Through machine learning-based load prediction, it is possible to prevent excessive power generation or unnecessary economic investment by estimating the appropriate amount of facility investment in consideration of the load that will increase in the future or providing basic data for policy establishment to distribute the maximum load. However, in order to secure the reliability of the developed load prediction model in the field, the performance comparison verification between the distribution line load prediction models must be preceded, but a comparative performance verification system between the distribution line load prediction models has not yet been established. As a result, it is not possible to accurately determine the performance excellence of the load prediction model because it is not possible to easily determine the likelihood between the load prediction models. In this paper, we developed a reliability verification system for load prediction models including a method of comparing and verifying the performance reliability between machine learning-based load prediction models that were not previously considered, verification process, and verification result visualization methods. Through the developed load prediction model reliability verification system, the objectivity of the load prediction model performance verification can be improved, and the field application utilization of an excellent load prediction model can be increased.
Machine learning (ML) algorithms have been intended to seamlessly collaborate for enabling intelligent networking in terms of massive service differentiation, prediction, and provides high-accuracy recommendation systems. Mobile edge computing (MEC) servers are located close to the edge networks to overcome the responsibility for massive requests from user devices and perform local service offloading. Moreover, there are required lightweight methods for handling real-time Internet of Things (IoT) communication perspectives, especially for ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) and optimal resource utilization. To overcome the abovementioned issues, this paper proposed an intelligent scheme for traffic steering based on the integration of MEC and lightweight ML, namely support vector machine (SVM) for effectively routing for lightweight and resource constraint networks. The scheme provides dynamic resource handling for the real-time IoT user systems based on the awareness of obvious network statues. The system evaluations were conducted by utillizing computer software simulations, and the proposed approach is remarkably outperformed the conventional schemes in terms of significant QoS metrics, including communication latency, reliability, and communication throughput.

With the advent and realization of Software Defined Network (SDN) architecture, many organizations are now shifting towards this paradigm. SDN brings more control, higher scalability, and serene elasticity. The SDN spontaneously changes the network configuration according to the dynamic network requirements inside the constrained environments. Therefore, a monitoring system that can monitor the physical and virtual entities is needed to operate this type of network technology with high efficiency and proficiency. In this manuscript, we propose a real-time monitoring system for data collection and visualization that includes the Prometheus, node exporter, and Grafana. A node exporter is configured on the physical devices to collect the physical and virtual entities resources utilization logs. A real-time Prometheus database is configured to collect and store the data from all the exporters. Furthermore, the Grafana is affixed with Prometheus to visualize the current network status and device provisioning. A monitoring system is deployed on the physical infrastructure of the KOREN topology. Data collected by the monitoring system is further pre-processed and restructured into a dataset. A monitoring system is further enhanced by including machine learning techniques applied on the formatted datasets to identify the elephant flows. Additionally, a Random Forest is trained on our generated labeled datasets, and the classification models' performance are verified using accuracy metrics.

This study aimed to predict the number of meals served in a group cafeteria using machine learning methodology. Features of the menu were created through the Word2Vec methodology and clustering, and a stacking ensemble model was constructed using Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and CatBoost as sub-models. Results showed that CatBoost had the best performance with the ensemble model showing an 8% improvement in performance. The study also found that the date variable had the greatest influence on the number of diners in a cafeteria, followed by menu characteristics and other variables. The implications of the study include the potential for machine learning methodology to improve predictive performance and reduce food waste, as well as the removal of subjective elements in menu classification. Limitations of the research include limited data cases and a weak model structure when new menus or foreign words are not included in the learning data. Future studies should aim to address these limitations.
In case of the problems with multiple plants, alternative operation sequence, alternative machine, setup time, and transportation time between plants, we need a robust methodology for the integration of process planning and scheduling in supply chain. The objective of this model is to minimize the tardiness and to maximize the resource utilization. So, we propose a multi-objective model with limited-capacity constraint. To solve this model, we develope an efficient and flexible model using adaptive genetic algorithm(AGA), compared to traditional genetic algorithm(TGA)
In scheduling open-field type FMS, process planning of decision making between alternate machines is taken into consideration. This idea is validated via implementing two experimental systems; One is a knowledge-based system and the other is to solve a Constraint Satisfaction Problem. The former generates some promising schedules in view of improving machine utilization, makespan and meanflow time, and the latter does in view of meeting due date.

In this paper, utilizing the line balancing algorithm proposed to deal with various situations of automated assembly line, the optimal solution can be derived by the branch and bound method of analysis. By the application of line balancing algorithm to telephone assembly line, thoughput is improved by 3.38%. Therefore, in the proposed line, blicking phenomena were reduced and smooth line-flow was achieved, and uniform distribution of utilization rate of each machine is obtained.
This paper constitutes the simulator of the serial production line using Extended Petri Nets. We analyze each operations and effect of machine down, calculating the performance measures for improving the capability of manufacturing system. The performance measures are system efficiency, average utilization of machines, average buffer level, and so on. We intend to present the information of the operation states and various problem occurring in the systems.
Due to the inherent complexity in the CIM operation, achieving the triple, meeting duedates, maximizing machine utilization, and maximizing system throughput simultaneously is practically impossible. Targeting the small-to-medium size industries of Korea, we propose an exrert system that 'provides a good and practical solution to the CIM operation problems. Heavy consideration has given to the real-time and dynamic nature of CIM in the development process of the system. The system is under testing stage at KU-FMS, model CIM plant.
