In this paper, a motion image is detected based on the irregularity of lights. This motion image is extracted by modifying the reflected light region of the 3 way-diff algorithms. 3 way-diff algorithm extracts reflected light region using the 3-successive image. In this algorithm, The reflected light region is a region generated by light in the image production process and is finally created around all objects. The algorithm shows a process to extracting the region. This process is a simple operation, but doesn't have a defined formula for light. This paper judges that the reflected light region is a kind of noise at the 3 way-diff algorithms and defines the formula for extracting the reflected light region. It shows that compared with the proposed algorithm and existing algorithm through experiment.
As AI-technology develops, interest in the safety of autonomous driving is increasing. Recently, autonomous vehicles have been increasing, but efforts to solve side effects have been sluggish. In particular, night autonomous vehicles have more problems. This is because the probability of accidents is higher in the night driving environment than in the day environment. There are more factors to consider for self-driving at night. Among these factors, reflection of light or reflected light of lighting may be a fundamental cause of night accidents. Therefore, this study proposes method to reduce accidents and improve safety by reducing reflected light generated by the headlights of opposite vehicles or various surrounding light that appear as an important problem in night autonomous vehicles. Therefore, first, in an image obtained by a sensor of a night autonomous vehicle, illumination reflected light is extracted using reflected light characteristic information, and a color of each pixel using a reflection coefficient is found to reduce a special area generated by geometric characteristics. In addition, we find a new area using only the brightness component of the specular area, define it as Illuminated Reflection Light (IRL), and finally present a method to reduce it. Although the illumination reflection light could not be completely reduce, generally satisfactory results could be obtained. Therefore, it is believed that the proposed study can reduce casualties by solving the problems of night autonomous driving and improving safety.

From the Beckmann's reflection model of wave incident, reflected light from a surface is known to have not only specular but also diffuse components. The specular component dominant a surface for a mirror-like surface is distributed on the almost the same area as the spot on the surface, but the diffuse component region dominant f3r a rough surface spreads scattered on the larger areas than the spot. Therefore, statistic parameters from the scattered light distribution are more meaningful in the diffuse region, while the magnitude of rather meaning in the specular region. In usual, there need two sensors to acquire two kinds of information: Photo-detector for light intensity magnitude and image sensor for light intensity distribution. But dual sensor scheme requires a beam splitter usually to feed light to each sensor, and moreover there is not a combination rule to relieve the different sensor characteristics. In this study a new method is proposed for acquisition of the dual information using only an image sensor. Specular region is established on an image area being distinguished from a diffuse component, and laser power is adjusted so that no pixel of the image sensor in the specular region is saturated. Simulation based on the light reflection theory and the experimental results are quite well matched, and thus the proposed method was proved to be very useful for mirror-like surface measurement.
Motion detection algorithms based on difference image are classified into background subtraction and previous frame subtraction. 1) Background subtraction is a convenient and effective method for detecting foreground objects in a stationary background. However in real world scenarios, especially outdoors, this restriction, (i.e., stationary background) often turns out to be impractical since the background may not be stable. 2) Previous frame subtraction is a simple technique for detecting motion in an image. The difference between two frames depends upon the amount of motion that occurs from one frame to the next. Both these straightforward methods fail when the object moves very "slightly and slowly". In order to efficiently deal with the problem, in this paper we present an algorithm for motion detection that incorporates "reflected light area" and "difference image". This reflected light area is generated during the frame production process. It processes multiplex difference image and AND-arithmetic of bitwise. This process incorporates the accuracy of background subtraction and environmental adaptability of previous frame subtraction and reduces noise generation. Also, the performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by the performance assessment of each method using Gait database sample of CASIA.

An optical fiber-based beam width measurement technique is presented. The proposed system can be applied to the optical fiber industry in applications such as lensed fiber, optical fiber based laser beam source, and fiber optic sensor. The measurement system is composed of optical fiber, which is used as a transceiver, and a single grating panel which consists of a multi-reflection area with an even non-reflection area. The grating panel is used to vary the reflected light. When the widths of the reflection area and non-reflection area are larger than the optical beam width, the reflected light is varied at the interface between the reflection area and the non-reflection area by the movement of the grating panel. Experiments were conducted in order to verify the feasibility of the proposed technique. Multi-mode fiber combined with a collimator was selected as an emitter and a receiver, and the beam width measurement system was contrived. Subsequently, the proposed method and the system were verified by comparing the experimental results with the results of the conventional charge-coupled device technique.
A depth measurement system to recognize 3D shape of objects using single camera, line laser and a rotating mirror has been investigated. The camera and the light source are fixed, facing the rotating mirror. The laser light is reflected by the mirror and projected to the scene objects whose locations are to be determined. The camera detects the laser light location on object surfaces through the same mirror. The scan over the area to be measured is done by mirror rotation. The Segmentation process of object recognition is performed using the depth data of restored 3D data. The Object recognition domain can be reduced by separating area of interest objects from complex background.

In the process of lithography using ultra violet light sources for semiconductor devices, most of defects are made by sub-micrometer pollutants generated at photochemical reactions. We proposed and developed a novel vibration-insensitive on-axis interferometer with a sub-micrometer lateral resolution by using the interference between two beams: one scattered from defects and the other reflected from a reference area without defects. The proposed system was successfully demonstrated to detect a small Al defect of 0.5 ${\mu}m$ diameter within the inspection time of less than 30 minutes over the area of the photo-mask which is 6 inch by 6 inch square.
Point contact film thickness in elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) is analyzed by image processing method for the images from an optical interferometer with monochromatic incident light. Interference between the reflected lights both on half mirror Cr coating of glass disk and on super finished ball makes circular fringes depending on the contact conditions such as sliding velocity, applied load, viscosity-pressure characteristics and viscosity of lubricant under ambient pressure. In this situation the film thickness is regarded as the difference of optical paths between those reflected lights, which make dark and bright fringes with monochromatic incident light. The film thickness is computed by numbering the dark and bright fringe orders and the intensity (gray scale image) in each fringe regime is mapped to the corresponding film thickness. In this work, we developed a measuring technique for EHL film thickness by dividing the image patterns into two typical types under the condition of monochromatic incident light. During the image processing, the captured image is converted into digitally formatted data over the contact area without any loss of the image information of interferogram and it is also interpreted with consistency regardless of the observer's experimental experience. It is expected that the developed image processing method will provide a valuable basis to develop the image processing technique for color fringes, which is generally used for the measurement of relatively thin films in higher resolution.
At present, an important research area is the search for materials that are compatible with CMOS technology and achieve a satisfactory response rate and modulation efficiency. A strong local field of graphene surface plasmon polariton (SPP) can increase the interaction between light and graphene, reduce device size, and facilitate the integration of materials with CMOS. In this study, we design a new modulator of SPP-based cycle branch graphene waveguide. The structure comprises a primary waveguide of graphene-$LiNbO_3$-graphene, and a secondary cycle branch waveguide is etched on the surface of $LiNbO_3$. Part of the incident light in the primary waveguide enters the secondary waveguide, thus leading to a phase difference with the primary waveguide as reflected at the end of the branch and interaction coupling to enhance output light intensity. Through feature analysis, we discover that the area of the secondary waveguide shows significant localized fields and SPPs. Moreover, the cycle branch graphene waveguide can realize gain compensation, reduce transmission loss, and increase transmission distance. Numerical simulations show that the minimum effective mode field area is about $0.0130{\lambda}^2$, the gain coefficient is about $700cm^{-1}$, and the quality factor can reach 150. The structure can realize the mode field limits of deep subwavelength and achieve a good comprehensive performance.
In the remote sensing researches, the reflected bright source such as snow, cloud have effects on the image quality of wanted signal. Even though those signal from bright source are adjusted in corresponding pixel level with atmospheric correction algorithm or radiometric correction, those can be problem to the nearby signal as one of the stray light source. Especially, in the step and stare observational method which makes one mosaic image with several snap shots, one of target area can affect next to the other snap shot each other. Presented in this paper focused on the stray light analysis from unwanted reflected bright source for geostationary ocean color sensor. The stray light effect for total 16 slot images each other were performed according to 8 band filters. For the realistic simulation, we constructed system modeling with integrated ray tracing technique which realizes the same space time in the remote sensing observation among the Sun, the Earth, and the satellite. Computed stray light effect in the results of paper demonstrates the distinguishable radiance value at the specific time and space.
