A selection methodology of liquid levelmeters, especially, level sensors in non-nuclear category, to be installed in nuclear energy facilities is developed using linguistic fuzzy approaches such as fully-linguistic and semi-linguistic methods. Depending on defuzzification techniques, the linguistic fuzzy methodology leads to either linguistic (exactly, fully-linguistic) or cardinal (i.e., semi-linguistic) evaluation. For the linguistic method, for each alternative, fuzzy preference index is converted to linguistic utility value by means of a similarity measure determining the degree of similarity between fuzzy index and linguistic ratings. For the cardinal method, the index is translated to cardinal overall utility value. According to these values, alternatives of interest are linguistically or numerically evaluated and a suitable alternative can be selected. Under given selection criteria, the suitable selections out of some liquid levelmeters for nuclear facilities are dealt with using the linguistic fuzzy methodology proposed. Then, linguistic fuzzy evaluation results are compared with qualitative result available in the literature. It is found that as to a suitable option the linguistic fuzzy selection is in agreement with the qualitative selection. Additionally, the comparative study shows that the fully-linguistic method using adequate scale system facilitates linguistic interpretation regarding evaluation results.

The character dialogue created by AI is unnatural when compared with human-made dialogue, and it can not reveal the character's personality properly in spite of remarkable development of AI. The purpose of this paper is to classify characters through the linguistic style and to investigate the relation of the specific linguistic style with the personality. We analyzed the dialogues of 92 characters selected from total 60 movies categorized four movie genres, such as romantic comedy, action, comedy and horror/thriller, using Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC), a text analysis software. As a result, we confirmed that there is a unique language style according to genre. Especially, we could find that the emotional tone than analytical thinking are two important features to classify. They were analyzed as very important features for classification as the precision and recall is over 78% for romantic comedy and action. However, the precision and recall were 66% and 50% for comedy and horror/thriller. Their impact on classification was less than romantic comedy and action genre. The characters of romantic comedy deal with the affection between men and women using a very high value of emotional tone than analytical thinking. The characters of action genre who need rational judgment to perform mission have much greater analytical thinking than emotional tone. Additionally, in the case of comedy and horror/thriller, we analyzed that they have many kinds of characters and that characters often change their personalities in the story.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the consumption value and characteristic of content in cosmetics & perfume advertisement in men's fashion magazines in order to understand the changes of men's cosmetics market which is recently getting great attention along with the craze for 'florally handsome men', and 'eolzzang'(=gorgeous face), and examine the changes of the culture of men's make-up. I selected Esquire which had firstly produced men's fashion magazine in Korea, and implemented the content analysis, the quantitative analysis method, by separating linguistic elements ken visual elements. The results are as follows: In the analysis of consumption value revealed in the linguistic elements of cosmetics advertisement, emotion value was the highest in both cosmetics and perfume, while function value was the second highest in cosmetics and rarity value was the second highest in perfume. About the changes of content characteristics of visual elements, in both cosmetics and perfume advertisement, there were a lot of visual advertisements focused on figures without the mixture of linguistic expressions. Between advertisement in 1990s and that in 2000s, there were meaningful differences only in types and object of meaning of used symbols.

We can not distinguish semantism of the feature of the current language “big”, “small”, “beautiful”. But we study artificial linguistic interface work and convert natural language to digital binary linguistic theory, we should define the basical conversion process. When we utilize the sum of product fuzzy theory and the visible numerical value, we can establish reasoning rule of input language. Fuzzy theory should be converted to general resulting rule.

Ying[M.S. Ying, Linguistic quantifiers modeled by Sugeno integrals, Artificial Intelligence 170(2006) 581-606] studied a framework for modeling quantifiers in natural languages in which each linguistic quantifier is represented by a family of fuzzy measures and the truth value of a quantified proposition is evaluated by using Sugeno integral. In this paper, we consider interval-valued fuzzy measures and interval quantifiers which are the generalized concepts of fuzzy measures and quantifiers, respectively. We also investigate logical properties of a first order language with interval quantifiers modeled by the Sugeno integral with respect to an interval-valued fuzzy measures.

The main purpose of this study was to develop fuzzy models in order to decide system failure rate in industrial accident prevention. The purposed linguistic approach uses the Zadeh's concept of a linguistic variable with value which are not number. The problem of measurement Is the assignment of numbers to reprresnt properties of the involved events, object, or situation. Thus, in this study, part standard compatibility function was used.

This paper proposes the pedestrian navigation system which deals with subjective information. This system consists of the route setting part and the instruction generation part. The route setting part chooses the route with highest subjective satisfaction degree. The instruction generation part gives users the instructions based on the users' sensuous feeling of distance with linguistic expressions. Fuzzy measures and integrals are applied to the calculation of the satisfaction degree of the route which reflects the users' taste for routes. The instruction generation part has database of users' cognitive distance. Users' cognitive distances are expressed by fuzzy sets that correspond to linguistic terms. The system generates the instructions with linguistic terms which have the highest fitness value for the users' sensuous feeling of distance. This paper also performs subjective experiments in order to confirm the validity of the present system.

공간과 관련된 의사결정문제 해결에 필요한 취득가능한 자료나 정보는 불완전하거나 부정확하며, 많은 부분 자연산어(natural language)로 기술되어 있다. 이 같은 정보들을 컴퓨터를 이용하여 처리하기 위해서는 결국 컴퓨터로 하여금 인간이 사용하는 자연어를 이해할 수 있도록 애매한 특성의 언어값(Linguistic value)을 정량적으로 기술할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 퍼지집합(fuzzy set) 이론을 퍼지논리(fuzzy logic)가 대표적인 방법론으로 이용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 부정확하거나 불명확한 자료 및 정보를 기반으로 의사결정문제를 지능적으로 처리하기위해 사용자가 가장 이해하기 쉬운 자연어로 『언어모델』을 구축하고, 평가사안이나 의사결정문제가 불명확하게 서술될 경우 컴퓨터를 이용한 구조화 및 추론을 통한 문제해결이 가능하도록 퍼지추론기관구축을 위한 일련의 논리적 개념과 구축과정을 연구하였다.

The purpose of this research was to study the origins and the meanings of the Kokal (고깔). Comparative linguistic analytical approaches were employed to trace the development of the word, the Kokal(고깔). Results of this study revealed that the kotkal(곳갈, 곧갈) was a general term referring to a variety of head coverings in eh period of Choson Dynasty. This broad meanings of the Kotkal(곳갈,곧갈) of the Chosun Dynasty period has been changed to a narrow sense meanings a conical cap made of folds of the material, mainly used by some of the Buddhist monks in modern Korean. Also, the phonetic value of the Kotkal(곳갈,곧갈) of the Choson Dynasty period changed to the Kokal(고깔) in modern Korean. A variety of words for the Kokal(고깔) was found in the different languages such as Latin, English, French, Turkish, German, Mongolian, and Chinese. The examination and analysis of this study indicated that the origin of the Korean word Kotkal(곳갈,곧갈) or Kokal(고깔) and the meanings of it were derived from LL. Cuculla(monk's cowl)

A composite adaptive dual fuzzy controller combining the approximate mathematical model, linguistic model description, linguistic control rules and identification modeling error into a single adaptive fuzzy controller is developed for a nonlinear system. It ensures the system output tracks the desired reference value and excites the plant sufficiently for accelerating the parameter estimation process so that the control performances are greatly improved. Using the Lyapunov synthesis approach, proposed controller is analyzed and simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.
