  • The COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant community challenges towards higher education around the world. The urgent and unexpected request for full-time university courses to switch over to online teaching was a particular challenge. Online learning and learning imply a certain pedagogical knowledge content (PKC), mainly related to the design and organization for better learning and the creation of unique learning environments using digital technologies. With the help of the present academic paper, we provide some expert opinion on the PKC connected with online learning with the aim of helping non-university professionals (that is, those with lack of online learning experience) navigate these challenging times. Our findings point to the planning of learning activities with certain features, a combination of three types of presence (social, cognitive and facilitative) and the need to adapt the assessment system to new learning requirements. We will conclude by contemplating on how responding to a crisis can improve teaching and learning practices in the post-digital era.

  • The purpose of this study supports the establishment of national e-learning policy by analyzing e-learning status and current status of higher education. Enhance the competitiveness of higher education through sharing information between universities. And to improve e-learning quality management. We surveyed the current status of e-learning in 341 universities and questionnaires about e-learning content, e-learning application form, e-learning platform status was surveyed through each school's learning management system. As a result, the infrastructure of e-learning, the rate of platforms secured, and the contents are increasing gradually each year; however, still, not all students can receive the services equally. Dedicated servers and learning management systems were secured by more than 70% of general universities. In the current development status of e-learning content, multimedia, animation, and text forms are gradually decreasing, but video contents are increasing every year. Most of the online contents were used in the e-learning contents by application type, and blended learning, flipped learning, and mooc is not yet actively used since they are still in the beginning stage. Learning analysis techniques should be supported in order to easily use online learning contents such as flipped learning and mooc. We suggest that the effectiveness of e-learning should be measured and the current state of learning analysis for customized learning should be done. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness of higher education by sharing information about e-learning among universities as a basis for improvement of e-learning policy. Future tasks are to improve the customized learning environment by adding whether the system environment for learning analysis is provided at the time of the survey.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the next curriculum revision, as well as to foster improvements to the quality of the Korean elementary school math classes by analyzing and comparing the Korean 2015 revised curriculum with the current Japanese curriculum of math. To accomplish this purpose, the research questions were set as follows. 1. What are the directions for revising Korean 2015 revised curriculum and the Japanese curriculum for elementary school mathematics? 2. What is the difference between the elements of learning content offered in the respective Korean and Japanese curriculums for elementary school mathematics? The conclusions of this study are as follows. Firstly, although Korea and Japan share common core statistical education objectives, they approach their goals with different methods. Korea focuses on academic competency, while Japan focuses on fostering the "power to live". For the learning process, Korea emphasized process-focused evaluation, while Japan emphasized fostering mathematical thought and thinking through mathematical activities. For class improvement, Korea focused on reducing the learning burden through appropriating the amount of learning by shifting or removing some elements of the learning content. Japan, on the other hand, refocused their attention on improving active learning within the classroom, and also increased the hours of math class within their curriculum. Secondly, there was a difference in the content composition of the curriculums of Korea and Japan. By comparing the elements of learning content, I got the conclusions for the next curriculum revision in Korea.

  • Mobile learning, which provides educational services with a mobile platform, has been greatly expanding with the increasing spread of digital devices. The transition from PC-based online education to mobile-based education enables users to access online education anytime and anywhere. Despite this expansion of mobile learning, there is a lack of user-oriented content design. Therefore, this study intends to derive a measure to evaluate usefulness of the content design. We conducted a literature survey to reflect characteristics of existing measures, which evaluate usefulness and content of mobile learning. As educational mobile applications have both educational service and mobile device features, they can be representative of pedagogical usability criterion and can be divided into system and content areas to further develop effectiveness of learning. We conducted questionnaires on the use of these applications on 15 experts using the del phi technique. The analysis suggests the ease of use, learning efficiency, aesthetics, and ease of learning to be criteria of pedagogical usability. This study expects to serve as a basis to improve the usability of mobile learning users.
