RECENT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPING TREND OF ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT IN CHINA BASED ON TEXT MINING

  • With the rapid development of China economy, many engineering projects with large scale and investment were constructed in China and some were the biggest ones in the world. With the development of engineering practice, great progress in the research of engineering management of China was made and a large number of research findings were embodied in content of research papers and were represented by technical words. To know the state of arts in the research field of engineering management in China, three major parts, namely title, abstract and keywords of research papers in last five years from three representative Chinese journals about engineering management were chose as research materials. Unlike western languages, there are no delimiters between the words of Chinese, so the maximum matching and frequency statistics (MMFS) method, a text segmentation technique of text mining Chinese, was presented to extract the features consisting of technical words, phrases and words from the research materials. Recent research and developing trend of engineering management in China were found by comparing and analyzing the difference of technical words in the research materials of last five years.

  • Furnace slag powder used currently in Korea needs to add special functions in response to the increase of large-scale projects. In addition, it is advantageous in that it has a lower hydration heat emission rate than ordinary Portland cement and improves properties such as the inhibition of alkali aggregate reaction, watertightness, salt proofness, seawater resistance and chemical resistance. However, furnace slag powder is not self -hardening, and requires activators such as alkali for hydration. Accordingly, if recycled fine aggregate, from which calcium hydroxide is generated, and furnace slag, which requires alkali stimulation, are used together they play mutually complementary roles, so we expect to use the mixture as a resource-recycling construction material. Thus the present study purposed to examine the properties and characteristics of furnace slag powder and recycled aggregate, to manufacture recycled fine aggregate concrete using furnace slag and analyze its performance based on the results of an experiment, to provide materials on concrete using furnace slag as a cement additive and recycled fine aggregate as a substitute of aggregate, and ultimately to provide basic materials on the manufacturing of resource-recycled construction materials using binder and fine aggregate as recycled resources.

  • 건설공사의 품질을 확보하고 예산의 절감을 도모하는 등 건설 프로젝트의 성공 여부를 판단하기 위해서는 객관적인 평가지표와 그에 대한 투명성 확보가 필요하다. 건설부문을 포함한 공공사업의 경우 대규모 예산투입이 이루어지고 있지만 그 결과물로 인한 편익을 산정하기 어려울 경우가 많아 공공사업의 효율성과 효용성이 떨어진다고 인식되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 500억 원 이상의 공공공사 중 사후평가를 실시하는 시설물에 대한 소비자 만족도를 정량화하는 것을 범위로 하여, 공공공사 사후평가 시 체계적이고 정량적인 측정이 가능할 수 있도록 주민 호응도와 사용자 만족도 항목을 중심으로 하는 사후평가 측정기준을 제안하고자 한다.

수산보조금 금지 시대의 유류 공급 정책에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Effectiveness of the Oil Supply Policy for Korean Fisheries Industry in the Era of Subsidy Prohibition)

  • In the fisheries industry, the cost of oil Is the greatest factor, contributing 25% 40% of the cost of production. In order to support fisheries, the government has supplied large amounts of money for oil to the fisheries industry. However, the elimination and restriction against the subsidy of fisheries has been actively discussed throughout international organizations Including the WTO. The purpose of this thesis is to study the existing issue of subsidies on the fisheries Industry, which is currently disputed in international organizations, and predict a future policy about the oil supply that considers the most important factors on fisheries. In chapter 2, the paper begins by outlining the tendencies of discussion in relation to the subsidy on fisheries among international organizations, and categorizes them on the basis of their types. Chapter 3 defines the current conditions and characteristics of the Korean subsidy on fisheries and analyzes which portions of the subsidy on fisheries should be eliminated first when it is prohibited. In chapter 4, procedures and problems for producing tax-free oil are discussed, because tax-free oil has a higher possibility of being ruled out. Chapter 5 proposes a reasonable plan concerning oil supply policies for maintenance or enrichment of the fishing industries, post the elimination of subsidies. Conclusions were drawn in eight areas as a result of this study: 1) securing the large storage of oil, 2) extending customers of oil to include non-fishermen, 3) coordinating the segmentation of marketing area, 4) diversification of the sales goods, 5) producing oil sales experts, 6) developing original brands, 7) expanding the purchasing area to buy oil in the international market, and 8) operating funds to stabilize oil price. It would not be appropriate to wait until international organizations decide to ban the subsidy of fisheries. Corresponding plans ( such as securing the large storage of oil) tend to be large scale and long-term projects because they take a number of years, from designing the oil storage tank to selecting the proper region and initiating the construction. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that any extensive and time consuming projects including preparation for the tax-free oil should be completed in new actions before the ban by the international organizations.

토목시설 지형정보의 4D시스템 구현을 위한 객체속성별 삼각망 구축기술 (Composing Technology of Irregular Triangulate Network by Object Attribute in 4D System for Civil Engineering Project)

  • 건축시설물의 4D구현과 달리 선형적인 토목시설물의 4D구현시에는 자연지형의 표현을 위한 삼각망 구현기술이 필수적으로 요구된다. 즉, 건축시설물의 4D구현시 3D객체들은 모두 자연적 지형조건과 관계없는 인공적 부재들로 구성되므로 객체속성의 구성이 비교적 용이하다. 반면에 토목시설물은 대부분의 공사에 토공사(Earthwork)가 상당부분을 차지하고 있고, 절성토, 굴착공 등의 토공작업은 인공적 부재가 아닌 자연적 지형으로 구성되어 있으므로 독립적인 3D객체 구성이 용이하지 않다. 4D구현을 위해서는 이러한 토공 작업들 역시 개별 작업 (Activity)별로 정해진 일정에 따라 완성상태를 시뮬레이션 해야한다. 이러한 부분을 해결하기 위해서는 자연지형 정보의 3D객체 간편화 기술이 요구되며, 또한 자연지형의 3D객체화를 위해서는 삼각망구축 기술이 필요하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 선형적으로 공사가 진행되는 도로, 철도 등의 토목시설물 공사에서 토공 작업의 4D구현에 요구되는 토공 3D객체 구성을 삼각망 자동구축 방법으로 해결하고 있다. 연구에서는 기존의 삼각망구축방법을 개선한 레이어 속성별 삼각망이 자동 구성되는 방법론을 제안하며, 제안 방법은 4D시스템과의 연계 모듈로 구성하였다.

갈등의 공간적 구성: 동남권 신공항을 둘러싼 스케일의 정치 (The Spatial Construction of Conflicts : The Politics of Scales in the Conflicts over "Southeastern New International Airport" in Korea)

  • 국책사업의 하나로 추진되는 대규모 공공시설을 둘러싼 갈등은 우리나라가 겪는 많은 갈등에서 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 공공시설의 건설로 인한 환경파괴와 지역공동체의 해체 등에 대한 부정적인 인식이 증가하였고, 일자리와 기업의 투자를 기대할 수 있는 사업의 경우 지역 간 경쟁이 심화되었다. 이러한 이유로 지역 간 경쟁과 갈등은 기존 연구에서 자주 다루어져 왔다. 이를테면, 갈등을 최소화할 수 있는 행정적 절차 및 거버넌스, 이슈를 만들어내는 언론의 역할 등에 대한 다수의 연구가 존재한다. 본 연구는 갈등이 구성되는 공간적 방식을 분석한다. 동남권 신공항을 둘러싼 갈등의 공간적 스케일을 분석한 결과, 실제 신공항 입지에 따른 이익과 손해의 공간적 범역과 갈등의 주체가 되는 공간적 단위는 상이하였다. 또한, 사업의 진행 과정에서 갈등의 주체들은 이합집산을 통해 자신들의 이해관계를 관철시킬 수 있는 공간적 단위를 구성해가는 다양한 스케일의 정치를 보여주고 있다. 이는 지역개발을 둘러싼 갈등은 단순히 지역개발이라는 정책의 집행과 실천의 필연적 부산물이 아닌 지역정치의 역동성과 결합하는 과정으로 바라볼 필요가 있음을 보여준다.

대형 댐의 지진응답특성평가를 위한 원심모형시험 기법 연구 (A Study on Geotechnical Centrifuge Testing Method for Seismic Performance Evaluation of Large Embankment Dams)

  • Damages of large embankment dams by recent strong earthquakes in the world highlight the importance of seismic security of dams. Some of recent dam construction projects for water storage and hydropower are located in highly seismic zone, hence the seismic performance evaluation is an important issue. While state-of-the-art numerical analysis technology is generally utilized in practice for seismic performance evaluation of large dams, physical modeling is also carried out where new construction technology is involved or numerical analysis technology cannot simulate the behavior appropriately. Geotechnical centrifuge modeling is widely adopted in earthquake engineering to simulate the seismic behavior of large earth structures, but sometimes it can't be applied for large embankment dams due to various limitations. This study proposes a dynamic centrifuge testing method for large embankment dams and evaluated its applicability. Scaling relations for a case which model scale and g-level are different could be derived considering the stress conditions and predominant period of the structure, which is equivalent to previously suggested scaling relations. The scaling principles and testing method could be verified by modified modeling of models using a model at different acceleration levels. Finally, its applicability was examined by centrifuge tests for an embankment dam in Korea.

Automatic Panelizing Algorithms of Free-form Buildings

  • New technologies using a CNC machine are being developed to reduce the production cost of free-form buildings. For production of free-form members using such technologies, vast free-form buildings should be first split into multiple panels that are productible. Taking into consideration of the curved surface of free-form members, the segmented free-form panels may vary in shape and size, which may cause a lot of errors. In addition, it is time-consuming for the work. However, the current panelizing work is completed with the trials and errors of engineers and architectural designers even in large-scale projects, which results in increased construction duration and cost. Thus, it is necessary to develop a technology for panelizing free-form panels so as to maximize the economic feasibility of production technologies for free-form concrete members. The study intends to develeop automatic panelizing algorithms of free-form buildings considering the curved surface and size of free-form panels and the production conditions. The developed algorithms will be useful in applying the production technologies of free-form buildings using CNC machine and reducing the cost.

BASINS/HSPF 및 WASP5를 이용한 화옹유역과 담수호의 적용성 검토 (The evaluation of BASINS/HSPF and WASP5 model in Hwaong watershed and reservoir)

  • Large scale projects of sea-land reclamation have been practiced mainly to enlarge farmland in Korea. Most projects produced estuarine reservoir with dike construction, which might result in water quality problems due to block of natural flowing of stream water to the sea. Applicability of a widely accepted watershed-based water quality assessment tool (BASINS) and its associated watershed model was evaluated on the Hwaong watershed in Korea. BASINS was found to be a convenient and powerful tool for assessment of watershed characteristics, and provided various tools to delineate the watershed into land segments and river reaches, reclassify land use, and parameterize for HSPF simulation. WASP5 is a general purpose modeling system for assessing the fate and transport of conventional and toxic pollutants in surface water bodies. This study involved selection and linkage of available models to be used as a tool in evaluating the effects of BMPs for control on reservoir water quality. Overall,.Linkage of BASINS/HSPF and WASP5 was applicable and found to be a powerful tool in pollutant loading estimation from the watershed and reservoir, and its use is recommended.

준설매립지반의 선행압밀하중 산정 (Estimating Maximum Past Pressures for Dredged and Reclaimed Ground)

  • 준설매립지반에서의 압밀침하는 종종 구조물에 큰 피해를 끼친다. 최근 국내에서는 대규모 프로젝트들이 대심도 연약지반 상에 계획 또는 진행 중에 있다. 따라서, 준설매립지반에 대한 압밀특성의 평가는 설계와 시공에 있어서 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는, 광양항 인근 지역에서 채취한 시료를 이용, 준설매립지반의 압밀특성을 평가하기 위하여 압밀시험을 실시하였으며, 선행압밀하중은 기존에 제안된 8가지 방법들을 이용하여 산정하였다. 이중에서, 준설매립지반의 선행압밀하중 산정시, Becker(1987), Silva(1970), Sridharan(1991) 방법의 적용성이 뛰어난 것으로 평가되었다.
