  • This tutorial introduces procedures and methods for performing structural equation modeling using R. For this, we present the whole process of analyzing the structural equations model from the confirmatory factor analysis to the path diagram generation using the lavaan package, which is relatively well evaluated among the R packages supporting the structural equation modeling, together with the R program codes. Considering that research applying structural equation modeling techniques is the mainstream in a variety of social sciences, including business administration, and that there is growing interest in open source R, this tutorial focuses on researchers who are looking for alternatives to traditional commercial statistical packages and is expected that it will be a useful guidebook for them.

  • With research data generation on the rise, Institutional Repositories (IR) are one of the tools to manage it. However, the variety of data practices across institutions, domains, communities, etc., often requires dedicated studies in order to identify the research data management (RDM) require- ments and mapping them to IR features to support them. In this study, we investigated the data practices for a few national universities in North Macedonia, including 110 participants from different departments. The methodology we adopted to this end enabled us to derive some of the key RDM requirements for a variety of data-related activities. Finally, we mapped these requirements to 6 features that our participants asked for in an IR solution: (1) create (meta)data and documentation, (2) distribute, share, and promote data, (3) provide access control, (4) store, (5) backup, and (6) archive. This list of IR features could prove useful for any university that has not yet established an IR solution.

  • Given the huge number of data produced by its users, SNS is a great source of customer insights. Since viral trends in SNS reflect customers' direct feedback, companies can draw out highly meaningful business insights when such data is effectively analyzed and managed. However, while the importance of understanding SNS big data keeps growing, the methods for analyzing atypical data such as SNS postings for business insights over product has not been well studied. This study aims to demonstrate the way to exploit topic modeling method to support marketing strategy generation and therefore leverage business process. First, we conducted topic modeling analysis for twitter data of Apple and Samsung smartphones. Then we comparatively examined the analysis results to draw meaningful market insights about each smartphone product. Finally, we draw out a strategic marketing recommendation for each smartphone brand based on the findings.

  • In this paper, we introduce the methodology for the automatic generation of the subject field hierarchy for Intellgent Expert Management Framework using WordNet. Intelligent Expert Management Framework, which is proposed as an appropriate method to manage valuable tacit knowledge within the organization, defines the expert profile structure and proposes the efficient method to automate the process to collect and update the expert profile information based on the profile structure defined. To increase the satisfaction level of users, additional intelligent search features are defined and users can be given the list of experts in related or similar expert fields when they perform expert searches based on the expert database being built. To enable automatic profiling of the organizational experts as well as intelligent expert searches, the subject field hierarchy, upon which the expert profiles are classified and expert searches for similar fields are performed, should be predefined. In this paper, we propose the WordNet library method that first eliminates the ambiguity of the senses of nominal data values, constructs the subject field hierarchy by overlapping the hypernym of the remaining senses, and lastly adjusts the derived hierarchy to the preference of users. Based on the proposed methodology, we expect to avoid the prohibitive costs in building large subject field hierarchies when manually done as well as maintain the objectivity of the hierarchies.

  • Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) are widely utilized around the globe from different base forms as it is one of the most dependable renewable resources that technological advancements have offered. However, different perceptions of the usage of NPPs emerged from different generations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the acceptance of nuclear energy as an alternative source of energy among Generation Z in the Philippines by utilizing an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) approach. An online questionnaire which consisted of 31 items was distributed using a purposive sampling approach and 450 respondents of Generation Z voluntarily answered. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) showed that the knowledge regarding NPP had significant effects on risk perception and benefit perception which subsequently led to subjective norms. In addition, perceived behavioral control and subjective norms had significant effects on behavioral intention which led to nuclear acceptance. Interestingly, the respondents perceived the benefit of NPP as slightly higher than the perceived risk. With these, it was clear that the commissioning Nuclear Power Plant must consider as an alternative source of electric energy in the Philippines. Moreover, this study is one of the first studies that investigated the acceptance of NPP among Generation Z. Lastly, the model could be a basis to strengthen the acceptance strategy of opening NPP among Generation Z, particularly in developing countries.

  • Effectiveness of corporate promotion using SNS will be meaningful from theoretical and practical perspectives. This study attempts to explore the implications of running corporate ambassador programs composed of university students, different from previous studies focused mainly on celebrity influencers. To this end, the research model was generated and the hypotheses were tested by the responses of 287 subjects who received promotional messages from university student ambassadors of a public corporation. Research findings confirmed that ambassador characteristics (intimacy, expertise) had a significant influence on corporate promotion by mediating SNS information characteristics (information provision, information playfulness, and information reliability). Furthermore, it is found that MZ generation perceived the higher intimacy, the higher information playfulness, while the older generation perceived the higher expertise, the higher information reliability. In order to generalize these research findings, further research considering more diverse demographic characteristics is necessary.

  • This study investigates cognitive and emotional changes in individuals to clarify the principle between artistic stimulation and business innovation idea generation based on phenomenological research methodology. We conducted in-depth interviews with six participants who participated in the artistic creation program of business art, and derived meanings from their experience. As a result, we presented 4 essential categories, 8 main subjects, and 20 sub-subjects; 1) Optimizing rational and creative thinking, 2) Projecting oneself to the artist, finding balance, 3) Having room in mind to view the surroundings, finding insight into the world, 4) Eureka moment, crossing the boundary between business and art. We also found out participants of the program 1) Gradually expanded the criteria, 2) In chaotic directions, and 3) Leaded business creativity through from a non-form to reality throughout the project experience, The attempt to identify business phenomena by using phenomenological qualitative research methods had an academic significance regarding the unfamiliarity of the method in the business administration area. Moreover, this study broadened the possibility of promoting creativity by art in business areas. The study verified the categories and subjects of the business art, paving the way towards application in the real business situation.

  • Nowadays, it is convenient to use 3D modeling tools for general planning before construction. Normally, a 3D model is built with 3D CAD such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, etc. or simply with AutoCAD. All these software packages are effective in building 3D models but difficult to use, because many provided functions and tools require prior knowledge to build both 2D and 3D designs. Moreover, the traditional method of building 3D models is most time-consuming as experienced operators and manual input are required. Therefore, how to minimize the building time of 3D models and provide easy-to-use functions for users who are not familiar with 3D modeling becomes important. In this paper, the VisualLISP programming language is used to create a convenient tool for efficient generation of 3D components for the AutoCAD environment. This tool will be demonstrated with the generation of a 3D sluice, an artificial passage for water fitted with a valve or gate to stop or regulate water flow. With the tool, users only need to enter the parameters of a sluice in the edit box and the 3D model will be automatically generated in a few seconds. By changing parameters in the edit box and pressing the "OK" button, a new 3D sluice model will be generated in a short while.

  • With the spread of COVID-19 and the preference for untact services, kiosks, which is one of self-service technologies, have been expanding into various service fields. Kiosks have some advantages of reducing labor costs and increasing work efficiency, but they often cause difficulties in the process of using kiosks. In this vein, this study examines the key antecedents affecting consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks by integrating technology anxiety and innovativeness into the expanded expectation-confirmation model. The research model was verified for the MZ generation to examine the perceptions of MZ generation about Kiosks. This is because if the MZ generation feels technical anxiety or difficualty about using kiosks, customers of other generations can expect to feel even more uncomfortable. As a result of the analysis of this study, it was confirmed that technical anxiety has a significantly negative effect on consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks. However, among the characteristic factors of customers, innovativeness did not significantly consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks. Based on our findings, it is expected that service companies will be able to understand the mechanism of forming consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks and pursuit several management activities for successfully adopting kiosks.
