The low melting alloy impregnated wood composites with natural grain of thinned Juglans mandshurica was made and evaluated in this study. And the proper manufacturing conditions was also investigated in this study. The low melting alloy with bismuth(Bi) and tin(Sn) which are harmless to humans, was applied for this novel composites, which showed not only no defects of discoloration, delamination, swelling, and cracking, because of high dimensional stability and low thickness swelling, but also much improved performance such as high bending strength, high hardness, low abrasion, high thermal conductivity as floor materials. This study also suggested the proper impregnating condition, such as 10 minutes of the preliminary vacuum time, $187^{\circ}C$ of the heating temperature and 10 minutes of the maintaining pressure time at the pressure of 30kgf/$cm^2$. The produced composites showed 9 times higher density for small specimen, 6.6 times for actual size sample and great increase in bending strength from 102.05N/$mm^2$ to 189.47N/$mm^2$ for small size sample and to 205.4N/$mm^2$ for actual size sample, also great increase in hardness from 15.1N/$mm^2$ to 73.38N/$mm^2$ for small size sample and 64.87N/$mm^2$ for actual size sample. And the composites demonstrated great decrease in abrasion depth and in water absorption.

In this study, we consider the sample size determination problem for clustered count data with many zeros. In general, zero-inflated Poisson and binomial models are commonly used for zero-inflated data; however, in real data the assumptions that should be satisfied when using each model might be violated. We calculate the required sample size based on a discrete Weibull regression model that can handle both underdispersed and overdispersed data types. We use the Monte Carlo simulation to compute the required sample size. With our proposed method, a unified model with a low failure risk can be used to cope with the dispersed data type and handle data with many zeros, which appear in groups or clusters sharing a common variation source. A simulation study shows that our proposed method provides accurate results, revealing that the sample size is affected by the distribution skewness, covariance structure of covariates, and amount of zeros. We apply our method to the pancreas disorder length of the stay data collected from Western Australia.
Animal disease surveillance system, defined as the continuous investigation of a given population to detect the occurrence of disease or infection for control purposes, has been key roles to assess the health status of an animal population and, more recently, in international trade of animal and animal products with regard to risk assessment. Especially, for a system aiming to determine whether or not a disease is present in a population sensitivity of the system should be maintained high enough not to miss an infected animal. Therefore, when planning the implementation of surveillance system a number of factors that affecting surveillance sensitivity should be taken into account. Of these parameters sample size is of important, and different approaches are used to calculate sample size, usually depending on the objective of surveillance systems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity of the current national serological surveillance programs for four selected bovine diseases assuming a specified sampling plan, to examine factors affecting the probability of detection, and to provide sample sizes required for achieving surveillance goal of detecting at least an infection in a given population. Our results showed that, for example, detecting low level of prevalence (0.2% for bovine tuberculosis) requires selection of all animals per typical Korean cattle farm (n = 17), and thus risk-based target surveillance for high risk groups can be an alternative strategy to increase sensitivity while not increasing overall sampling efforts. The minimum sample size required for detecting at least one positive animal was sharply increased as the disease prevalence is low. More importantly, high reliability of prevalence estimation was expected with increased sampling fraction even when zero-infected animal was identified. The effect of sample size is also discussed in terms of the maximum prevalence when zero-infected animals were identified and on the probability of failure to detect an infection. We suggest that for many serological surveillance systems, diagnostic performance of the testing method, sample size, prevalence, population size, and statistical confidence need to be considered to correctly interpret results of the system.

This study is to provide basic data on ecology and morpho-pedo milieu by analyzing diatom and grain size of Mt. Jeombong forest wetland. Sample was collected from 6 points and named sample 943, 932, 885, 881A, 881b, 849. Sample 934 could not identify diatom, and the soil layer was colluvium deposited by mass-movement process. Layer of sample 932 was developed in the lower velocity environment, and presence frequence of complete diatom was very low. Hydrological situation of sample 855 was analysed in oligosaprobien environments. Sample 881A was meso-saprobic environments, velocity was slow area that inhabit musci bryopsida and sphaerocarpus. Sample 881B was acidic wetland in oligosaprobien environments. Sample 849 was analysed in oligosaprobien environments. The results of soil and diatom analysis are well reflect on wet environments of mountain wetlands and also it will expected to be in the help of environmental changes study of mountain wetlands.

We take genomic sequences of high-dimensional low sample size (HDLSS) without ordering of response categories into account. When constructing an appropriate test statistics in this model, the classical multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) approach might not be useful owing to very large number of parameters and very small sample size. For these reasons, we present a pseudo marginal model based upon the Gini-Simpson index estimated via Bayesian approach. In view of small sample size, we consider the permutation distribution by every possible n! (equally likely) permutation of the joined sample observations across G groups of (sizes $n_1,{\ldots}n_G$). We simulate data and apply false discovery rate (FDR) and positive false discovery rate (pFDR) with associated proposed test statistics to the data. And we also analyze real SARS data and compute FDR and pFDR. FDR and pFDR procedure along with the associated test statistics for each gene control the FDR and pFDR respectively at any level ${\alpha}$ for the set of p-values by using the exact conditional permutation theory.
A portable RF HTS SQUID-based susceptometer was used for small size magnetized sample testing in weak DC (up to 200A/m) and AC (up to 4 A/m) magnetic fields. The system resolution for the magnetic moment is of the order of $1.6{\times}10^{-10} A.m^2$. The measured DC susceptibility of a tested sample agrees well with the value obtained by using a commercial liquid helium susceptometer.
We evaluated the sensory characteristics of Gangjung base obtained from various manufacturers, using a sensory descriptive analysis. Significant differences were observed for all sensory attributes of Gangjung samples with the exception of 'toothpacking'. Sample A showed high intensities for 'external color', 'external roughness', 'sweetness', 'toasted soybean powder flavor', 'crispness', 'fracturability', 'oiliness', and 'loose particles,' whereas it had low intensities for 'rice flour flavor', 'hardness', and 'toughness' compared to those of other samples. Sample B had more 'sourness', 'butyric acid flavor', 'fermented rice flavor', and 'degree of melting' but lower 'air cell size', 'fracturability', and 'flake roughness'. Sample C showed high intensities for 'expansion', 'hardness', 'crispness', and 'flake roughness', whereas sample D showed low intensities for 'expansion' and 'sourness'. These results indicate that Gangjung base samples are markedly different depending on the manufacturer.

Although handicapped by the inability to bridge the size gap between small laboratory sample and large engineering component, the V charpy test sample method does possess certain advantages, such as each of preparation, simplicity of test method, speed, low cost in test machinery, and low cost per test. On the other hand, the COD test method does posses advantages, which reduce the size gap between the laboratory sample and actual engineering component. Consequently, the correlation between V charpy absorbed energy and the critical COD value is required for estimating critical COD value from the simple V charpy test results. In this paper, the high tensile strength steel AH36 plate specimens having a single edge cracked notch were investigated to find out the correlation between V charpy absorbed energy and critical COD value in the welded parts under such various welding methods as shielded metal arc welding, the submerged arc welding and the electro gas welding by means of V charpy impact test and static 3-point bending test. Main results obtained are as follow ; 1. The relationships between V charpy absorbed energy Wc' and critical COD value ($\delta_c$)show; $\delta_c$=0.0065 Wc'+0.1906. 2. Ductile- brittle transition behaviours can be estimated by means of fracture appearance and general yielding behaviours. 3. The V charpy absorbed energy of SMAW is higher than that of SAW, EGW and similar relationships are obtained in the COD tests.
This study was carried out to develop a simple, convenient, and reproducible testing device to determine wettability and dispersibility of dairy powders. The testing device consists of a sieve ($150{\mu}m$) attached to a sample chamber, sensors mounted on a supporting body and a main control unit containing a display panel. The sensors detect the difference in electrical resistance between air and water. A timer is automatically triggered by the sensor when the bottom of sample-loaded chamber contacts water in the petri dish. Wettability and dispersibility of commercial skim milk powders (SMPs) produced at different heating strengths (low-, medium-, and high-heat SMP) are compared using the new testing device. Wettability of the SMPs were correlated with particle size and are found to increase in the order of medium-, low-, and high-heat SMP regardless of the amount of sample tested. Dispersibility of SMPs showed the same trend and high heat-SMP which has the smallest particle size resulted in the lowest dispersibility. Unlike existing methods, the new testing device can determine both wettability and dispersibility of powders and successfully detected differences among the samples.
