An Efficient Lane Detection Based on the Optimized Hough Transform (최적화된 Hough 변환에 근거한 효율적인 차선 인식)

  • In this paper, we propose OHT(optimized nough Transform) algorithm for the lane extraction. Input image is changed into 256 gray revel image. Gray level image is separated into background region and road region by using limited horizontal projection value. In separated road area, we apply OHT algorithm. OHT algorithm is characterized as follows. First, the number of candidate pixels is reduced using the outline orientation of the lane. Second, each range of the left and right lane is defined by limited ${\theta}$ Experimental results show that the proposed method is better than Hough Transform.

  • A smart factory is a key industrial application introduced by the 4th industrial revolution. The automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is one of the technology realizing smart factory, but the development cost is high due to its early stage of technology. Although developing a low-cost AGV requires a lot of data, it has limited data acquisition capability because of the limited storage and the AGV movement. Hence, we propose a development environment using Bluetooth to collect data and design a lane detector. The proposed lane detector shows a high lane detection ratio regardless of light variation and a shade.

  • Electronic control systems of vehicle are rapidly developed to keep balance of a driver`s safety and the legal, social needs. The driver assistance systems are putted into practical use according to the cost drop in hardware and highly efficient sensor, etc. This study has developed a lane and vehicle detection program using CCD camera. The Risky Driving Analysis Program based on vision systems is developed by combining a risky driving detection algorithm formed in previous study with lane and vehicle detection program suggested in this study. Risky driving detection programs developed in this study with information coming from the vehicle moving data and lane data are useful in efficiently analyzing the cause and effect of risky driving behavior.

Concurrent Detection for Vehicles and Lanes Using Light-Weight Model of Multi-Task CNN (멀티 테스크 CNN의 경량화 모델을 이용한 차량 및 차선의 동시 검출)

  • As deep learning-based autonomous driving technology develops, artificial intelligence models for various purposes have been studied. Based on these studies, several models were used simultaneously to develop autonomous driving systems. It can occur by increasing hardware resource consumption. We propose a multi-tasks model using a shared backbone to solve this problem. This can solve the increase in the number of backbones for using AI models. As a result, in the proposed lightweight model, the model parameters could be reduced by more than 50% compared to the existing model, and the speed could be improved. In addition, each lane can be classified through lane detection using the instance segmentation method. However, further research is needed on the decrease in accuracy compared to the existing model.

Optimal Design Space Exploration of Multi-core Architecture for Real-time Lane Detection Algorithm (실시간 차선인식 알고리즘을 위한 최적의 멀티코어 아키텍처 디자인 공간 탐색)

  • This paper proposes a four-stage algorithm for detecting lanes on a driving car. In the first stage, it extracts region of interests in an image. In the second stage, it employs a median filter to remove noise. In the third stage, a binary algorithm is used to classify two classes of backgrond and foreground of an input image. Finally, an image erosion algorithm is utilized to obtain clear lanes by removing noises and edges remained after the binary process. However, the proposed lane detection algorithm requires high computational time. To address this issue, this paper presents a parallel implementation of a real-time line detection algorithm on a multi-core architecture. In addition, we implement and simulate 8 different processing element (PE) architectures to select an optimal PE architecture for the target application. Experimental results indicate that 40×40 PE architecture show the best performance, energy efficiency and area efficiency.

  • In this paper, the automatic steering system for unmanned vehicle was developed. The vision system is used for the lane detection system. This paper defines two modes for detecting lanes on a road. First is searching mode and the other is recognition mode. We use inverse perspective transform and a linear approximation filter for accurate lane detections. The PD control theory is used for the design of the controller to compare with $H_{\infty}$ control theory. The $H_{\infty}$ control theory is used for the design of the controller to reduce the disturbance. The performance of the PD controller and $H_{\infty}$ controller is compared in simulations and tests. The PD controller is easy to tune in the test site. The $H_{\infty}$ controller is robust for the disturbances in the test results.

  • Automatic driving needs many functions such as the obstacle recognition, the lane recognition, and the lane change, etc. In this paper, we realized a system which automatically drove the three-kinds of vehicle driving course, to introduce and apply the concept of 'color recognition' that expands the scope of 'lane recognition' for vehicle driving. We made the reduced each course compared with RC(Radio Control) car size, and controlled the steering considering the position and the slope of the detection line and the speed. Because the RC car does not have the brake function, we consider the speed and the position of the detection line to stop the RC car.

  • This paper summarizes the implementation of lane recognition using OpenCV, one of the open source computer vision libraries. The Linux operating system Rasbian(r18.03.13) was installed on the ARM processor-based Raspberry Pi 3 board, and Raspberry Pi Camera was used for image processing. In order to realize the lane recognition, Canny Edge Detection and Hough Transform algorithm implemented in OpenCV library was used and RANSAC algorithm was used to prevent shaking of vanishing point and to detect only the desired straight line. In addtion, the DC motor and the Servo motor were controlled so that the vehicle would run according to the detected lane.

  • To process the dynamic images in real time, there could be many constraints on the hardware. Kalman Filter has been used to estimate motion information and use the information in predicting the appearance of targets in succeeding frames. This paper suggests algorithm about lane recognition using Kalman Filter which is one of operations research technique.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속도로 전용차로에서의 운행기준을 위반한 차량을 검지하는 시스템을 제안한다. 다인승 탑승차를 별도의 차로로 통행하도록 하여 혼잡도를 해소하겠다는 정책을 시행하고 있으며, 9인승 이상 차량에 6인 이상 텁숭자를 다인승 통행차량으로 정의하며, 이러한 기준을 만족하지 않는 차량을 자동 검지하는 시스템이다. 트리거 신호 검지기와 4조의 적외선 카메라로 차량 내부 촬영하고 결과 이미지를 분석하여 자동으로 다인승 차량을 판별하여 운행 위반을 검지한다. 테스트 결과 주야간에 관계없이 80% 이상의 우수한 검지율을 나타내었다.
