An Application of Generic Algorithms to the Distribution System Loss Minimization Re -cofiguration Problem (배전손실 최소화 문제에 있어서 유전알고리즘의 수속특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a new method which applies a genetic algorithm(GA) for determining which sectionalizing switch to operate in order to solve the distribution system loss minimization re-configuration problem. The distribution system loss minimization re-configuration problem is in essence a 0-1 planning problem which means that for typical system scales the number of combinations requiring searches becomes extremely large. In order to deal with this problem, a new a roach which applies a GA was presented. Briefly, GA are a type of random number search method, however, they incorporate a multi-point search feature. Further, every point is not is not separately and respectively renewed, therefore, if parallel processing is applied, we can expect a fast solution algorithm to result.

  • This study deals with a type of vehicle routing problem faced by manager of some department stores during peak sales periods. The problem is to find a set of traveling paths of vehicles that leave a department store and arrive at a destination specified for each vehicle after visiting customers without violating time and capacity constraints. The mathematical model is formulated with the objective of maximizing the sum of the rewards collected by each vehicle. Since the problem is known to be NP-hard, a heuristic algorithm is developed to find the solution. The performance of the algorithm is compared with the optimum solutions obtained from CPLEX for small size problems and a priority-based Genetic Algorithm for large size problems.

  • Generally, It was used to use a unit of a Large regularity in developing Large Capacity Converter System of the electric power. Lager a capacity of a unit of regularity, more expensive cost of it. So, normally, We overcome the limit of a proper form of an electricity semiconductor which be used in application field of Large capacity electricity conversion system through the Composition of Multi-level Circuit or Dual-Mode or parallel switch. but some problem is discussed. Using parallel RC-diode circuit instead of Large Capacity diode, We implemented a circuit that it overcome the limit of a regularity with dealing current distributed by parallel RC-diode circuit.

Preprocessing in large scale linear programming problems (대형선형계획문제의 사전처리)

  • Generally MPS, standardized by IBM, is the input type of large scale linear programming problems, and there may be unnecessary variables or constraints. These can be discarded by preprocessing. As the size of a problem is reduced by preprocessing, the running time is reduced. And more, the infeasibility of a problem may be detected before using solution methods. When the preprocessing implemented by this paper is used in NETLIB problems, it removes unnecessary variables and constraints by 21%, 15%, respectively. The use of preprocessing gives in the average 21% reduction in running time by applying the interior point method. Preprocessing can detect 10 out of 30 infeasible NETLIB problems.

  • One of important problem, in large space structure, is to overcome the self-weight of roof structure. This problem can be solved with using tension members effectively. Thus the rapid progress of hybrid structure, that makes effective use of the means of settling, has a good effect on realizing the large space. These systems of hybrid structure have the advantages of light weight and its own internal redundancy, but are occurred unstable phenomenon such as bifurcation or snap-through buckling, when the load level is come to the critical point. Among the hybrid structure, cable dome is shown the strong nonlinearity of unstable phenomenon in accordance with the external force. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze and verify comparatively the unstable phenomenon of the Geiger and Flower type cable dome structures under axismmetric load.

  • This paper present an efficient methodology to solve the unit commitment problem for large scaled power system which involves various type of generation. We introduce the global optimization approach to coordinate the thermal type, hydro type and pumped storage type generation. To overcome the shortcomings in dynamic programming for thermal unit commitment, an improved heurisitic method using lambda(λ) was proposed, Hydro and pumped type allocation was Solved by analytical approach using λ which exculde undisirable iteration for satisfying the energy usage constraints. The case studies for proposed algorithm are proven by sample system and KEPCO practical system, which produced very resonable both computing requirements and convergency.

  • The Boneh, Goh, and Nissim (BGN) cryptosytem is the first homomorphic encryption scheme that allows additions and multiplications of plaintexts on encrypted data. BGN-type cryptosystems permit very small plaintext sizes. The best-known approach for the expansion of a message size by t times is one that requires t implementations of an initial scheme; however, such an approach becomes impractical when t is large. In this paper, we present a method of message expansion of BGN-type homomorphic encryption using composite product pairing, which is practical for relatively large t. In addition, we prove that the indistinguishability under chosen plaintext attack security of our construction relies on the decisional Diffie-Hellman assumption for all subgroups of prime order of the underlying composite pairing group.

  • In order to keep production balance at a mixed-model assembly line and a painting line, large WIP(Work- In-Process) inventories are required between two lines. To increase the efficiency of line handling through reducing the inventories under this circumstance, this paper concerns with a sequencing problem for a mixed-model assembly line that includes a painting line where the uncertain elements regarding the defective products exist. Then, we formulate a new type of the sequencing problem minimizing the line stoppage time and the idle time with forecasting the supply time of the products from the painting line. Finally, we examine the effectiveness of the proposed sequencing through computer simulations.

  • Deployment of green transportation in reverse logistics is a key issue for low carbon technologies. To cope with such logistic innovation, this paper proposes a hybrid approach to solve practical vehicle routing problem (VRP) of pickup type that is common when considering the reverse logistics. Noticing that transportation cost depends not only on distance traveled but also on weight loaded, we propose a hierarchical procedure that can design an economically efficient reverse logistics network even when the scale of the problem becomes very large. Since environmental concerns are of growing importance in the reverse logistics field, we need to reveal some prospects that can reduce $CO_2$ emissions from the economically optimized VRP in the same framework. In order to cope with manifold circumstances, the above idea has been deployed by extending the Weber model to the generalized Weber model and to the case with an intermediate destination. Numerical experiments are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach and to explore the prospects for future green reverse logistics.

  • A modified Michelson interferometer type digital holography microscopy system is developed. There is a problem about recording and numerical reconstruction area at the microscopy application of Michelson type interferometer structure in the digital holography field. In this paper, to overcome this problem, we developed a new reflection type digital holography microscope system and increased recording and numerical reconstruction area of target object.
