How do Japan, UK and Italy promote local food consumption in the HMR industry?

  • Purpose - This study is aiming to provide policy makers with new insights to promote the consumption of locally-grown produces in the HMR industry by exploring what kinds of policies Japan, UK and Italy have developed. Research design - After introduction, the research starts to review the existing literature related to the promotion of local produce consumption, and then, compares the policies introduced by the above countries. Finally, the authors draw conclusions on the basis of research findings. Results - Firstly, central government has to collaborate with local authorities to promote local food consumption in the HMR industry. Secondly, countries have strengthened food label system to enhance local food consumption, in terms of country of origin. Thirdly, all of nations has highlighted food safety to protect customers. Fourthly, the government has created the business environment forcing HMR operators and retailers to follow the government's policy. Fifthly, it is necessary to support the social communities to enhance their social responsibility, from the government's point of view. Lastly, the social responsibility and the ethical administration of retailers should be sustainably strengthened by social atmosphere. Conclusions - In line with the growth of HMR products, governments have to make a considerable effort to develop innovative methods to promote local food consumption in the HMR industry.

지역농산물의 구매행태 및 의향 분석에 따른 지역 내 소비활성화 방향 (Strategies for Regional Consumption Revitalization of Local Food by Analysis on Purchasing Behavior and Intention)

  • The Purpose of this paper is to analysis on consumer's purchasing behavior and intention of local food. To analysis consumer's purchasing behavior, a series of homemaker surveys were conducted. The sample size of the survey is 416 respectively. As a survey result, consumer's purchasing behavior shows that purchasing ratio of local food and buying place is various type. By decision tree model analysis showed that consumer's purchasing intention is enough to establishing local food system in region. Therefore, strategies for regional consumption are needed expression of the place city and county of origin, diversification of purchasing item and buying area, and sustainable improvement for safety and trust on local food.

로컬푸드 매장의 서비스품질이 고객만족과 재방문의도에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Service Quality of Local Food stores on Customer Satisfaction and Revisit Intention)

  • This study identified the impact of the service quality of local food stores on customer satisfaction and revisiting intention of the customers as the interest into local foods is increasing. The main outcomes are as follows: First, many of the respondents said that they use the local food stores based on the trust in the origin of the products and good quality. Second, reliability and validity were suitable for factor analysis and the correlation had a positive (+) directivity. Third, reliability, assurance, empathy and tangibles were analyzed to have a positive (+) impact among the 5 aspects of service quality except for responsiveness. Fourth, customer satisfaction had a positive (+) impact on the intention to revisit the local food stores, and reliability, assurance and empathy had a positive (+) impact on revisiting intention at the statistical significance level except for responsiveness and tangibles among the 5 service quality aspects. Therefore, it is thought to be required to keep having interests into service quality to gain a competitive edge as a sustainable management system since the service quality of local food stores has impacts on customer satisfaction and intention to revisit.

계약생산과 초국적 농식품 체계: 제주도 제스프리 골드키위 농업을 사례로 (Contract Farming and the Transnational Agri-food System: The Case of Zespri Gold Kiwifruit Farming in Jeju Island)

  • 본 연구는 뉴질랜드에 기반을 둔 초국적 유통업체 제스프리사와 제주도 서귀포시 농가 간 제스프리 골드키위 계약생산에 주목하고, 계약생산의 목적과 실제를 고찰하여 지역농가가 초국적 농식품 체계에 어떻게 통합되고 있는지를 밝혀보고자 하였다. 지역농가는 계약생산을 통해 제스프리사의 글로벌 수급 전략에서 로컬 시장의 수요를 충당하는 역할을 수행함에 따라 제스프리사가 주도하는 초국적 농식품 체계에 통합되고 있다. 이 과정에서 계약기업은 생산요소 공급에서 제한적인 역할만을 담당하고, 생산기술의 현장 적용에 있어서도 현지 생산자와 협력을 통해 진행하고 있다. 이로 인해 지역농업에 대한 계약기업의 통제력은 제한되고, 지역농가와 기업 간 관계는 농가가 능동적으로 생산에 참여함에 따라 수평적인 관계를 형성하고 있다.

한국 전통음식 통합 검색 시스템 구축을 위한 향토음식 연구 (A Study on the Korean Local Foods for the Construction of a Traditional Korean Food Data Integration System)

  • This study was conducted to construct database of Korean local foods, and to investigate the total kinds of local foods using a traditional Korean food classification system. A total of 2,137 kinds of local foods were investigated. The results for 10 local provinces are as follows. Seoul had a total of 116 kinds of local foods that were investigated including 13 main dishes, 41 side dishes, 22 kinds of ttdok lyou, 20 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 19 kinds of emuchong lyou. The Gyeonggi local foods totaled 209 kinds: 37 kind main dishes, 130 kind side dishes, 26 kinds of ttdok lyou, 7 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 9 kinds of emuchong lyou. The Gangwon local foods included a total of 198 kinds: 37 main dishes, 111 side dishes, 35 kinds of tteok lyou, 8 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 7 kinds of eumchong lyou. The Chungbuk local foods included a total of 123 kinds: 19 main dishes, 68 side dishes, 17 kinds of tteok lyou, 14 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 5 kinds of eumchong lyou. The Chungnam local foods totaled 185 kinds: 26 main dishes, 124, side dishes, 16 kinds of tteok lyou, 14 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 5 kinds of eumchong lyou. The Gyongbuk local foods investigated included 314 kinds: 52 main dishes, 170 side dishes, 52 kinds of tteok lyou, 21 kinds of hangwa lyoll, and 19 kinds of eumchong lyou. The Gyongnam local foods totaled 342 kinds: 63 main dishes, 234 side dishes, 16 kinds of tteoks lyou, 15 kinds of hangwa lyou and 14 kinds of eumchong lyou. The Jeonbuk local foods totaled 146 kinds: 25 main dishes, 85 side dishes, 18 kinds of tteok lyou, 14 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 4 kinds of eumchong lyou, The Jeonnam local foods totaled 309 kinds: 32 main dish, 207 side dishes,20 kinds of tteok lyou, 27 kinds of hangwa lyou, and 23 kinds of eumchong lyou. Finally, the Jeju local foods totaled 195 kinds: 36 main dishes, 123 side dishes, 19 kinds of tteok lyou, 10 kinds of hangwa lyou and 7 kinds of eumchong lyou.

대안적 농식품체계로써 신토불이 운동의 재해석 (A Study on the Reinterpreting of Shintoburi Movement as Alternative Agri-food System)

  • The objectives of this study were to compare alternative agri-food system among Korea, Japan, USA and Italy. This study explore the situation and its challenge of alternative agri-food system. Alternative agri-food system is movement against global agri-food system and food multinationalization. Four alternative agri-food system not only have something in common but also have something in difference. We tried to make clear the commons and differences. But many these ideas were useful in someways, but none could be used to explain everything. This study was the touchstone of Korea's alternative agri-food system. We introduced simplistic ideas and compared four alternative agri-food system. This study sparking renewed discussion about Korea's alternative agri-food system, namely, 'The domestic farm products are the best movement'.

참먹거리에 대한 지역사회접근 (Community Approach to the True Food)

  • Food is very important for human being. It is not easy for us to enjoy good life because the situation of food is not good in Korea. The self-sufficient food rate is very low and most of food which we take was produced by industrial agriculture. Food of this kind has some problems with respect to the health of consumer, agriculture, environment and community. In order to secure the true food which is safe and environmentally sound, producers, consumers and community have to work together. Producers must engage in environmental agriculture. They must produce the true food and need to know regional consumers. Consumers must pay attention to the regional agriculture and must participate the production of true food. Local government must open farmers' markets for direct marketing between farmers and consumers. NGOs should educate and organize the producers and consumers.

  • We investigate a three species food chain system with Lotka-Volterra type functional response and impulsive perturbations. We find a condition for the local stability of prey or predator free periodic solutions by applying the Floquet theory and the comparison theorems and show the boundedness of this system. Furthermore, we illustrate some examples.

충남 학부모의 무상학교급식 만족도와 이에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구 (A Study on Satisfaction for Free Food Service of Elementary and Middle School Parents in Chungnam Province)

  • The aims of this study was to investigate the satisfactions with school food service and its influencing factors for elementary and middle school parents. We surveyed parents regarding their concerns about food ingredients and dietary life, perceptions of free school food service, the necessity of food supply systems such as school food service centers, and the satisfaction about the quality and management of school food services. Compared to the last year, concerns about food ingredients and dietary life as well as perceptions about free school food services decreased. The reported necessity of supply system such as school food service centers and co-purchasing was lower than in 2015. The satisfaction about the school food service decreased, compared to 2015. More individuals had higher concerns about local food and stated the necessity for school food supply systems, as well as a higher satisfaction about the quality and management of school food services. In conclusion, it is important to emphasize characteristics of school food services such as co-purchasing local foods.
