In this study, the performance of the Stirling type orifice Pulse tube refrigerator (OPTR) with a linear compressor was investigated by experiment. The dynamic pressures at three points and a temperature at the cold heat exchanger are measured to explore the dependency of the orifice on the performance of the OPTR. The experimental results show that the opening of the orifice has significant effects on the no load temperature and cool down characteristics. The Pressure amplitude in Pulse tube decrease as the opening of the orifice increase, but the mass flow rate through the orifice and the electric input Power to the compressor increase. The results show that the operating frequency and charging Pressure does not affect on the no load temperature. The pressure amplitude in pulse tube decrease as the operating frequency increase or the charging Pressure decreased.

Voltage unbalance is generated by the load and impedance mismatching at the 3-phase 4-wire system of customer load. Voltage unbalance factor can be changed by the voltage amplitude or phase angle, and both. A small voltage unbalance is connected to high current unbalance. If the voltage unbalance is generated at the joint system of 1-phase and 3-phase load, Induction motor due to the current unbalance increase is generated loss, noise and torque ripple. In order to analyze the effect by voltage unbalance, it is necessary to the consideration of amplitude and phase angle. In this paper, We analyzed the effects that induction motor is affected by asymmetric voltage unbalance

The interlayers, either softer or stiffer than the surrounding layers, are usually overlooked during field investigation due to the small thickness. They may be neglected through the analysis process for simplicity. However, they may significantly affect the dynamic behavior of the soil-foundation system. In this study, a series of 3D finite-element Direct-solution steady-state harmonic analyses were carried out using ABAQUS/CAE software to investigate the impacts of interlayers on the dynamic response of a cast in place pile group subjected to horizontal harmonic load. The experimental data of a 3×2 pile group testing was used to verify the numerical modeling. The effects of thickness, depth, and shear modulus of the interlayers on the dynamic response of the pile group are investigated. The simulations were conducted on both stiff and soft soils. It was found that the soft interlayers affect the frequency-amplitude curve of the system only in frequencies higher than 70% of the resonant frequency of the base soil. While, the effect of stiff interlayer in soft base soil started at frequency of 35% of the resonant frequency of the base soil. Also, it was observed that a shallow stiff interlayer increased the resonant amplitude by 11%, while a deep one only increased the resonant frequency by 7%. Moreover, a shallow soft interlayer increased the resonant frequency by 20% in soft base soils, whereas, it had an effect as low as 6% on resonant amplitude. Also, the results showed that deep soft interlayers increased the resonant amplitude by 17 to 20% in both soft and stiff base soils due to a reduction in lateral support of the piles. In the cases of deep thick, soft interlayers, the resonant frequency reduced significantly, i.e., 16 to 20%. It was found that the stiff interlayers were most effective on the amplitude and frequency of the pile group.

In tunneling and road cuts by blasting, it is of the utmost importance that the remaining rock is of high quality in order to avoid rockfall, rockslides and excessive maintenance work. Therefore, numerous blasting techniques which make use of decoupled charge or shock wave superposition effect have been used to control overbrake. In this paper. some approximate method for the determination of blast load according to the charge condition was introduced at first and, instrumented tests were conducted in small scale transparent material to investigate the shape and amplitude of blast load around the bore hole. Compare to the fully coupled charge, low amplitude of blast load around the bore hole was observed in the decoupled charge and explosion gas pressure was important in the shape of blast load. Therefore, quasi-static behaviour of the crack pattern was shown due to low loading rate.
Crack closure and growth behavior of physically short fatigue cracks under random loading are investigated by performing narrow- and wide-band random loading tests for various stress ratios. The importance of the crack closure phenomenon is examined by predicting the growth lives of short cracks using obtained crack opening behavior. Artificially prepared two-dimensional, short through-thickness cracks are used. The crack opening load of short cracks is much lower under random loading than under constant-amplitude loading corresponding to the largest load cycle in a random load history. This result indicates that the largest load cycle in a random load history has an effect to enhance crack opening of short cracks. Most of the life prediction ratios are within the factor of 2 scatter band except several data at very short crack sizes, indicating that crack growth predictions based on the measured crack opening data are excellent. From the results obtained in this study, it can be concluded that crack closure is the primary factor governing fatigue crack growth of short cracks under random loading as well as under constant-amplitude loading.

In this study, to propose the prediction method of the crack growth under flight-simulation loading, crack growth tests are conducted on 2124-7851 aluminum alloy specimens. The prediction of crack growth under flight-simulation loading is performed by the stochastic crack growth model which was developed in previous study. First of all, to reduce the complex load history into a number of constant amplitude events, rainflow counting is applied to the flight-simulation loading wave. The crack growth, then, is predicted by the stochastic crack growth model that can describe the load interaction effect as well as the variability in crack growth process. The material constants required in this model are obtained from crack growth tests under constant amplitude loading and single tensile overload. The curves predicted by the proposed model well describe the crack growth behavior under flight-simulation loading and agree with experimental data. In addition, this model well predicts the variability of fatigue lives.

we analyzed acoustic emission signals obtained from three kinds of brittle materials under compression load by Vickers hardness tester. The results obtained can be summarized as follows; The signal in each material could be divided into three signal based on the properties of load. All specimens were not detected acoustic emission signals in stage II which was load constant region., and were detected in stage I and stage III. Glass was detected high amplitude signals in stage III. $Al_2O_3\;and\;Al_2O_3/Sic$ were detected high amplitude signals in stage I.
The vibration characteristics of the pad fluttering in a fluid film tilting pad journal bearing (4-pad LBP) have been investigated experimentally under the different values of oil supply flow rate, bearing load and shaft speed. The vibration characteristics of the pad fluttering are estimated by measuring the time signal of circumferential distribution of the film thickness and the cascade plot of the response of the relative displacement between the bearing and the shaft. It is shown that the vibration frequency of the pad fluttering has a sub-synchronous frequency and almost does not change by the increase of shaft speed. However the vibration amplitude is increased by the increase of shaft speed. From those experimental results, pad fluttering can be thought of as a self-excited vibration. The incipient pad fluttering velocity is increased by the increase of oil supply flow rate and by the decrease of bearing load. It is observed that the vibration amplitude of the pad fluttering can be decrease by the control of supply oil flow rate effectively. And also It is known that the outbreak of pad fluttering does not concern with the shaft vibration.
In this paper, the nonlinear static and free vibration analysis of Euler-Bernoulli composite beam model reinforced by functionally graded single-walled carbon nanotubes (FG-SWCNTs) with initial geometrical imperfection under uniformly distributed load using finite element method (FEM) is investigated. The governing equations of equilibrium are derived by the Hamilton's principle and von Karman type nonlinear strain-displacement relationships are employed. Also the influences of various loadings, amplitude of the waviness, UD, USFG, and SFG distributions of carbon nanotube (CNT) and different boundary conditions on the dimensionless transverse displacements and nonlinear frequency ratio are presented. It is seen that with increasing load, the displacement of USFG beam under force loads is more than for the other states. Moreover it can be seen that the nonlinear to linear natural frequency ratio decreases with increasing aspect ratio (h/L) for UD, USFG and SFG beam. Also, it is shown that at the specified value of (h/L), the natural frequency ratio increases with the increasing the values amplitude of waviness while the dimensionless nonlinear to linear maximum deflection decreases. Moreover, with considering the amplitude of waviness, the stiffness of Euler-Bernoulli beam model reinforced by FG-CNT increases. It is concluded that the R parameter increases with increasing of volume fraction while the rate of this parameter decreases. Thus one can be obtained the optimum value of FG-CNT volume fraction to prevent from resonance phenomenon.
