In this paper, a control technique of Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties is developed. The uncertain TS fuzzy system is represented as an uncertain multiple linear system. The control problem of TS fuzzy system is converted into the stabilization problem of a uncertain multiple linear system. A sufficient condition for robust stabilization is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). A Design example is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper presents an $H_{\infty)$ output feedback controller design method for linear systems with delayed state, delayed control input, and delayed masurement output. Using a Lyapunov functional, the stability for delayed systems is discussed independently of delays. Also, sufficient condition for the existence of $H_{\infty)$ controllers of any order is given in terms of three linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Based on positive definite solutions of their LMIs, we briefly explain the way to construct $H_{\infty)$ controller, which stabilizes time-delay systems independently of delays and guarantees an $H_{\infty)$norm bound.

Systematical robust stability analysis and design scheme for the feedback linearization control systems via fuzzy modeling are proposed. It is considered that uncertainty and disturbances are included in the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models representing the nonlinear plants. Robust stability of the closed system is analyzed by casting the systems into the diagonal norm bounded linear differential inclusions and by converting the analysis and design problems into the linear matrix inequality optimization, a numerical method for finding the maximum stable ranges of the fuzzy feedback linearization control gains is also proposed. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, the robust stability analysis and control design examples are given.

A novel neural network model, termed the standard neural network model (SNNM), similar to the nominal model in linear robust control theory, is suggested to facilitate the synthesis of controllers for delayed (or non-delayed) nonlinear systems composed of neural networks. The model is composed of a linear dynamic system and a bounded static delayed (or non-delayed) nonlinear operator. Based on the global asymptotic stability analysis of SNNMs, Static state-feedback controller and dynamic output feedback controller are designed for the SNNMs to stabilize the closed-loop systems, respectively. The control design equations are shown to be a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be easily solved by various convex optimization algorithms to determine the control signals. Most neural-network-based nonlinear systems with time delays or without time delays can be transformed into the SNNMs for controller synthesis in a unified way. Two application examples are given where the SNNMs are employed to synthesize the feedback stabilizing controllers for an SISO nonlinear system modeled by the neural network, and for a chaotic neural network, respectively. Through these examples, it is demonstrated that the SNNM not only makes controller synthesis of neural-network-based systems much easier, but also provides a new approach to the synthesis of the controllers for the other type of nonlinear systems.

This paper presents a method for designing fuzzy $H_2/H_{\infty}$ controllers of nonlinear systems with time varying delay. Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is employed to represent nonlinear systems with time varying delay. Using a single quadratic Lyapunov function, the globally exponential stability and $H_2/H_{\infty}$ performance problem are discussed. A sufficient condition for the existence of fuzzy $H_2/H_{\infty}$ controllers is then presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMls). The proposed fuzzy $H_2/H_{\infty}$ controllers minimizes the upper bound on the linear quadratic performance measure.
This paper deals with a tracking problem for nonlinear systems using its T-S fuzzy model and internal model. We extend the internal model of linear systems to an internal model of T-S fuzzy systems to accompany with state error of zero. A sufficient condition of the existence of a tracking controller for T-S fuzzy systems is expressed by linear matrix inequalities. A system of inverted pendulum on cart is illustrated to verify our method.

The stability robustness problem of linear discrete-time systems with time-varying perturbations is considered. By using Lyapunov direct method, the perturbation bounds for guaranteeing the quadratic stability of the uncertain systems are derived. In the previous results, the perturbation bounds are derived by the quadratic equation stemmed from Lyapunov method. In this paper, the bounds are obtained by a numerical optimization technique. Linear matrix inequalities are proposed to compute the perturbation bounds. It is demonstrated that the suggested bound is less conservative for the uncertain systems with unstructured perturbations and seems to be maximal in many examples. Furthermore, the suggested bound is shown to be maximal for the special classes of structured perturbations.

This paper presents a delay-dependent approach to robust filtering for linear parameter-varying (LPV) systems with discrete and distributed time-invariant delays in the states and outputs. It is assumed that the state-space matrices affinely depend on parameters that are measurable in real-time. Some new parameter-dependent delay-dependent stability conditions are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) such that the filtering process remains asymptotically stable and satisfies a prescribed $H_{\infty}$ performance level. Using polynomially parameter-dependent quadratic (PPDQ) functions and some Lagrange multiplier matrices, we establish the parameter-independent delay-dependent conditions with high precision under which the desired robust $H_{\infty}$ filters exist and derive the explicit expression of these filters. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed design approach.

In this paper a new type of filter, called the $H_2/H_{\infty}$ FIR filter, is proposed for discrete-time state space signal models. The proposed filter requires linearity, unbiased property, FIR structure, and independence of the initial state information in addition to the performance criteria in both $H_2$ and $H_{infty}$ sense. It is shown that $H_2,\;H_{\infty}$, and $H_2/H_{\infty}$ FIR filter design problems can be converted into convex programming problems via linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) with a linear equality constraint. Simulation studies illustrate that the proposed FIR filter is more robust against temporary uncertainties and has faster convergence than the conventional IIR filters.
In this paper, a delay-dependent stability criterion for time-delayed linear parameter varying (LPV) systems is considered. Stability criterion has been developed on the basis of including x(t-h) and x(t) and introducing free variables to eliminate model dynamics. Since the resultant criterion is formed parameterized linear matrix inequalities (PLMIs), we propose a relaxation technique that allows to find an LMI formulation. Examples demonstrate the efficiency of the criterion over the existing results.
