  • Since the beginning of the 21st century, the power source for the growth of our country is shifting from the 'knowledge and information'-centered business to the culture-based business attaching importance to 'creativity'. In the era of creative culture-based economy, the core resources on which the national competitive power depends can be thought to be 'cultural contents'. The current ubiquitous project, which is being promoted in our country, is characteristically placing much emphasis on building-up of the RFID-centered infrastructure so that it is poorly acknowledged by common people to whom its service is actually provided. In this study, the approach to promotion of the cultural service, to which an easy access is available as a result of combining the ubiquitous-based technology with 'cultural contents', is discussed in the 4 aspects.

  • This is a review of Juchon (舟村) Sinman's (申曼) book "Juchonsinbang (舟村新方)", describing generations of clinical experience in pediatric practice. Written during King Sukjong era in the middle of the Joseon Dynasty, JuchonSinman used symptoms and general disease terminology, including prescription and treatments employed over generations, so the public could easily utilize the information. "Juchonsinbang (舟村新方)" "pediatric (小兒編)" is characterized by a symptom differentiation method of prescribing herbs which allowed the reader to add or subtract various substances according to symptoms based on Tongchibang (通治方). "Juchonsinbang" includes unique prescriptions and new ways to distinguish acute infantile convulsion (急驚風) according to the cause of fright. Although these prescriptions were not completely new, they present an aspect of an empirical book including JuchonSinman's clinical experience based on existing medical theories. "Juchonsinbang" has a medico-historical value in that it was cited in many medical books such a "Danbangsinpyun (單方新編)", "Sujinggyunghumsinbang (袖珍經驗神方)", and "Hanbang medical pediatric book (漢方醫學小兒全科)" in 1910-30.

Thus, convergence education is becoming a trend in many countries. As on-line education is revitalized because of COVID-19, the need for changes to STEAM education is emerging. In December 2019, the on-line education systems quickly settled in schools because of COVID-19. During the first semester of 2020, most school education was conducted as virtual/distance learning classes. It is necessary to analyze how much technology has been used in the STEAM classes in Korea. This paper analyzes the research papers related to the STEAM education in Korea conducted in the last 10 years. By doing this, we analyze what kind of edutechs we were interested in, what kind of STEAM education actually occurred, and to whom it was conducted. The previous research papers analyzed in this paper are the papers in the Korea Citation Index accredited journals and candidate journals. Finally, this paper proposes educational changing factors to be considered for future technology-based STEAM education.

  • The advance of the smart working environment came the expectation that it would innovate and revolutionize the way people work, particularly in a society where smart work is readily available for creating a collaborative and 'connected' business. One of the core infrastructure elements for making smart work a viable option is the smart work center, the promotion of which requires a new form of 'smart work center business model' that can satisfy the purposes of both public services and private businesses. This calls for collaboration between the public and private sectors. Recently a number of businesses have been making significant headway in the creation of a new environment for business support and collaboration by adopting a sharing economy business model in their offices. The so-called 'Coworking Space' is an advanced form of business environment in the emerging 'smart work' era, and comes with the benefits of reduced costs as a result of sharing office space and knowledge sharing through the use of human networks. This paper describes the framework of a 'smart work center business model based on the sharing economy' using a BMC (Business Model Canvas), with an understanding of the characteristics inherent to the smart work center and the sharing economy. It was on the basis of this framework that a smart work center model for business incubation and startup, a private smart work center model for childcare services, and a community marketplace model with a global network were developed.

  • As a result, the areas of knowledge that received the highest score in a positive impact were areas of risk management, while those that received the highest score in a negative impact were items of software management. In addition, each project was rated according to the score obtained. The distribution of grades by project was 71% for projects above middle grade and 29% for projects below middle grade. These results show that interest in BIM technology is increasing compared to the past, actual field application and research are actively being conducted, and that real construction sites also enjoy significant positive effects in terms of project management through BIM. In addition, the company is using BIM by applying advanced digital technologies such as AI technology, laser scanning technology and drone technology in line with the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Such a steady progress in future research on BIM technology development will reduce the number of low-grade projects and many middle-grade projects are expected to be upgraded to higher-level ones.

  • Korea currently provides long-term care benefits for the elderly with poor functionality, but most of the service providers are private businesses. This is the time when quality management of care services is required, which is just around the corner of the super-aged era. In this study, we would like to look at the case in which 'A company', which operates a long-term care institution, attempted to make voluntary changes ahead of social demands. The company tried to transform the social needs of quality management by judging them as opportunities, not threats, and establishing an integrated database of centers. First, the company processed data and built a cloud-based database system. Second, the company automatically linked data from existing systems for the efficiency of data utilization. Third, the company pursued visualization for the convenience of data utilization. This allowed the company to make data-driven strategic decisions internally. This is expected to increase sales as it will soon lead to securing new customers and pioneering new markets. It is also significant in that it can provide best practices for the long-term care industry.
