Purpose: This study aimed to understand the keywords and major topics of the educational goals and objectives of nursing educational institutions in South Korea. Methods: From May 10 to May 20, 2022, the educational goals and objectives of all 201 nursing educational institutions in South Korea were collected. Using the NetMiner program, degree and degree centrality, semantic structure, and topic modeling were analyzed. Results: The top keywords and semantic structures of educational goals included 'respect for human (life)-spirit-science-based on, global-competency-professional nurse-nursing personnel-training, professional-science-knowledge-skills, and patients-therapeutic care-relationship.' The educational goals' major topics were clients well-being based on science and respect for human life, a practicing nurse with capabilities and spirit, fostering a nursing personnel with creativity and professionalism, and training of global nurses. The top keywords and semantic structures of the educational objectives included 'holistic care-nursing-research-action-capability, critical thinking-health-problem solving-capability, and efficiency-communication-collaboration-capability.' The educational objectives' major topics were 'nursing professionalism, communication and problem-solving capability; a change of healthcare environments and a progress of nursing practices; fostering professional nurses with creativity and global capability; and clients' health and nursing practice.' Conclusion: Educational goals in nursing presented specific nursing values and concepts, such as respect for human life, therapeutic care relationships, and the promotion of well-being. Educational objectives in nursing presented the competencies of nurses as defined by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education (KABONE). Recently, the KABONE announced new program outcomes and competencies, which will require the revision of educational goals. To achieve those educational objectives, it is suggested that the expected level of competencies be clearly defined for nursing graduates.
For women living with mental illness, motherhood may be a normalizing life experiences and offers the opportunity to develop competencies in a major life roles. So, the main premise of this study that social contexts, social support of spouse and extended family, is very important for successful parenting of mothers with mental illness. Thus this study analyzes the impact of marital relationship and social support of networks on three dimensions of parenting competency(expression of love, encouragement of independence, rational discipline) when the socioeconomic(age, number of offsprings, subjective economic level) and disability variables(diagnosis, severity of symptoms, chronicity, frequencies of psychiatric admission) are controlled. This study conducted the survey with 145 mothers with schizophrenia and mood disorder. The major finding of the study are : i) Using step-wise multiple regression, marital relationship, social supports and economic level affect significantly on the expression of love. ii) Using step-wise multiple regression, the most powerful influenced factor on encouragement of independence is marital relationship. iii) Using step-wise multiple regression, diagnosis, severity of symptoms, chronicity and economic level affect significantly on the rational discipline. That is two dimensions of parenting competency, expression of love and encouragement of independence, can be explained well by social contexts variables(marital relationship, social support, economic level). But only rational discipline can be explain well by disability factors. In conclusion, this study recommends service providers to use family based comprehensive case management for the mothers with mental illness.
The era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is increasingly demanding mathematical competencies for virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and the like. In this context, this study intended to identify the basic mathematical competency levels of university freshman students in radiology department and to provide basic data thereon. For this, the diagnostic assessment of basic learning competencies for the domain of mathematics was conducted from June 17, 2019 to June 28, 2019 among 78 freshman students of radiology department at S university and D university. As a result, the university students' overall basic mathematical competency levels were diagnosed to be excellent. However, their levels in the sectors of the geometry and vector and the probability and statistics were diagnosed to be moderate, with the mean scores of 2.61 points and 2.64 points, respectively, which were found to be lower than those of the other sections. As for basic mathematical competency levels according to genders, the levels of male students and female students were diagnosed to be excellent, with the mean scores of 17.48 points and 16.29 points, respectively, showing no statistically significant difference (p>0.05). Given the small number of subjects and regional restriction, there might be some limitations in the generalization of the findings of the present study to all university freshman students and all departments. The above results suggest that it is necessary to implement various programs such as student level-based special lectures for enhancing basic mathematical competencies relating to major in order to improve the basic mathematical competencies of freshman students in radiology department, and that it is necessary to increase the students' mathematical competencies by offering major math courses in the curriculum and applying teaching-learning methods matching students' levels.
This paper is a study on the perception of current competency and expected competency of engineering freshmen by extracting core competencies acquired from university education. It also aims to suggest proper way for engineering university education. This study extracts competencies in the following five areas as core competencies: 'knowledge on major area', 'cultural ability', 'foreign language ability', 'basic learning ability', 'intercommunication ability'. To achieve this purpose, this study surveyed 'C' university engineering department freshmen (584 students) with questionnaires about their perception of core competencies. The results are as follows. First, engineering freshmen perceived current competencies were weak in every area, especially their capacities in 'foreign language ability' area were perceived to be weakest. Their demand for education is the highest in 'foreign language ability' area, and the second higher in 'knowledge on major area'. Secondly, there exists meaningful difference between perception of current competency and expected competency depending on the gender, high school department (science/liberal arts), high school location, types of college admissions, and types of mathematics in NAST. According to these results, this study suggests enhancement of foreign language (English) education in engineering department, design and implementation of various educational program to overcome individual difference, promoting importance of competencies in the 'cultural abilty' and 'intercommunication abilty', necessity of continuous adjustment and complementation for engineering educational program through accumulation of feedback processes, activation of career education through engineering education and special programs.
Recently, almost all industries are focusing on improving the competency of related industry workers, and it is necessary to design a systematic educational activity plan that constructs, operates and evaluates learning experiences for knowledge, technology and literacy development required in the industrial field. This study performed a questionnaire survey on students' satisfaction with 2015 and 2014 curriculum and national competency standards (NCS)-based one which has been applied since March 2016 against those from Department of Beauty & Cosmetology, 'C' University. For data analysis, frequency analysis, qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis were conducted, and the results found the followings: The NCS-based curriculum which has been applied since 2016 is more advanced than 2015 and 2014 curriculum in terms of strength, weakness, risk and opportunity. In addition, their satisfaction with curriculum was more than average with 47.9-57.2%. Meanwhile, when asked their favorite time to decide their academic major, 79.5% answered, '2nd semester of the 1st year'. They were very dissatisfied with the fact that their academic major is decided in the second year. It is anticipated that the NCS-based 2-year curriculum for Dept. of Beauty & Cosmetology is redesigned through analysis of students' satisfaction and by reflecting their opinions. It is also expected that the reorganization of the curriculum in a more practical and systematic manner would increase students' satisfaction and generate workforce for cosmetology industry.
Competency cannot be transformed as knowledge, so the operation of competency-based curriculum requires support from the extracurriculum that gives many opportunities practical experience. Therefore, many universities establish the own extracurricular courses by using much financial, human, and physical infrastructure. However, it is doubtful whether the extracurriculum is effective on cultivating competencies, what kinds of programs is useful to nurture right abilities, how to assess the outcome of implementing of the extracurriculum. For these reason, the accreditation system, that awards to student who accomplish certain programs based on the given standard, has been used as the tool to manage outcome achieved by the extracurriculum. This study aimed to investigate the outcome of the accreditation system of K university in order to verify its effectiveness for cultivating competencies through the extracurriculum. Through the analysis of prior research, it could be inferred that students who achieved the accreditation system would be able to cultivate relevant competencies, improve major abilities, and instill a positive image of related administrative departments while participating in various programs. Thus, this study collected data of those who achieved the accreditation and did not by participating at least once in extracurricular program from March 2020 to February 2021 to compare their results of the diagnosis of core competencies and student circumstances, and survey of educational satisfaction and interpreted interviews of 10 students, excellent certifier. As a result, it was verified that the more evenly participating in various programs to achieve the accreditation system, the more diverse competency was obtained, and the satisfaction with the student support department and major education was improved.
This study started from the practical need for a career experience program in the fashion major that is creative and responds to current methodologies. The purpose of this study is to propose a fashion work experience program that combines digital technology and practical experience. The research methods and procedures were as follows: fashion items and wearable devices were selected, the LED smart bag program was developed, and it was executed. A total of 123 students participated in the program, and a satisfaction survey was conducted after observation and oral evaluation. All of the participants completed the LED smart bag processes of design ideation, material selection, production, and styling using an eco-bag (one of the fashion items and as an LED wearable device). As a result of the participants' satisfaction (on a 5-point scale), most items showed a high level of satisfaction of 4.39 points or more. The smart bag program was evaluated to increase interest based on the time allotted and the students' level and to bolster their understanding of, and interest in, the fashion major. Therefore, this study is expected to be baseline to explore diversification of the fashion major work experience program, in order to create interest in the fashion major based on creative convergence competency.
The purpose of this study is to effectively implement the artificial intelligence education required in the digital transformation era. As we enter the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the demand for a great digital transformation in industry is essential, and the nurturing of manpower is presented as an indispensable relationship in the industrial field based on it. The integration of various new technologies that have emerged from the era of the 4th industrial revolution has the greatest purpose in realizing artificial intelligence technology. As the importance of digital competency in the top curriculum reorganization has been highlighted, artificial intelligence education is necessary even in the curriculum reorganization in 2022, and there is a demand in the educational field that it should be converted into a mandatory education in middle and high schools. Artificial intelligence education according to the demands of the times is to develop an artificial intelligence curriculum in universities by reestablishing systematic artificial intelligence education in universities, setting educational goals, and presenting the goals of artificial intelligence education by major. The main direction of this study is to present the relationship between artificial intelligence and each major in university education, develop a curriculum based on artificial intelligence for each major, and link artificial intelligence software for AI education customized for each major. We would like to present a process that can measure the learning outcomes of AI education.
This study aimed to assess the influence of burnout with satisfaction of basic psychological needs among nurses. From oct, 25, 2013 to nov, 25, 2013, participants included 160 nurses from 6 major general hospital located in urban areas in Korea. Data for basic psychological needs and burnout were collected through a self-reported questionnaire and were analyzed with independent t-test and analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. This study shows negative correlations between burnout and autonomy(r=-.45, P<.001), competency(r=-.52, P<.001), relatedness(r=-.49, P<.001). The variables predicting burnout were autonomy(${\beta}=-.26$), competency(${\beta}=-.30$), relatedness(${\beta}=-.12$), age(${\beta}=-.17$), number of service years(${\beta}=.09$). These variables accounted for 34.3% of the variance of burnout in nurses. Our results indicated that it is necessary to increase basic psycological needs to decrease burnout. Therefore nursing managers should develop programs in order to increase autonomy, relatedness and competency.

This study aimed to compare and analyze librarian teacher evaluation index from evaluation of teachers' competency development with the the topics of information utilization education. To this end, LDA topic modeling was conducted by collecting papers related to information utilization education published in four major journals in the field of literature and information from 1995 to May 2022. As a result of topic modeling, it can be seen that information utilization education (T10) was the most actively discussed at 12.0% of the 20 topics, followed by library utilization classes (T2) 10.4% and user service (T3) 8.8%.On the other hand, 3.3% of reading discussion (T7), 2.9% of reading education (T19), 2.1% of manpower management (T13), and 2.1% of librarian teacher job satisfaction (T17) showed the lowest distributions 3.3%, 2.9%, 2.1%, and 2.1%, respectively. In addition, although librarian teacher's class model development (T1) and curriculum development (T20) are essential processes for collaborative classes and information utilization education, they were not reflected in the current teacher competency development evaluation index. Therefore, this study proposed that 'instructional model and curriculum development' indicator should be added on 'training and support classes' factors in the Librarian Teacher Evaluation Index in Teachers' Competency Development Evaluation for further evaluation.
