  • It is important to control performance and a Sustainable Collaboration (SC) for the successful Supply Chain Management (SCM). This research developed a control model which analyzed SCM performances based on a Balanced Scorecard (ESC) and an SC using Support Vector Machine (SVM). 108 specialists of an SCM completed the questionnaires. We analyzed experimental data set using SVM. This research compared the forecasting accuracy of an SCMSC through four types of SVM kernels: (1) linear, (2) polynomial (3) Radial Basis Function (REF), and (4) sigmoid kernel (linear > RBF > Sigmoid > Polynomial). Then, this study compares the prediction performance of SVM linear kernel with Artificial Neural Network. (ANN). The research findings show that using SVM linear kernel to forecast an SCMSC is the most outstanding. Thus SVM linear kernel provides a promising alternative to an SC control level. A company which pursues an SCM can use the information of an SC in the SVM model.

  • The linear support vector machine(SVM) is motivated by the maximal margin separating hyperplane and is a popular tool for binary classification tasks. Many studies exist on the consistency properties of SVM; however, it is unknown whether the linear SVM is consistent for estimating the optimal classification boundary even in the simple case of two Gaussian classes with a common covariance, where the optimal classification boundary is linear. In this paper we show that the linear SVM can be inconsistent in the univariate Gaussian classification problem with a common variance, even when the best tuning parameter is used.

  • In this paper, SVM-based speaker classification is experimented with GMM-supervector. To create a speaker cluster, conventional speaker change detection is performed with the KL distance using the SNR-based weighting function. SVM-based speaker classification consists of two steps. In the first step, SVM-based classification between UBM and speaker models is performed, speaker information is indexed in each cluster, and then grouped by speaker. In the second step, the SVM-based classification between UBM and speaker models is performed by inputting the speaker cluster group. Linear and RBF are applied as kernel functions for SVM-based classification. As a result, in the first step, the case of applying the linear kernel showed better performance than RBF with 148 speaker clusters, MDR 0, FAR 47.3, and ER 50.7. The second step experiment result also showed the best performance with 109 speaker clusters, MDR 1.3, FAR 28.4, and ER 32.1 when the linear kernel was applied.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to improve the performance of supervector linear kernel SVM (Support Vector Machine) for speaker identification. This method is based on splitting one training datum into several pieces of utterances. We use four different databases for evaluating performance and use PCA (Principal Component Analysis), GKPCA (Greedy Kernel PCA) and KMDA (Kernel Multimodal Discriminant Analysis) for feature enhancement. As a result, the proposed method shows improved performance for speaker identification using supervector linear kernel SVM.

  • A quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) study is performed for modeling and prediction of oral bioavailabilities of 216 diverse set of drugs. After calculation and screening of molecular descriptors, linear and nonlinear models were developed by using multiple linear regression (MLR), artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM) and random forest (RF) techniques. Comparison between statistical parameters of these models indicates the suitability of SVM over other models. The root mean square errors of SVM model were 5.933 and 4.934 for training and test sets, respectively. Robustness and reliability of the developed SVM model was evaluated by performing of leave many out cross validation test, which produces the statistic of $Q^2_{SVM}=0.603$ and SPRESS = 7.902. Moreover, the chemical applicability domains of model were determined via leverage approach. The results of this study revealed the applicability of QSAR approach by using SVM in prediction of oral bioavailability of drugs.

  • Support vector machine(SVM) is a new and very promising regression and classification technique developed by Vapnik and his group at AT&T Bell laboratories. This article provides a brief overview of SVM focusing on linear regression. We explain from statistical point of view why SVM might be attractive and how this could be compared with other linear regression techniques. Furthermore. we explain model selection based on VC-theory.

  • This paper describes the design of a high-performance unified SVM classifier circuit. The proposed circuit supports both linear and non-linear SVM classifications. In order to ensure efficient classification, a 48x96 or 64x64 sliding window with 20 window strides is used. We reduced the circuit size by sharing most of the resources required for both types of classification. We described the proposed unified SVM classifier circuit using the Verilog HDL and synthesized the gate-level circuit using 65nm standard cell library. The synthesized circuit consists of 661,261 gates, operates at the maximum operating frequency of 152 MHz and processes up to 33.8 640x480 image frames per second.

  • When using the Support Vector Machine in the online signature verification, SVM kernel function should be chosen to use non-linear SVM and the constant parameters in the kernel functions should be adjusted to appropriate values to reduce the error rate of signature verification. Non-linear SVM which is built on a strong mathematical basis shows better performance of classification with the higher discrimination power. However, choosing the kernel function and adjusting constant parameter values depend on the heuristics of the problem domain. In the signature verification, this paper deals with the problems of selecting the correct kernel function and constant parameters' values, and shows the kernel function and coefficient parameter's values with the minimum error rate. As a result of this research, we expect the average error rate to be less than 1%.

  • As a method to compensate the deterioration of the picture quality which was caused by beam profile characteristic in the CRT and the projection screen of HD projection TV, a linear scan velocity modulation(SVM) method has been employed, whose modulation velocity is linearly proportional to the variation in the video signal amplitude. However, the effect of picture quality improvement is not uniform with video signal amplitude in the linear SVM. In this paper, for the optimum SVM effect, we analyze the beam profile characteristic on the HD projection screen and we analyze the SVM effect as function of the differentiated pulse width, the differentiated pulse amplitude and the input signal amplitude. Finally we confirm that the nonlinear SVM method is necessary to get uniform image compensation in the HD projection TV, and we implement the nonlinear SVM circuit. The performance of the realized SVM circuit with nonlinear amplitude transfer characteristic is confirmed as uniform improvements in picture quality.
