  • Intramolecular association is an important contribution to the overall hydrogen bonding in supercritical fluid systems, especially in systems of colloidal and biological interest. Amphiphile systems, especially micelle and microemulsion systems, showed highly non-ideal behavior due to the intermolecular association and intramolecular association. The objective of this research is to present a lattice fluid equation of state that combines the quasi-chemical nonrandom lattice fluid model with modified Veytsman statistics for intra + inter molecular association to calculate phase behavior for mixture containing surfactant systems. The present EOS could correlate the literature data well for mixtures containing nonionic surfactant systems.

  • We introduce the notions of nilpotent element, quasi-regular element in a semiring which is a distributive lattice of rings. The concept of Jacobson radical is introduced for this kind of semirings.

  • An ideal of a commutative ring is called a d-ideal if it contains the annihilator of the annihilator of each of its elements. Denote by DId(A) the lattice of d-ideals of a ring A. We prove that, as in the case of f-rings, DId(A) is an algebraic frame. Call a ring homomorphism "compatible" if it maps equally annihilated elements in its domain to equally annihilated elements in the codomain. Denote by $SdRng_c$ the category whose objects are rings in which the sum of two d-ideals is a d-ideal, and whose morphisms are compatible ring homomorphisms. We show that $DId:\;SdRng_c{\rightarrow}CohFrm$ is a functor (CohFrm is the category of coherent frames with coherent maps), and we construct a natural transformation $RId{\rightarrow}DId$, in a most natural way, where RId is the functor that sends a ring to its frame of radical ideals. We prove that a ring A is a Baer ring if and only if it belongs to the category $SdRng_c$ and DId(A) is isomorphic to the frame of ideals of the Boolean algebra of idempotents of A. We end by showing that the category $SdRng_c$ has finite products.

  • Let $\mathcal{H}$ be an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space with a fixed orthonormal base $\{e_1,e_2,{\cdots}\}$. Let $\mathcal{L}$ be the subspace lattice generated by the subspaces $\{[e_1],[e_1,e_2],[e_1,e_2,e_3],{\cdots}\}$ and let $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$ be the algebra of bounded operators which leave invariant all projections in $\mathcal{L}$. Let p and q be natural numbers($p{\leqslant}q$). Let $\mathcal{B}_{p,q}=\{T{\in}Alg\mathcal{L}{\mid}T_{(p,q)}=0\}$. Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a linear manifold in $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$ such that $\{0\}{\varsubsetneq}{\mathcal{A}}{\subset}{\mathcal{B}}_{p,q}$. If $\mathcal{A}$ is an ideal in $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$, then $T_{(i,j)}=0$, $p{\leqslant}i{\leqslant}q$ and $i{\leqslant}j{\leqslant}q$ for all T in $\mathcal{A}$.

  • In this paper, we introduce CoMP in 3GPP LTE-Advanced Release 11 to take care of shadowing effects appearing in cell-edge areas to meet rapidly increasing demand for high speed transmission and multi-media data. In order to mitigate interference, orthogonalizing is ideal but it is slightly difficult to be applied to real systems. Therefore, interference alignment and avoidance are used in practical applications. Interference alignment is a scheme enabling us to consider interference our friend not enemy. We show lattice codes in Gaussian channel achieve Shannon capacity where strong interference exists. In addition, we show the relationship between channel parameter a and DoF(Degree of Freedom) applying lattice codes to interference alignment for interference channel with three users.

  • A Counter-rotating wind turbine is one of the new concepts that are proposed to increase the performance of a wind turbine. It has two rotors rotating in the same axis, and it is known that its power coefficient can reach to 0.64 in the ideal case. While the BEMT is widely used to analyze the aerodynamic performance of wind turbines, the analysis of the counter-rotating wind turbine by using it is limited due to the aerodynamic interaction between the two rotors. In this study, the vortex lattice method is used to consider the effect of the front rotor on the rear rotor of the counter-rotating wind turbine and calculate the aerodynamic performance of it. The power and thrust sharing in the two rotors of the counter-rotating wind turbine are predicted and the total power and thrust are compared with that of a single rotor. Moreover, the wake convection and expansion rate is also compared with that of a single rotor.

  • Compared to the classical cryptography, lattice-based cryptography is more secure, flexible and simple, and it is believed to be secure against quantum computers. In this paper, an efficient signature scheme is proposed from the ring learning with errors (R-LWE), which avoids sampling from discrete Gaussians and has the characteristics of the much simpler description etc. Then, the scheme is implemented in C/C++ and makes a comparison with the RSA signature scheme in detail. Additionally, a linearly homomorphic signature scheme without trapdoor is proposed from the R-LWE assumption. The security of the above two schemes are reducible to the worst-case hardness of shortest vectors on ideal lattices. The security analyses indicate the proposed schemes are unforgeable under chosen message attack model, and the efficiency analyses also show that the above schemes are much more efficient than other correlative signature schemes.

  • As an alternative numerical method, the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is used to simulate a 2-dimensional pressure driven microchannel flow which comes from frequently in MEMS problems. The flow is assumed to be isothermal ideal gas flow. The flow field is calculated with various Knudsen numbers, pressure ratios and aspect ratios of the microchannel. The LBM can show the fundamental characteristics in microchannel flow such as velocity slip and nonlinear pressure drop.
