In this research, the effects of fiber stacking sequence on damage behaviors of FML(Fiber Metal Laminates) subject to indentation loading. SOP (Singly Oriented Ply) FML and angle ply FML were fabricated to study fiber orientation effects and angle ply effects. FML were fabricated by using 1050 aluminum laminate and carbon/epoxy prepreg. To increase adhesive bonding strength, Al laminate was etched using FPL methods. The static indentation test were conducted by using UTM under the 2side clamped conditions. During the tests, load and displacement curve and crack initiation and propagation behaviors were investigated. As fiber orientation angle increases, the crack initiation load of SOP FML increases because the stiffness induced by fiber orientation is increased. The penetration load of SOP FML is influenced by the deformation tendency and boundary conditions. However, the macro-crack of angle ply FML was initiated by fiber breakage of lower ply because angle plies in Angle ply FML prevents the crack growth and consolidation. The Angle ply FML has a critical cross-angle which prevent crack growth and consolidation. Damage behavior of Angle ply FML is changed around the critical cross-angle.

The behavior of high strength reinforced concrete columns subjected to uniaxal reversal loading and biaxial reversal circle path loading was investigated. Four full scale test specimens were tested. All specimens were adopted cantilever type, in order that the critical region is to locate only at the bottom of column. The parameters studied were transverse reinforcement ratio, uniaxial lateral loading and biaxial lateral loading. The damage features of columns by the biaxial loading are different from those of the uniaxial loading, However, the maximum strength and the draft angle at maximum strength were almost the same under uniaxial and biaxial loading. The transverse reinforcement under biaxial loading was very effective for increasing ductility of specimens.

The objective of this work was finding out the most advisable testing conditions for an effective and robust characterization of the tensile strength (TS) of concrete disks. The independent variables were the loading geometry, the angle subtended by the contact area, disk diameter and thickness, maximum aggregate size, and the sample compression strength (CS). The effect of the independent variables was studied in a three groups of experiments using a factorial design with two levels and four factors. The likeliest location where failure beginning was calculated using the equations that account for the stress-strain field developed within the disk. The theoretical outcome shows that for failure beginning at the geometric center of the sample, it is necessary for the contact angle in the loading setup to be larger than or equal to a threshold value. Nevertheless, the measured indirect tensile strength must be adjusted to get a close estimate of the uniaxial TS of the material. The correction depends on the loading geometry, and we got their mathematical expression and cross-validated them with the reported in the literature. The experimental results show that a loading geometry with a curved contact area, uniform load distribution over the contact area, loads projected parallel to one another within the disk, and a contact angle bigger of $12^{\circ}$ is the most advisable and robust setup for implementation of BT on concrete disks. This work provides a description of the BT carries on concrete disks and put forward a characterization technique to study costly samples of cement based material that have been enabled to display new and improved properties with nanomaterials.
A series of centrifuge model tests to investigate the suction pile pullout loading capacity in sand have been performed. The main parameters that affect the pullout loading capacity of a suction pile include the mooring line inclination angle and the padeye position of the suction pile. With respect to the padeye position, the maximum pullout loading capacity is obtained when the padeye position is near 75% of the pile length from the top. The direction of the pile rotation changes when the padeye position reaches somewhere near 50~75% for all mooring line inclination angles. The translation displacement of suction pile to develop the time of maximum pullout loading capacity decreased as the mooring line inclination angle increased. In addition, the vertical displacements of the center of a suction piles for all cases appeared to develop toward the ground surface.

This paper examines the behaviour of two types of practical open beam-to-tubular column connection details subjected to combined moment, axial and/or shear loads. Detailed continuum finite element models are developed and validated against available experimental results, and extended to deal with flexural, axial and shear load interactions. A numerical investigation is then carried out on the behaviour of selected connections with different stiffness and strength characteristics under various load combination scenarios. The influence of applied levels of axial tensile or compressive loads on the bending stiffness and capacity is examined and discussed. Additionally, the interaction effects between shear forces and co-existing bending and axial loads are examined and shown to be comparatively insignificant in terms of stiffness and capacity in most cases. It is also shown that the range of connections considered in this paper can provide rotational ductility levels in excess of those required under typical design scenarios. Based on these findings, a simplified component-based representation is proposed and described, and its ability to represent the connection response under combined loading is verified using results from detailed numerical simulations.
In this study, in order to measure energy-absorbing characteristics in impact test of CFRP thin-walled laminates and interpret the cause of decreasing age when collapse test is carried out under the environments of high temperatures and hygrothermals, the moisture absorbing behavior according to the variety of orientation angle is observed and impact collapse characteristics of no moisture absorbing status is compared with that under the environments of high temperatures and hygrothermals. Especially, we try to obtain quantitative design data to develop CFRP thin-walled laminates with energy characteristics of optimum impact absorbing. The value of the maximum loading, mean loading, rate of energy absorption energy per unit volume and mass in CFRP thin-walled laminates on the high temperatures and hygrothermals is measured much lower than under no moisture absorbing. The maximum collapse loading in dynamic impact test is taken measurements lower than in static collapse test CFRP circular laminates in high temperatures and hygrothermals. But the absorbed energy per unit mass and volume is almost same each other and the biggest amount of energy is shown in CFRP circular laminates with orientation angle of $15^{\circ}$. Therefore, in the case of using CFRP circular laminates with axisymmetric mode, CFRP thin-walled structural members with orientation angle of $10^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$ has generally best condition.
A systematic set of low-speed wind tunnel experiments was performed at Re = 6.5×104 and 1.1×105 to study the mean wind loading experienced by surface-mounted finite-height square prisms for different aspect ratios, incidence angles, and boundary layer thicknesses. The aspect ratio of the prism was varied from AR = 1 to 11 in small increments and the incidence angle was changed from α = 0° to 45° in increments of 1°. Two different boundary layer thicknesses were used: a thin boundary layer with δ/D = 0.8 and a thick boundary layer with δ/D = 2.0-2.2. The mean drag and lift coefficients were strong functions of AR, α, and δ/D, while the Strouhal number was mostly influenced by α. The critical incidence angle, at which the prism experiences minimum drag, maximum lift, and highest vortex shedding frequency, increased with AR, converged to a value of αc = 18° ± 2° once AR was sufficiently high, and was relatively insensitive to changes in δ/D. A local maximum value of mean drag coefficient was identified for higher-AR prisms at low α. The overall behaviour of the force coefficients and Strouhal number with AR suggests the possibility of three flow regimes.

This paper is to investigate collapse mechanisms of CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics)composite tubes and to evaluate collapse characteristics on the change of interlaiminar number and ply orientation angle of outer under static and impact axial compression loads. When a CFRP composite tube is crushed, static/impact energy is consumed by friction between the loading plate and the splayed fronds of the tube, by fracture of the fibers, matrix and their interface. These are associated with the energy absorption capability. In general, CFRP tube with 6 interlaminar number(C-type), absorbed more energy than other tubes(A, B, D-types). The maximum collapse load seemed to increase as the interlaminar number of such tubes increases. The collapse mode depended upon orientation angle of outer of CFRP tubes and loading status(static/impact). Typical collapse modes of CFRP tubes are wedge collapse mode, splaying collapse mode and fragmentation collapse mode. The wedge collapse mode was shown in case of CFRP tubes with 0° orientation angle of outer under static and impact loadings. The splaying collapse mode was shown in only case of CFRP tubes with 90°orientation angle of outer under static loadings, however in Impact tests those were collapsed in fragmentation mode .
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the injury factors of Taekwondo jumping kick during landing phase according to the experience of injury and to suggest a stable landing movement applicable to free style Poomsae. Method: The participants were non-injury group (NG), n = 5, age: 20.5±0.9 years; height: 171.6±3.6 cm; body weight: 65.7±4.4 kg; career: 5.0±2.7 years. Injury group (IG), n = 9, age: 21.0±0.8 years; height: 170.9±4.6 cm; body weight: 67.1±7.0 kg; career: 8.6±5.0 years. The variables are impact force, loading rate, vertical stiffness, lower limb joint angle, stability, balance, and muscle activity in the landing phase. Results: NG was statistically larger than IG in the gluteus medius (p<.05). The impact force, loading rate and vertical stiffness decreased as the landing foot angle, the ROM of lower limb joint angle and COM displacement increased (p<.05). Conclusion: Based on the results, it means that the landing foot angle plays an important role in the impact reduction during landing phase. It is required the training to adjust the landing foot angle.

Shear connectors are essential elements in the design of steel-concrete composite systems. These connectors are utilized to prevent the occurrence of potential slips at the interface of steel and concrete. The two types of shear connectors which have been recently employed in construction projects are C- and L-shaped connectors. In the current study, the behavior of C and L-shaped angle shear connectors is investigated experimentally. For this purpose, eight push-out tests were composed and subjected to monotonic loading. The load-slip curves and failure modes have been determined. Also, the shear strength of the connectors has been compared with previously developed relationships. Two failure modes of shear connectors were observed: 1) concrete crushing-splitting and 2) shear connector fracture. It was found that the L-shaped connectors have less shear strength compared to C-shaped connectors, and decreasing the angle leg size increases the shear strength of the C-shaped connectors, but decreases the relative ductility and strength of L-shaped connectors.
