children. The methods used in this study are composed of the representable, simple, exaggerated, and distorted form of expression in order to draw the detail and precise reactions of male and female children In the case of preference analysis of male and female about the illustration, both male and female prefer the distorted form which express contradictively rather than the real, representable, simple, and exaggerate form of expression or which expresses the distorted and the changed by the binding of different things. In the respect of the responses, the various responses were seen to the simple and the exaggerated form in comparative with the representable form. In the respect of the analysis of language response, the individual response was highly marked to the representable form, and the informational response, the heuristic response, and the imaginative response.

Recent patterns of Enterobius vermicularis infection in some kindergarten children was per-formed in Taegu and Kyongbuk Area from June 1, 1993 through August 30, 1995. A total of 1,087 children (male 611 and female 476) were examined by Graham's scotch tape method. Of 643 urban children,62(9.6%) were infected by E. vermicularis, and of 444 rural children,45(10.1%)were infected. Of 354 male children in urban area 40(11.3%) were E. vermicularis positive and of 257 male children in rural area,28(10.9%) were E. vermicularis positive. Of 128 children in the age of 7 years old in urban area,7(5.1%) were E. vermicularis positive but of 87 children in the same age group in rural area,21(24.1%) were E. vermicularis positive (P〈0.01). Of 354 male children in urban area,40(11.3%) were E. vermicularis positive and of 289 female children in the same area 22(7.6%) were infected by E. vermicularis. The E. vermicularis infection rates in the children in the age group of 4,5, and 6 were 6.3%, 8.4% and 19.3% respectively, and the rate for 7 year old children was 5.5% (P 〈0.01). In rural area, 28(10.9%) of 257 male children had E. vermicularis and 17(9.1%) of 187 female children had E. vermicularis. The E. ver-micularis infection rates in the age groups of 4, 5, 6 and 7 were 2.3%, 7.0% 9.8% and 24.1% respectively and the difference in rates were statistically significant (P 〈0.01).
Using a sample from Korea Education Employment Panel(KEEP), this study attempts to ascertain determinants of demand for alternative education in Korea. It found that children's gender and duration of computer use exert a strong effect on demand for alternative education. Also, those parents, who show more interest in government's education policy; are less content with the schools their children are attending; and exhibit the higher likelihood of migration for children's education, appear to have the stronger tendency to seek alternative education for their children. Meanwhile, there was a significant difference between male and female students in the factors that influence demand for alternative education. For male students, duration of computer use and the parents' interest in government's education policy tend to matter. For female students, however, health condition seems to be associated with demand for alternative education. For both male and female students, those parents' who are more discontent with the schools their children are attending and/or have the higher likelihood of migration for children's education seem more likely to send their children to alternative schools.

The results were as followings; 1. The time of actively develop:ng tooth germ was observed about 10 years old both in male and in female. 2. The increasing rate of development of tooth germ a year was higher in female than in male at mandibular 1st premolar and in male than in female at mandibular 2nd premolar. 3. Age of complete tooth germ development was earlier in female than in male at mandibular 1st and 2nd premolars.
This paper was performed to comparative study with the children's body strength status of Ethnic Korean in China and Korea. The subjects of this study were the students of each elementary school located in a rural and a urban areas in China. To compared the level of their body strength status, we investigated to the students of 2 elementary schools as comparatives group on Kojae Area in Korea. We used students' physical record in the school. The contents of the study were the body weight, the chest circumstance, and the body height of the subjects. To make out the level of the students' physique, we measured by Rohrer Index output through above body height and body weight of them. The results of this study were as follows; 1. In the case of Ethnic Korean in China, the average body weight(kilogram) is $28.94{\pm}6.68$ in male $28.51{\pm}7.58$ in female. Comparatively, the average body weight in the case of Korean is 31. $99{\pm}7.23$ in male and $31.74{\pm}7.82$ in female. The average body height of Ethnic Korean is inferior about 2-5 Kilograms to that of Korean. 2. The average chest circumstance (centimeter) is $63.51{\pm}5.21$ in male $63.05{\pm}5.87$ in female of Ethnic Korean, $65.54{\pm}6.43$ in male and $64.57{\pm}7.81$ in female of Korean. Compared to between two group, the average chest circumstance of Ethnic Korean is inferior about 2-4 centimeters to that of Korean. 3. The average body height (centimeter) of Ethnic Korean is $135.28{\pm}8.96$ in male $134.82{\pm}9.74$ in female, and that of Korean is $136.68{\pm}9.12$ in male and $136.10{\pm}9.92$ in female. Like the preceding below results, the average body height of Ethnic Korean is inferior about 2-5 centimeters to that of Korean. 4. Compared to the fullness degree of physique between two group using Rohrer Index, Ethnic Korean is thiner than Korean. 5. Temporary, in case of children from 10 to 12 years old, female is superior to male through the index contained of the body weight, the chest circumstance, and the body height. It seems that female and male had different maximum growth age.

Objectives: The reproductive health of female workers has been extensively investigated in South Korea and other countries worldwide. However, few studies have discussed the reproductive health of male workers. In this study, we reviewed the recent literature that reports on the effects of occupational exposure on the reproductive health of male workers and the health of their children. Methods: In May 2020 we used the PubMed search engine to search the literature over the last 10 years and chose case-control, cohort, and cross-sectional studies and reviews. We selected epidemiological studies that investigated the association between pre-pregnant occupational exposure and the reproductive health of male workers and the health of their children. We excluded case reports, non-epidemiological studies (animal experiments, cellular-level experiments, and similar articles), and studies that described postnatal occupational exposure. Results: We eventually selected 23 studies. The studies that included exclusively male workers reported that those employed in the agricultural sector or those exposed to pesticides showed lower blood levels of reproductive hormones and a high risk of lympho-hematopoietic system cancer in their children. Male workers exposed to complex organic solvents and organic compounds showed a high risk of poor semen quality, increased time to pregnancy, decreased blood levels of reproductive hormones, and a high risk of lympho-hematopoietic system cancer in their children. Male workers employed in occupations that involved significant social contact, or in the leather and livestock industries, and in occupations with high levels of exposure to lead and organic solvents showed a high risk of malignancies, including lympho-hematopoietic system cancer, neuroblastoma, and central nervous system tumors in their children. Studies that investigated both male and female workers reported that children of male smelters showed a high risk of premature birth, and children of male workers exposed to metals showed a high risk of hypospadias and cryptorchidism. Children of male welders and workers employed in the glass, ceramic, and tile industries showed a high risk of premature birth. Conclusion: The findings of this study will serve as basic data for further research on male workers' reproductive health and provide a scientific basis for the development of strategies to protect the reproductive health of males employed in high-risk occupations. Moreover, the results of this study may provide guidelines to improve the understanding of and knowledge on male workers' reproductive health.

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between self-concept and clothing behavior of elementary school children. For this purpose. 301 third and sixth graders two schools in Daegu-city were sampled. The \`Test of Self-Concept\` and \`Questionnaire on the Clothing Behavior\` were administered purpose of this study. The collected data were analyzed by the SPSS/PC Windows programs according to the research issues. Means and standard deviations were calculated and a three-way analysis of variance was applied to analyze the effects of grades, sex(gender) and self-concept on the clothing behavior. The major results of this study were as follows: 1. It was found that the mean score of the clothing behavior was significantly different depending the level of self-concept (group). The mean scores of manageability. psychological dependency interest and conformity of the high self-concept. group were significantly higher than those of the low self-concept group. But. there was no significant difference between the high and low self-concept groups in the mean score of comformity. 2. There were statistically significant differences between the sex of children in the mean score of the clothing behavior. It was found that the mean score of manageability, psychological dependency and interest of the female students were significantly higher than those of the male students. However the mean score of the comfortability of male students was significantly higher than that of the female students. In the meantime there was no significant difference between the sex of students in the mean score of comformity. 3. There were statistically significant differences in the mean score of the clothing behavior according to the graders of children . It was found that the mean scores of manageability, psychological dependency, interest and comfortability of the third graders were significantly higher those that of the sixth graders. But, there was no significant difference depending the grades of students in the mean score of conformity. 4. There were statistically significant interaction effects between the sex and the grade of children on the mean score of interest and comfortability. It was found that the mean score of interest of male third graders was higher than that of male sixth graders. The mean score of comfortability of the female third graders higher than that of sixth graders.
