Sound absorptive materials have good performance in high frequency range, not at low frequencies. Therefore it has been great challenge to develop a sound absorbing structure that is good at low frequency. We propose to use a Helmholtz resonator array panel for this purpose. A Helmholtz resonator is one of noise control elements widely used in many practical applications. The resonator is a simple structure composed of a rigid-walled cavity with a neck, but it has very high performance at resonance frequency. This paper discusses the sound absorption of Helmholtz resonator array panels at normal and random incidence. First, various experimental results are introduced and studied. Secondly, we theoretically predict the absorptive characteristics of the resonator away panel. The theoretical approach is based on the Fourier analysis for a periodic absorber. We believe that this method can be used to design a panel for low frequency noise control.

Recently, extending the local broadcasting and increasing lots of informations. The low-loss communication cable is required in proportion as frequency .The reason of transportation loss causes to using the high frequencies like hundreds of MHz or decades of GHz. For the low transportation loss. It is required the developing-technology of foaming and the high foamed insulator with the dielectric ratio of the nearest to 1. Therefor, there is the purpose of developing the insulating materials for the low dielectric ratio. Also it is important to measure the attenuation, which is one of the important parameters.sa the evaluation of transportation characteristic with frequency in the communication cable. In this paper, the result showed that the dielectric ratio(1.4) of the nearest to 1 and low attenuation with high frequency were very related to the transportation and reflection characteristics such as propagation velocity (82.27%). Delay time and voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR).

Suppression of very low-frequency noise from an automobile exhaust system is difficult due mainly to its large wave length. Therefore, the configuration of total exhaust system, i,e., piping and muffler layout, is important at low frequencies. In this paper, an optimal layout technique of exhaust systems has been developed for reducing low-frequency exhaust noise. For this purpose, system insertion loss and virtual attenuation coefficient have been defined by considering the effects of mean flow and temperature gradient in the pipe. The applicability of present method is investigated with an actual automobile exhaust system and an optimized layout of pipes and mufflers is suggested.

A problem of frequency in the field of low-frequencies such as high-rise apartment building or construction vibration are often found. In this study, damage reason of a 25 stories apartment building was searched on the basis of actual damage. To find the damage reason, structural design procedure were reviewed and low-frequency vibration test was conducted. The results indicate that the main damage reason is not by the low-frequency vibration but the asymmetrical plan of that building.

The characteristics of dielectric constant and $tan{\delta}$ of low viscosity silicone oils with changing degree of polymerization were investigated. The result shows dipole loss mechanism at low temperature range. The dielectric loss in the range of low frequencies are predominantly of ionic nature with temperature increase. The peak of dielectric loss is the detrapping of the electrons which is were trapped in the localized level of the silicone oils at the frequency of 30 kHz. The increase of ionic conduction is attributed to the presence of ionizable oxidation products and their increased dissociation feature. The activation energy ${\Delta}H$ and dipole moment ${\mu}_d$ were increased whit increasing degree of polymerization.
Tc-99m-MIBI (Sestamibi) myocardial SPECT along with TI-201 tomographic Imaging has demonstrated wide application and high image quality sufficient for the diagnosis of myocardial perfusion defect, which consequently reflects regional myocardial blood flow. The qualitative values of myocardial SPECT with Tc-99m-MIBI as well ds the quantitative cases depend in some degree on the reconstruction techniques of multiple projections. Filtered backprojection (FBP) Is the common standard method for reconstruction rather than the complicated and time-consuming arithmetic methods. In FBP it is known that the distribution of radioactivity in reconstructed transverse slices varies with the selected litter parameters such as cutoff frequencies and order (Butterworth case) The cutoff frequencies used in clinicAl practice partially remove and decrease the true radioactive distribution and alter the pixel counts, which lead to underestimation of true counts in specific myocardial regions. In this study, we have investigated the effect of cutoff frequencies of reconstruction filter on the artifactually induced perfusion defects, which are often demonstrated near inferior and/or inferoseptal cardiac walls due to the intense hepatic uptake of Tc-99m-MIBI. A computerized method for Identifying the relative degree of artifactual perfusion defect and for comparing those degrees along with the relative amount of hepatic uptake to myocardium was developed and patient images were studied to observe the quantitative degree of underestimation of myocardial perfusion, and to propose some reasonable threshold of cutoff frequency in the diagnosis of perfusion defect quantitatively. We concluded that from the quantitative viewpoint cutoff frequencies may be used as high as possible with the sacrifice of homogeneity of image quality, and those frequencies lower than the common 0.3 Wyquist frequency would reveal severe degradation of radioactive distribution near inferior and/or inferoseptal myocardium when applying Butterworth or low pass filter.

The lack of an understanding of the characteristics and searching abilities of a specific user group in computer-based information systems in libraries hinders library and information science professionals in making the best decisions when designing, acquiring, and managing information systems. The objective of this study was to provide information on the characteristics and searching abilities of specific groups such as Korean college students & ones who study abroad, male & female, undergraduate & graduate students, etc. This study also has focused on the methods of loaming to use OPACs and non-user study. Questionnaire was administered to both Korean college students in the city of Taegu, Korea and students who study abroad in the state of Texas, US.A. 345 usable questionnaires were obtained and analyzed. These were analyzed using descriptive, inferential statistics, multiple correlation, and SPSS software. The. major findings of this study are: (1) There was a significant difference among specific student user groups except undergraduate and artiste-athlete students in the distribution of their knowledge about how to use OPACs: (2) There was a significant difference among specific groups in the means of their knowledge: (3) There was no significant difference among un. groups in the distribution of loaming method to use OPAC systems : (4) The correlation between the number of searching methods that the respondents knew in using OPACS and the amount of using computers (0.6635) is comparatively higher than my other correlation to the searching methods. Also, years of experience using computers, frequencies of computer use, and frequencies of OPAC use are comparatively higher than frequencies of library use and frequencies of manual card catalog un: (5) Frequencies of manual card catalog use have low negative correlations with the number of searching methods that the respondents knew in using OPACs: (6) Frequencies of manual card catalog use have little if any negative negative with OPAC and computer use. Conclusions are drawn from the findings in this paper, and recommendations an proposed when designing, adopting, or managing a new system. Topics fur future studies on the characteristics of OPAC systems and their use are also suggested.
In waveguide structures, waves may be partially reflected by local non-uniformities. The effects of local non-uniformities has been previously investigated by means of a combined spectral element and finite element (SE/FE) method at relatively low frequencies. However, since the SE is formulated based on a beam theory, the SE/FE method is not appropriated for analysis at higher frequencies where complex deformation of the waveguide occurs. So it is necessary to extend this approach for high frequencies. For the wave propagation at higher frequencies, a combined spectral super element and finite element (SSE/FE) method is introduced in this paper. As an example of the application of this method, wave reflection and transmission due to a local defect in a rail are simulated at frequencies between 20kHz and 30kHz. Also numerical errors are evaluated by means of the conservation of the incident power.

This paper described the general dynamic point for rotor design and the design procedure of low vibration blade. Generally, rotor rotating natural frequencies are determined to minimize hub loads, blade vibration and to suppress ground resonance at rotor design stage. First, through rotor frequency diagram, natural frequencies must be far away from resonance point and rotating loads generated from blade can be transformed to non-rotating load to predict fuselage vibration. Vibration level was predicted at each forward flight condition by calculating cockpit's vertical acceleration transferred from non-rotating hub load assuming a fuselage as a rigid body. This design method is applied to design current Next-generation Rotor System Blade(NRSB) and will be applied to New Rotor which will be developed Further.
A study was conducted to investigate the effects of methods of feeding a total mixed ration (TMR) on behavior patterns of growing Hanwoo steers. A total of 15 growing steers (13 months old) were assigned to the control (fed roughage and concentrate mix separately), TMR1 (fed restricted TMR), and TMR2 (fed TMR ad libitum) groups. Individual behaviors of steers were observed for 48 hours. Compared with the control, feeding restricted TMR (TMR1) resulted in short eating time, long ruminating time, short chewing time, high frequencies of defecation, urination, and drinking of water, great numbers of boluses and chews, long ruminating time per bolus, low feed value index, high eating and chewing efficiencies (p<0.05). Compared with feeding restricted TMR (TMR1), feeding TMR ad libitum (TMR2) resulted in 1.2 kg more daily feed DM intake, long eating and chewing times, short resting time, great frequencies of defecation, urination and drinking of water, more numbers of boluses and chews, long ruminating time per bolus, low feed value index, low eating and high ruminating efficiencies (p<0.05) and similar chewing efficiency (p>0.05). Considering all these results, the wet TMR feeding system induced generally more desirable eating and ruminating behaviors of growing Hanwoo steers, but made the barn floor wetter due to more defecation and urination.
