A study on logit choice probability model taking into account the problems of common-nodes and common-links (노드중복과 링크중복문제를 고려한 로짓선택확률의 비교연구)

  • One Problem of the choice Property in logit model is interpreted as the Problem of common links and common nodes in choice set. Common node Problem Plays important role in deciding the efficiency of network loading and common link problem is connected with choice Problem, both of which are to be solved to improve the logit choice model. Although much need has been pointed out for research on the topic, however, no Paper as yet considers these two factors at the same time. In the Paper we develop a new logit formulation, which is able to ease the logit Problem, widely known as the Problem of IIA(Independence of Irrelevant Alternatives). An example network is used to assess the Proposed model and compare it with other conventional models. From the results, we find out that the model is superior to others.

An Analysis of Choice Behavior for Tour Type of Commercial Vehicle using Decision Tree (의사결정나무를 이용한 화물자동차 투어유형 선택행태 분석)

  • In recent years there have been studies on tour based approaches for freight travel demand modelling. The purpose of this paper is to analyze tour type choice behavior of commercial vehicles which are divided into round trips and chained tours. The methods of the study are based on the decision tree and the logit model. The results indicates that the explanation variables for classifying tour types of commercial vehicles are loading factor, average goods quantity, and total goods quantity. The results of the decision tree method are similar to those of logit model. In addition, the explanation variables for tour type classification of small trucks are not different from those for medium trucks', implying that the most important factor on the vehicle tour planning is how to load goods such as shipment size and total quantity.

Comparison of Multinomial Logit and Logistic Regression on Disability Pensioners' Characteristic (다범주 자료의 다항로짓 모형과 로지스틱 회귀모형 비교;장애연금 특성분석 중심으로)

  • This article studies on disability pensioners' characteristic with multinomial logit and logistic regression model. Seven factors are examined on whether each factor is reflected in degree of disability in the disability pension. By incorporating multinomial logit and logistic regression model, effectiveness and characteristic of the seven factors are investigated on the degree of disability. Result shows all the seven factors are significant on the degree of disability, while among the seven, five factors, age, sex, type of coverage, type of category, insured duration show a trend in degree of disability and the other two, cause of disability and class of standard monthly income are not effective on trend in degree of disability. Results from analyses might be useful for disability pension management.

  • The study examines households' auto ownership and car type choice with a nested legit model. In summary. ${\rho}^2$ and the inclusive values, which represent the goodness of fit of the model, are statistically significant. Therefore. the nested logit model is superior to the standard legit model in this case. Also. the elasticity of operating costs is larger than 1, which means households' car ownership and car type choice is very sensitive to the operating costs. Finally, the elasticity of the operating costs in the lower income group is higher than that or the operating costs in the higher income group.

  • IT 벤처기업은 자본 대비 높은 수익성을 가지므로 지식기반 산업환경에서 많은 투자자들의 집중적인 관심을 받고 있다. 이러한 IT 벤처기업의 효율성을 평가하기 위한 방안으로, DEA 와 데이터마이닝 기법을 통합하는 방안을 제시하였다. 국내 코스닥 상장 기업 가운데 IT 에 주력하고 있는 벤처기업들을 대상으로 본 연구에서 제시한 효율성 평가방법을 적용 하였다. 대표적인 비모수적 분석기법인 Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)를 이용하여 연구대상 기업들을 효율기업 및 비효율기업으로 구분한 후, DEA 의 효율성을 설명하는 모형을 logit 을 이용하여 구축하였다. DEA 는 기업의 상대적인 효율성을 측정하는 데에서 우수하지만, 효율성 정도를 설명하는 모형의 구축에는 한계가 있다. 이를 보완한 DEA 의 결과를 logit 과 통합한 효율성 모형에 대해서 데이터 마이닝 기법인 logit, 판별분석, Support Vector Machine(SVM) 등을 적용하여 IT 벤처기업의 효율성을 사전에 예측하여 평가 및 투자에 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the benefits associated with the opportunities of multiple destination trips using a mixed logit model. The opportunities that affect the destination choice can be one of the external environments of recreational sites. The data for this study were taken from a survey conducted to the multiple destination trip participants at Seorak National Park in Korea. The results of the research show the specific values of complementary opportunities in the study area.

How to Increase the Usability of a Subway Commuter Pass Using Nested Logit Model (Nested logit model을 이용한 정기권 이용범위 확대에 관한 연구)

  • This study finds a way to increase the usability of a subway commuter pass. Usability of the commuter pass on a probabilistic statistical model is calculated when the pass is allowed to used in a different mode(bus). A sunk cost of commuter pass is used to reduce the vehicle travels from public transit. 324 people aged 25 to 35 were surveyed and utilized to build a Nested Logit Model on STRADA 3.5 platform. Main results are as follows. First, commuter passes were issued in various forms. Second, the model turns out to be statistically significant in four explanatory variables (discount rate, inter-usablity between modes, forms of payment and periods). Lastly, the more valid on different modes, the more increased of the rail commuter pass.

  • Trip distribution is the second step of the conventional travel demand estimation process, which connects trips between origin and destination, while transport mode choice is the third step of the process, which chooses transport mode among several modes serving for each origin-destination pair. Although these two steps have closely connected, they have been estimated independently each other in the estimation procedure. This paper presents an integrated model combining trip distribution and transport mode choice, and also presents its solution algorithm. The model integrates gravity model adopted for the trip distribution process with logit model employed for the mode choice process. The model would be expected to cope with the inconsistency issue existing in the conventional travel demand estimation procedure. This paper also presents an equilibrium condition, sensitivity of the model, and compares them with those of existing models.

  • Since early 1990s, several developed countries have applied the Electronic Toll Collection System (ETCS) to toll roads in order to solve traffic congestion and delay problems at toll plazas. For the successful operation of the ETCS, it is important to correctly forecast the ETCS using rate. In this study, it was conceived to develop a sophisticated demand forecasting model of the ETCS for toll roads in Changwon City The Binary Logit and neural network models were tested for the model considering 11 explaining variables. The best results in prediction accuracy and goodness-of-fit were obtained on the neural network model. However, because of the difficulty in predicting the 11 variables and its fitness in wide range, the Binary Logit model which considers three policy variables only is recommended as the model to forecast the ETCS using rate.

  • A Bayesian threshold model is considered to analyze binary or ordered categorical traits. Gibbs sampler for making full Bayesian inferences about the category probability as well as the regression coefficients is described. The model can be regarded as an alternative to the ordered logit regression model. Numerical examples are shown to demonstrate the efficiency of the model.
