  • In this paper, we analyze the errors associated with magnetic field interference for fiber-optic current sensors working in a three-phase electric system and provide a solution to compensate the interference. For many practical conductor arrangements, the magnetic filed interference may cause errors unacceptable for the accuracy requirements of the sensors. We devised a real time compensation method for the interference by introducing geometric and weight factors. We realized the method using simple electronic circuits and obtained the real time compensated outputs with errors of ${\pm}1%$.

  • The purpose of this research is to improve the reliability of automobile navigation system that utilizes the magnetic compass for localization. On account of its sensitiveness against the dynamic external interference of the magnetic field, the electronic compass itself is not accurate enough to be used for the localization compared to the gyro-compass. To overcome this shortcoming, in this research, a robust electronic compass is designed by using two magnetic compasses to cancel out the dynamic interferences efficiently. That is, a dual compass predictive calibration algorithm against irregular external interference of magnetic field is newly proposed and implemented in this paper. When the dynamic interference can be eliminated from the electronic compass, it becomes much accurate than the gyro-based system that suffers from the accumulative drift error. The reliability and performance of the designed system have been verified through the real driving experiments.

  • In order to improve the storage density of magnetic recording, the shingled magnetic recording method is used. However, this method have a problem of interference between adjacent tracks. Therefore, many studies to prevent the performance degradation due to interference between the adjacent track have been conducted. In this paper, in order to solve inter-track interference, we propose a model to remove inter-track interference. In the case of overlap between tracks is 10% or more, the proposed model shows the performance improvement.

  • A magnetic field sensing system with a single primary sensor and multiple reference sensors deployed locally and orthogonally, was proposed for downlink signal reception and interference cancelling for Through-the-Earth Communication (TEC). This paper mathematically analyzes a design optimization process for a search coil magnetometer (SCM), and applies that process to minimize the bandwidth of the primary SCM for TEC signal reception and the volume of reference SCMs for multiple distributions. The primary SCM achieves a 3-dB bandwidth of 7 Hz, a sensitivity threshold of 120 fT/${\surd}$Hz, and a volume of $2.32{\times}10^{-4}m^3$. The entire sensing system volume is as small as $10^{-2}m^3$. Experiments with interference from industrial frequency harmonics demonstrated an average of 36 dB and 18 dB improvements in signal-to-interference ratio and signal-to-interference plus noise ratio, respectively, using multichannel recursive-least-squares algorithm. Thus, the proposed sensing system can reduce the interference effectively and allows reliable downlink signal reception.

  • This paper is about the recent development of the magnetic impact actuator for endoscope. The developed magnetic impact actuator has many problems to arrange in the system body. Because the magnetic impact actuator need a permanent magnet as an impacter, so the magnetic interference among magnets can not be eliminated. This interference causes the system size bigger. We need a new actuator design to solve these problems. One of the good solutions is to use the closed electro-magnetic circuit. This kind of circuit enhances the actuators to be independent. It is written about the design of the electro-magnetic circuit and simulation using Maxwell(version 9.0)

  • Development of IT and electronics industries has make our life more convenient, yet at the cost of radio communication noise, malfunctioning of electronic appliance and risks against human health all resulting from EMI. Many states are tightening their EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) regulations around the world and the EMI regulatory measures are likely to increase in terms of targets and types. Against this backdrop, this paper aims to introduce fundamental and adequate EMI countermeasures encompassing product production cycle from design to production stage.

  • This paper is related radio interference from inductive system to radio device in home and industrial environment according to increasing the usage of inductive system. In order to analyze interference from magnetic field strength of inductive system, interference model was suggested and explain the method to calculate separation distance by using conversion that from magnetic field strength to magnetic dipole moment based on suggested interference model. Also, scenario that interference occur between inductive system and radio device was shown and the separation distance between inductive system and radio device was calculate with that scenario. The suggested method in this paper will be used to secure the compatibility between inductive system and radio device.

  • A Boost Power Factor Correction (PFC) Converter employing Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) based Compound Active Clamping (CAC) technique is presented in this paper. An Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) Filer is connected at the line side of the proposed converter to suppress Electro Magnetic Interference. The proposed converter can effectively reduce the losses caused by diode reverse recovery. Both the main switch and the auxiliary switch can achieve soft switching i.e. ZVS under certain condition. The parasitic oscillation caused by the parasitic capacitance of the boost diode is eliminated. The voltage on the main switch, the auxiliary switch and the boost diode are clamped. The principle of operation, design and simulation results are presented here. A prototype of the proposed converter is built and tested for low input voltage i.e. 15V AC supply and the experimental results are obtained. The power factor at the line side of the converter and the converter efficiency are improved using the proposed technique.

  • Fossil fuel, the energy source of internal combustion engine automobiles, is limited in resource and has caused environmental issues for decades. Accordingly, automobile manufacturers from many countries around the world are developing or producing eco-friendly vehicles that utilize alternative sources of energy. These vehicles are equipped with many electronic and electrical components which operate on high voltage and/or large current that were not used in conventional combustion engine automobiles. In this paper, in order to analyze the electro-magnetic interference noise, electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles are tested under the guidelines of KMVSS (Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) as well as under test modes that are not stipulated under the guidelines.
