  • Objectives : This study attempts to identify the concept of Link meridian in previous medical books, and explore how Link meridian theory was used in a clinical practice focusing on YeTianshi. Methods : This study looked at the medical books related to acupuncture and moxibustion in the past and the part where Link meridian is mentioned in the annotations of "Huangdineijing" and "Nanjing", and examined how medical doctors prior to YeTianshi used Link meridian in a clinical practice. And then this study examined treatment cases in the medical records of YeTianshi. Results & conclusions : Yang-Link meridian and Eum-Link meridian were arranged as ascending route by the majority of medical doctors. However, there are doubts because startpoints of them are not "Jeyanghoe" and "Jeeumgyo" respectively described in "Nanjing". Link meridian is thought to be a structure that connects each meridian passing through crossing points with each crossing point itself as a starting point. Thus, Link meridian can be seen as a role in strengthening the connection of crossing meridians and balancing and controlling those meridians centering on each crossing point. The point that YeTianshi's identifying that pathology of Eight extra meridians associates with liver and kidney(肝腎) to be a symptom of weakness, and his development of Link meridian's physiology and pathology through the relationship with other Eight extra meridians are thought to be more advanced than the previous medicine prior to YeTianshi.

  • We define a crossing of a link without referring to a specific projection of the link and describe a construction of a non-normalized Alexander polynomial associated to collections of such crossings of oriented links under an equivalence relation, called homology relation. The polynomial is computed from a special Seifert surface of the link. We prove that the polynomial is well-defined for the homology equivalence classes, investigate its relationship with the combinatorially defined Alexander polynomials and study some of its properties.

  • Currently, the development of industry makes needs larger electric supply. Providers must consider the efficiency about losses and reliability of the system. In this case, DC power system can save electrical energy; long-distance transmission line losses. Relevance to switch technology with a voltage-source converter (VSC) in AC-DC conversion system have been researched. But, protection device of DC-link against fault current is still needed to study much. VSC DC power system is vulnerable to DC-cable short-circuit and ground faults, because DC-link has a huge size of capacitor filter which releases extremely large current during DC faults. Furthermore, DC has a fatal flaw that current zero crossing is nonexistence. To interrupt the DC, several methods which make a zero crossing is used; parallel connecting self-excited series LC circuit with main switch, LC circuit with power electronic device called hybrid DC circuit breaker. Meanwhile, self-excited oscillator needs a huge size capacitor that produces big oscillation current which makes zero crossing. This capacitor has a quite effective on the price of DCCB. In this paper, hybrid self-excited type superconducting DCCB which are using AC circuit breaker system is studied by simulation tool PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • Unknotting numbers for torus knots and links are well known. In this paper, we present a new approach to determine the position of unknotting number crossing changes in a toric braid such that the closure of the resultant braid is equivalent to the trivial knot or link. Further we give unknotting numbers of more than 600 knots.

  • Both the first author and the company of the second author were involved, directly or indirectly, in the design stage of a permanent link between the bottom of the Italian peninsula and the nearby Sicily island. This ambitious project was left in stand-by from 2013 to 2023. The current political revival originates some thoughts on the updated desired performance of suspension bridges, without any immediate reference to that specific crossing. It is simply regarded as a starting point. After an update on recent worldwide realizations, the authors focus their attention on four basic aspects: the span length, the girder scheme, the foundation technology and the bridge runability. Eventually, structural control and monitoring aspects are discussed as potentially innovative options in designing suspension bridges with railway crossing.

  • This study focus to make 8 legs robot based on Jansen's mechanism. In the process of making, we found GL(Ground length),GAC(Ground Angle Coefficient) and the height difference of tract and compare Several models with M.Sketch to find link's Length ratio Optimised simple walking and crossing of obstacles. In the process, our team Analyzed the difference ideal tract (Jansen holy number model's track) contrived by Jansen and our final model tract. As a result, we found optimal link's length ratio to over the obstacles and some features that our model differ from Jansen holy number model. It means that optimal link's length ratio depends on certain circumstances, perfect length ratio is nonexistent.

  • The Bering Strait crossing would link the entirety of Eurasia to the entirety of the Americas, and it can be seen as a natural extension of the historical Silk Road. There are some immense geopolitical benefits to such a project. It would bring about a profound and lasting change to the global economic and political outlook. The most valued function of the Bering Strait crossing and the extension of the associated railroad network would be to release the massive natural resources trapped underneath the tundra and permafrost for the benefit of Russia and the world. Moreover, the railroad project(s) would also build development corridors in those underdeveloped parts of the Russian Federation. The development of the resources and their rapid transportation to the global markets would contribute not only to the overall development of the region but also would be valuable for the resource-poor countries of Northeast Asia such as Japan, Korea, and China (relative to its economic size). This paper will explore the possible impact(s) of the Bering Strait crossing as a formidable infrastructure project for the economic development of the Russian Far East (RFE) from the Russian perspective under the frame of geopolitics. Furthermore, it will equally scrutinize the implications for the adjacent countries in the region.

  • The aim of this paper is to endow a monoid structure on the set S of all oriented knots(links) under the operation ${\biguplus}$, called addition of knots. Moreover, we prove that there exists a homomorphism of monoids between ($S_d,\;{\biguplus}$) to (N, +), where $S_d$ is a subset of S with an extra condition and N is the monoid of non negative integers under usual addition.

  • CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is a promising air interface technique for digital cellular systems. The soft handoff between base stations is one of many important features of CDMA for the mobile stations crossing the cell boundaries. The service areas of MSC's (Mobile Switching Centers) are defined as the unions of the service areas of the base stations connected to MSC's and are assumed to have hexagonal shapes. An analytical approach to the performance analysis of the link between MSC's for supporting the inter-MSC soft handoff scheme will be developed to obtain the probability that a soft handoff to an adjacent MSC will be blocked due to the shortage of the link capacity. Also, the rate of new connection establishments that are requested by the mobile stations moving to the service area of an MSC according to the inter-MSC soft handoff scheme will be obtained.

  • In this paper, the dynamic analysis and design of an AC to AC power supply with DC current link is presented. Despite many advantages of such a structure, its application in fixed frequency power supplies has received very little attention in the literature. Different issues related to dynamic analysis of the proposed system are considered. These include a simple averaging technique for modeling switching function generators, the concept of Internal Model Controllers, and necessary condition to avoid multiple crossing in ramp comparison methods. Theoretical and experimental results obtained from a DSP-based laboratory type setup are presented.
