The profitability of a hospital refers to business administration results achieved through its medical care and other management activities during applicable fiscal year. This study focused on operating margin as a measurement index of hospital profitability, which is a genuine medical return obtained by subtracting medical expenses from medical profits achieved during business administration of hospital. Based on the index, this study could deduce certain factors on hospital profitability in terms of various indices affecting profitability. And based on those factors, this study sought to provide more useful reference materials which allow us to devise possible ways to improve hospital profitability. As a result, it was found that public hospitals attained lower profitability than private ones. To analyze profitability depending on each index, this study divided hospitals broadly into deficit group and surplus group. As a result, it was found that there were significant differences in hospital profitability between two groups depending upon relevant indices such as labor cost ratio, maintenance expense ratio, number of operations per medical specialist and medical instrument turnover. According to analysis on potential effects of relevant indices upon profitability, it was found that each index had its explanatory power ranging from 25% to 74.5% depending on given model.

We developed a heavy-duty work class ROV trencher named URI-T (Underwater robot it's trencher) that can conduct burial and maintenance tasks for underwater cables and small diameter pipelines. It requires various supporting systems, including a dynamic positioning (DP) vessel, launch and recovery system (LARS), A-frame, and winch in order to perform burial tasks because of its dimensions (6.5 m × 5.0 m × 4.5 m, 20 t) and the tough working environment. However, operating a DP vessel has disadvantages as it is expensive to rent and operate and it is difficult to adjust the working schedule for some domestic coast construction cases. In this paper, we propose a method using a barge instead of a DP vessel to avoid the above disadvantages. Although burying the cable and pipeline using a barge has lower working efficiency than a DP vessel, it can save construction expenses and does not require a large crew. The proposed method was applied over two months at the construction of the water supply in Yokji-do, and the results were verified.

As the super-aged society is imminent, the number of people with senile diseases is also increasing, resulting in a lack of facilities and policies as a social problem. National Health Insurance Service is being talked about as a realistic alternative to medical coverage. Long-term care hospitals are classified into acute-stage hospitals and long-term care facilities and are acting as an alternative to reducing medical expenses. However, in long-term care hospitals, which are the core of maintenance rehabilitation, the quality of service issues have been raised seriously. Currently, there is a problem of mass production of refugees from rehabilitation due to a problem of the medical system. In particular, in the preceding study in 2015, the status of long-term care hospitals in Jeollabuk-do was the worst. Therefore, using public data, the general status of long-term care hospitals in Jeollabuk-do, status of frequent disease, status of rehabilitation services, and status of occupational therapy services are to be explored.

This study was conducted to provide basic data for establishing safety management measures, which facilitate accident prevention, in the institutions that were subject to the regulations that pertain to the maintenance of a safe laboratory environment. The data was collected between 2018 and 2020, and it was analyzed to establish the effectiveness of the laboratory safety management measures that focus on universities, research institutes, and business-affiliated research institutes. Consequently, the level of compliance with the regulations and the size of the institution influenced the accident rate. More specifically, the accident rate increased when an institution was subject to risk factors, or when the institution failed to conduct routine and regular inspections. Furthermore, it was observed that institutions where accidents occurred exhibited a lower level of completion in regard to safety education for laboratory directors and research workers than those in which no accidents occurred. Finally, it was observed that the number of researchers, laboratories, in-depth safety inspection laboratories, and the level of safety management expenses were higher in the institutions where accidents occurred than in the institutions in which no accidents occurred.

As ground water influx quantity which flows into the tunnel inside from the 7.937 km section of Han River and small and 7 medium-sized rivers which pass through subway line 5 is average $34,444\;m^3/day$ and it's 55.3% of the underground water influx quantity $62,272\;m^3/day$ which flows into whole tunnel section 31.29 km. If we suppressed the underground water influx from the rivers, it would be expect that the maintenance and management expenses would be able to reduce a lot. In addition, as the result of investigating the difference between the ground water influx quantity which flows into the river section and that of the design standard, the ground water influx quantity is $3.01\;m^3/min$ and it is flowing to similar level of tunnel design standard $3.00\;m^3/min$. However, when it is compared with tunnel average influx quantity $1.38\;m^3/min$, it has been found that 2.18 times of ground water flows into rivers.

Frequently changeable functional requirements in System Management CSCI Software make it difficult to reuse an overall application, but only the partial class codes repeatedly as a new version of Naval Combat Management System is developed. This structural environment leads to increasing development time and expenses. This is why modularization for System Management CSCI Software is proposed as a solution, leveraging the advantages of proper standardization and functional expandability offered by Standard Interface Architecture. This paper outlines the comparisons of modified class ratios as well as software reliability test runtime results between before and after implementing the modularization for System Management CSCI Software. The findings demonstrate there is sufficient improvement in areas, such as higher maintenance and reusability, supporting the application of modularization for System Management CSCI Software with the implementation of Standard Interface Architecture.
The purpose of this survey was to investigate the operation and the environment of foodservice in elementary schools nationwide. A questionnaire about foodservice management to practice and foodservice operation was mailed to dietitians of each school . Of the 1, 416 schools that participated in this survey, 388 schools were selected for analysis. The main results of this study are as follows. More schools in small cities . Education levels of dietitians were significantly different from area to area. Mean total length of employment for dietitians at school foodservice was 4.7 years and varied significantly by area and the type of foodservice system. Foodservice has been operated for 2-5 years in most of schools. Schools in large cities served more people than those in small cities and rural areas. Also , schools adapting conventional foodservice system served more people than those adapting commissary or joint management system. Foodservice expense also veried significantly by area and foodservice systems. Mean foodservice expense per meal were significantly higher in schools adapting commissary system than those adapting other systems. Most schools employed dietitians, cooks, and assistant cooks, but not engineers not drivers. Mothers of students were working voluntarily. The degree of participation by mothers in cooking , serving , and cleaning was higher in schools of small cities and rural areas than those in large cities, in schools adapting commissary or joint management system than those adapting conventional system. Education and training ranked as personnel management had one of the hardest tasks. Education and training of employees were also difficult for dietitians, especially in commissary or joint management systems. Percentage of schools having separate lunchroom was higher in small cities rural areas than in large cities, in joint management or commissary system than conventional system. Most difficult matters in serving was the portion control. Over 40% of schools did not use standard recipes. Menu cycles were shorter in schools in small cities and rural areas which adapted the joint management system than area other schools. Except refrigerators, thermos , display racks, sterilizers, sinks, worktables, and table, all other equipment were insufficient in most of schools. More than half of the schools didn't have rice cookers, flatware racks, and distributing carts which are stated plainly in detailed enforcement regulations for school foodservice. Cooking equipments were described as the most needed by dietians. According to the results of this survey, many and urgent problems need to be addressed improve the quality of school foodservice . Lunchroom setups, effective personnel management and expenses, recipes standardization, serving size control and regular checking and repairing of equipments are all problems to be addressed.

In the execution of construction management, such pre-design steps as a planning stage, a basic design stage, and a work design stage are regarded as more important than an actual construction stage. However, the manpower input criterion from the aspect of construction management price standard in the Construction Engineering Management Law does not attach weight to the pre-design stage. In this regard, the aim of this study was to examine the propriety of manpower input in the pre-design stage of construction management and then present an improvement strategy of it. For this, the investigator examined the criterion of service price prescribed in the Construction Engineering Management Law and then comparatively analyzed four sites of construction management services. Study findings are as follows: 1) the actual state of manpower input based on the stepwise average price criterion of construction management service is presented with such steps as the newly established planning step (6.6%), the basic design stage (3.9%$\rightarrow$5.6%), the practical design stage(7.6%$\rightarrow$13.5%), the construction stage (88.5%$\rightarrow$64.0%), and the newly established maintenance stage (10.3%). The average price criterion is classified by total construction expenses and calculated by improved rates and stage; and 2) the three-step criterion of the Construction Engineering Management Law is classified into five stages including the planning stage and the maintenance stage by dividing it with the stepwise construction businesses. Study findings show that the calculation of price criterion in the actual site of construction management services must be operated in a practical and flexible manner and the systematic improvement of stepwise manpower input must be carried out actually.

Before urban railway vehicles reach their design life-span, operating agencies should determine when to buy new vehicles. Previous LCC (Life Cycle Cost) studies were limited because they independently focused on existing vehicles based on costs that directly impacted only the operating agency without considering effects such as social costs and the reduction of maintenance costs. Thus, it is difficult to systematically determine when to buy new vehicles. This study investigated the operating and maintenance related costs, especially from additional expenses and social costs due to unexpected vehicle failures and safety accidents, and did an economic analysis of scenarios with different discount rates. Considering that the public is very concerned about safety after the Sewol ferry accident, additional costs, which include social costs, should be included in the analysis. This study shows that the economic priority of scenarios may change depending on whether those costs are included and on the discount rate. The results of this study can help in the decision-making process for the planning and buying of new trains.
