Steel making in Mini Mill consists of three major processing stages: molten steel making in an electric arc fuenace, slab casting in a continuous caster, and hot rolling in a finishing mill. Each processing stage has its own lot grouping criterion. However, these criteria in three stages are conflicting with each other. Therefore, delveloping on efficient lot grouping algorithm to enhance the overall productivity of the Mini Mill is an extremely difficult task. The algorithm proposed in this paper is divided into three steps hierarchically: change grouping, cast grouping, and roll grouping. An efficient charge grouping heuristic is developed by exploiting the characteristics of the orders, the processing constraints and the requirements for the downstream stages. In order to maximaize the productivity of the continuous casters, each cast must contain as many charges as possible. Based on the constraint satisfaction problem technique, an efficient cast grouping heuristic is developed. Each roll consists of two casts satisfying the constraints for rolling. The roll grouping problem is formulated as a weighted non-bipartite matching problem, and an optimal roll grouping algorithm is developed. The proposed algorithm is programmed with C language and tested on a SUN Workstation with real data obtained from the H steel works. Through the computational experiment, the algorithm is verified to yield quite satisfactory solutions within a few minutes.

We consider the problem of grouping orders into lots. The problem is modelled by a graph G=(V,E), where each node ${\nu}{\in}V$ denotes order specification and its weight ${\omega}(\nu)$ the orders on hand for the specification. We can construct a lot simply from orders of single specification. For a set of nodes (specifications) ${\theta}{\subseteq}V$, if the distance of any two nodes in $\theta$ is at most d, it is also possible to make a lot using orders on the nodes. The objective is to maximize the number of lots with size exactly $\lambda$. In this paper, we prove that our problem is NP-Complete when $d=2,{\lambda}=3$ and each weight is 0 or 1. Moreover, it is also shown to be NP-Complete when $d=1,{\lambda}=3$ and each weight is 1,2 or 3.

Structuring mechanism, important to serve messages in post-office box structure, is to construct the hierarchy of classes according to the contents of message objects. This Paper Proposes $\alpha$-cut based genealogy grouping method to cluster a lot of structured objects in application domain. The proposed method decides the relationship first by semantic similarity relation and fuzzy relation, and then performs the grouping by operations of search( ), insert() and hierarchy(). This hierarchy structure makes it easy to process group-related processing tasks such as answering queries, discriminating objects, finding similarities among objects, etc. The proposed post-office box structure may be efficiently used to serve and manage message objects by the creation of groups. The Proposed method is tested for 5500 message objects and compared with other methods such as non-grouping, BGM, RGM, OGM.
The damage is increasing due to many encroachment accidents caused by increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks. Many institutions and businesses lack early response to invest a lot of resources in the infrastructure for incident detection. The initial response of an intrusion is to identify the route of attack, and many cyber attacks are targeted at software vulnerabilities. Therefore, analyzing the artifacts of a Windows system against software vulnerabilities and classifying the analyzed data can be utilized for rapid initial response. Therefore, the remaining artifacts upon entry of attacks by software are classified, and artifact grouping is presented for use in analysis of encroachment accidents.

Group-based learning is known to be an effective means to improve scholastic achievement in online learning. Therefore, there are some previous researches for the group-based learning. A lot of previous researches define factors for grouping from the characteristics of classes, teacher's decision and students' preferences and then generate a group based on the defined factors. However, many algorithms proposed by previous researches depend on a specific class and is not a general approach since there exist several differences in terms of the need of courses, learners, and teachers. Moreover it is hard to find a automatic system for group generation. This paper proposes a grouping system which automatically generate a learner group according to characteristics of various classes. the proposed system automatically generates a learner group by using basic information for a class or additional factors inputted from a user. The proposed system defines a set of rules for learner grouping which enables automatic selection of a learner grouping algorithm tailored to the characteristics of a given class. This rule based approach allows the proposed system to accommodate various learner grouping algorithms for a later use. Also we show the usability of our system by serviceability evaluation.

Although data on the internet can be used in various fields such as source of data of IR(Information Retrieval), Data mining and knowledge information servece, and contains a lot of unnecessary information. The removal of the unnecessary data is a problem to be solved prior to the study of the knowledge-based information service that is based on the data of the web page, in this paper, we solve the problem through the implementation of XTractor(XPath Extractor). Since XPath is used to navigate the attribute data and the data elements in the XML document, the XPath analysis to be carried out through the XTractor. XTractor Extracts main text by html parsing, XPath grouping and detecting the XPath contains the main data. The result, the recognition and precision rate are showed in 97.9%, 93.9%, except for a few cases in a large amount of experimental data and it was confirmed that it is possible to properly extract the main text of the news.
The KHCM procedure is a micro level analysis at signalized intersections requiring a lot of input variables and complex computations. The research was to investigate the possibility of simplifying the analysis procedures by using the generalized or the combined variables that less influence on the adjusted traffic volume and through-car equivalents of left or right turns. It was also tried to make lane grouping into directional flow ratio(v/s) based on a field surveys. The maximum and minimum values of each variables were compared with each other through the KHCM analysis procedures in terms of control delay. The lane grouping and the synthetical influence of a simplified method was evaluated with the scenario built in prevailing maximum and minimum conditions. The study showed that the control delay was not significantly sensitive to the selected variables and the lane grouping and their synthetical influence as well.

Steel industry is the most capital intensive and the largest energy consuming industry, which operate huge and complex facilities to supply various steel products as the primary materials to almost every manufacturing industry Major steel products are hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils, plates, and wires that are produced through molten iron making, molten steel making, casting, and rolling. Each process runs in batch between setups and the specifications or bach are different with each other High energy consuming and heavy material handling require careful synchronization or processes, as well. Considering the synchronization or processes, the lot planning and scheduling problem in the integrated steelmaking process rovers the roll grouping with given casts. the sequencing or rolls over time, and the machine assignment and time scheduling or charges and casts. The problem is investigated by dividing it into two cases whether single or parallel machines at the molten steel making and the continuous casting processes. Problem descriptions and solution approaches or each instance are introduced. To test their performance and conformity, implementation or the algorithms and numerical experiments are carried out with real world and constructed data sets.
This study deals with analysis of material from in Tube manufacturing line. This line is a multi product flow ship type production line, which consists of 5 steps of work station. Some work stations involve in unnecessary moving activities of workers and much work in-process storage due to the non-systematic material flow with respect to the different lot size production of multi-items. To improve productivity for this line, one alternative is considered such as grouping two work stations by using GT and JIT concepts. Also, feasibility analysis for this alternative is performed using and simulation model built by SIMAN IV simulation language.
