New product development has been a key element fur organizational evolution. The bulk of research about new product strategy has focused solely on new product development function itself. This paper investigates cross-functional elements in new product development. More specifically, we suggest that there must exist a fit between new product strategy and value chain strategy. It means that, in order to support new product development activity, there must exist a relevant value chain strategy. We consider three types of integration - internal integration, customer integration, and supplier integration - as strategic elements of value chain strategy. For the case of new product strategy, we consider market newness and product technology unfamiliarity as strategic elements. We also consider two types of learning characteristic, i.e., \\\"fast-adaptive learning\\\" and \\\"slow-adaptive leaning\\\" as control factor. Learning characteristic represents firms organizational capability related with organizational learning. For example, fur fast-adaptive learning case, the effect of integration appears early in time. System dynamics simulation is employed to verify our research framework. The results exhibit that there must exist cross-functional relationships between value chain strategy and new product strategy in order to shorten total development time.al development time.
The structural equation modeling techniques were used to assess a model of chemistry learning strategy based on self-handicapping tendency and goal orientation. Data were collected during chemistry lessons in two high schools. In the optimal model II-2 of this research, the self-handicapping tendency was negatively related to the use of self-efficacy. The learning goal was positively related to the use of self-efficacy and to learning strategy. The performance- approach goal was positively related to self-efficacy but presented an negative relationship to learning strategy. The performance-avoidance goal was negatively related to self-efficacy but presented an positive relationship to learning strategy. Besides affecting the learning strategy through self-efficacy indirectly, the learning goal, performance-approach goal, and performance-avoidance goal affected learning strategy directly. The self-handicapping tendency and performance- avoidance goal were a negative predictors of self-efficacy, but the learning goal and performance-approach goal were a positive predictors. And the self-efficacy affected learning strategy positively. The implications of these findings for learning strategy in chemistry are discussed. Although the paths model of relationships of the motivations to learn and learning strategies in chemistry education as mentioned above is established, the more systematic search for the higher self-efficacy and learning strategy in different courses and curriculums may be needed.

In this paper, a new competition strategy for learning vector quantization is proposed. The simple competitive strategy used for learning vector quantization moves the winning prototype which is the closest to the newly given data pattern. We propose a new learning strategy based on k-nearest neighbor prototypes as the winning prototypes. The selection of several prototypes as the winning prototypes guarantees that the updating process occurs more frequently. The design is illustrated with the aid of numeric examples that provide a detailed insight into the performance of the proposed learning strategy.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of flipped learning strategy, which is an online offline convergence learning strategy becoming a hot issue, on students' learning styles..Ultimately, the goal is to analyze the academic achievements and learning attitudes by applying the flipped learning strategy considering the preferred learning styles of Korean students. By assuming that Korean students are accustomed to traditional lecture class, it is assumed that the students would have difficulty in applying the flipped learning strategy which involves information gathering and problem solving through discussion. In order to analyze whether the application of flipped learning strategy is effective, it is necessary to identify students' preferred learning style and to develop appropriate teaching strategies accordingly.
This study investigated how general blended learning strategies and flipped-learning instructional strategy affect college students' social presence and group cohesion. The main results of this study were summarized as follows. First, the group of flipped-learning instructional strategy was more effective in college students' social presence than general blended learning. Second, it was found that groups using flipped-learning instruction strategy had more positive effects on improving group cohesion among college students than those using the general blended learning instructional strategy. The results of this study can influence the identification and verification of the main components to be considered when using flipped-learning instruction strategy in blended learning environment. The results of this study can influence the identification and verification of the main components to be considered when using flipped-learning instruction strategy in blended learning environment.
This study intended to find out an efficient teaching-learning method by identifying the effect of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning strategy on the level of learning achievement in class. This study analyzed the relationship between the achievement goal directivity and the average and standard deviation of self-regulated learning strategy as well as the relationship between the achievement goal directivity and the learning achievement of self-regulated learning strategy and also analyzed the effect of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning strategy on the level of learning achievement, based on the result of survey targeting 133 university students attending the Department of Social Welfare. The findings show that the higher the tendency of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning ability, the higher the academic performance, which means that it is necessary to resolve any anxiety through motivation control training and mentoring learning for academic achievement of students and inducing their proactive participation in class.
Objectives : The objective of this study is to analyze about learning styles and self-regulated learning strategies of dental hygiene students and to find methods that may increase learning outcomes by selecting effective learning methods. Methods : The subjects of this study are 524 dental hygiene students in region of chonbuk from May, 2012 to June, 2012. collected informations are analyzed with SPSS. Results : 1. 38.1%, assimilator is most of learning styles of dental hygiene students, followed by 29.7%, converger, 16.2%, diverger, 15.8%, accommodator. 2. 28.0%, converger and diverger are most of subjects whose grade score is between 2.0-2.9, 41.50%, accommodator is most of 3.0-3.4, and 41.61% accommodator is most of 3.5-3.9, and 28.0%, converger is most of subjects whose grade score is more than 4.0. this results has statistically signification(p<0.01). 3. $8.71{\pm}1.78$, assimilation strategy is most self-regulated learning strategies of dental hygiene students, followed by $8.26{\pm}1.94$, control strategy, $7.52{\pm}2.00$, memorization strategy. accommodator is most showed $7.82{\pm}2.24$, $9.13{\pm}1.74$, $8.71{\pm}2.20$ in memorization strategy, assimilation strategy, control strategy. 4. It is showed that assimilator is significantly related with satisfaction for major(p<0.01), accommodator is significantly related with academic records(p<0.05), and diverger is significantly negative related with academic records, through the results of the analysis of factors that affects learning styles. Conclusions : Organizing above results, It is considered that instructor needs to acknowledge learning styles of students through understanding about various learning styles of students, and may has to develop suitable teaching method for students based on that.
The purpose of this study was to develop and apply the project-based learning strategy in blended learning environment to raise and enhance scientific thinking skill, creativity, and problem solving skills to students who would be teachers of an elementary school in the future. This study was conducted as an action research based on an educational university. The study included 25 participants in a class. Data were collected through observation, surveys, interview and students' artifacts. Results indicated the project-based learning strategy in blended learning environment allowed students to raise problem solving skill, critical thinking skill, and creativity. Finally implications of this study, obstacles to conduct this study, and recommendations to implement this strategy more effectively and efficiently were presented.
Korean cyber universities now provide higher education service to learners but the courses suffer major limitations of low quality and inefficient format of their learning contents. Because of the absence of any standard authoring strategy for learning contents, tutors develop their own courseware with various formats and content structures. In addition, the lack of association between content learners causes them difficulties in finding and reusing related contents. In this paper, we propose an authoring strategy foradvanced learning contents based on SCORM and ontology. Our strategy improvesthe reusability and associativity of learning contents. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed authoring strategy through developing learning contents such as understanding of digital contents.
The collaborative learning has been considered as an efficient teaching model and under the recent basic learning environment, even face-to-face classroom circumstance rapidly increases the courses of blended learning which utilize the merits of e-learning environment. Nonetheless, the study on the strategy for systematic blended learning is quite scarce. In this study, the survey was done for developing the blended learning strategy, based on the collaborative learning model at the face-to-face environment and judging the satisfaction on the courses which the model was applied to. The survey consists of demographic questions, satisfaction in the whole courses, satisfaction in the collaborative learning under the blended learning environment and satisfaction in the blended learning strategy and support tools applied to each step of the learning. The result of this study is as follows. First, in response to the question that the blended learning can complement the face-to-face classroom courses, the respondents represented average 4.09 at 5-point Likert scale. And to the question whether the collaborative learning is more efficient under the blended learning environment than the face-to-face classroom, the response corresponds to 4.06 scale on the average. Second, as for the satisfaction in the blended learning strategy and support tools applied to the each step of the blended learning, the satisfaction degree is analyzed as high as over 4.0 on the average toward all the questions. Third, regarding the support tools used for the blended learning strategy, the learners consider the tools as most helpful in order of chatting, team community, mail & note and archive. Lastly, I would like to suggest that the study result should be highly reflected in constructing the collaborative learning module of learning control system in the future.
