  • Recently, knowledge management has been required in companies as a tool of competitiveness. Companies have constructed Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) system in order to manage huge knowledge. But, it is not easy to formalize knowledge in organization. We focused on data mining system by genetic programming(GP). Data mining system by genetic programming can be useful tools to derive and extract the necessary information and knowledge from the huge accumulated data. However when we don't have enough amounts of data to perform the learning process of genetic programming, we have to reduce input parameter(s) or increase number of learning or training data. In this study, an enhanced data mining method combining Genetic Programming with Self organizing map, that reduces the number of input parameters, is suggested. Experiment results through a prototype implementation are also discussed.

Short Term Spectrum Trading in Future LTE Based Cognitive Radio Systems

  • Market means of spectrum trading have been utilized as a vital method of spectrum sharing and access in future cognitive radio system. In this paper, we consider the spectrum trading with multiple primary carrier providers (PCP) leasing the spectrum to multiple secondary carrier providers (SCP) for a short period of time. Several factors including the price of the resource, duration of leasing, and the spectrum quality guides the proposed model. We formulate three trading policies based on the game theory for dynamic spectrum access in a LTE based cognitive radio system (CRS). In the first, we consider utility function based resource sharing (UFRS) without any knowledge of past transaction. In the second policy, each SCP deals with PCP using a non-cooperative resource sharing (NCRS) method which employs optimal strategy based on reinforcement learning. In variation of second policy, third policy adopts a Nash bargaining while incorporating a recommendation entity in resource sharing (RERS). The simulation results suggest overall increase in throughput while maintaining higher spectrum efficiency and fairness.

Identification of factors of Hard and Soft Human Resource Management Practices

  • The Human Resource (HR) system comprises of various interrelated HR practices that forms the bundles. These bundles of Human Resource practices impact the organizational performance. The hard and soft HR bundles are the two sets of the same continuum that describes the strategic approach of the HR system. The purpose of this study is to identify the hard and soft HRM practices from the literature and then empirically test them with the help of factor analysis. The study is conducted on the service industry employees in India. The survey includes the employees from the middle and top-level executives of the service firms. The sample size for the study is 160. Principal component analysis with VARIMAX rotation and Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used to obtain the results. The data analysis was done on SPSS V.20 and AMOS V.22. The results provide knowledge of the HR practices under the hard and soft HRM bundles implemented in the service industry.

  • An expert network administrator is not always stationed as disasters happen. In that case, it is desirable that a novice administrator is capable of taking part in network recovery operations as well. In this paper, an agent-based network management system in emergency situations is presented. We use the Active Information Resource based Network Management System (AIR-NMS) to relieve the human administrator from parts of her management tasks and present an interface that remotely can control this management system. The effectiveness of the system is demonstrated by experiments using a prototype system.

  • Most countries recognize traditional knowledge as an economical resource in recent years, and so are actively participating in WIPO discussions for making sure of their intellectual property rights. In this study, the definition of traditional knowledge was discussed for making clear its categories and relative subjects. A tool for Korean Traditional Knowledge Resource Classification(KTKRC) was developed for putting the data of the resources in order, and was indispensable for searching for and examining cultural artifacts within the system of international intellectual property rights. KTKRC covers comprehensively our various traditional knowledge resources and has a similar structure to IPC for international searching, examining, and information exchange. KTKRC consists of a section of traditional knowledge(A), and three subsections: production technology(A0), living technology(A2) and creative technology(A4). The subsections include 8 classes, 28 subclasses, 105 groups, and a great number of subgroups.

  • 대학의 지식조직이다. 지식경영을 통해 지식자원을 가장 효율적이고 효과적으로 활용할 수 있는 조직임에도 불구하고 이를 적절히 전략화하지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 따라서 학생, 교수, 직원 그리고 대학관계인을 중심으로 한 지식그룹을 지식커뮤니티로 통합하여 지식이전 및 공유 나아가서 지식창출이 활성화될 수 있는 대학환경이 필요하다. 이를 위해 지식사용자의 개인별 정보맞춤서비스와 다양한 자료를 효과적으로 접근하고 관리할 수 있는 지식포털기술을 이용하여 대학의 “지식” 자원을 극대화할 수 있는 시스템을 구축할 필요성이 있다. 이러한 시스템의 구축은 새로운 지식공유 및 유통환경, 지식창출문화 그리고 대학커뮤니티의 활성화에 기여할 수 있으며 대학의 이미지제고와 경쟁우위의 대학발전을 이룩할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 지식기반사회에 있어서 과학기술지식정보는 국가의 부존자원이며 경쟁력의 원천이라 할 수 있다. 또한 연구자의 연구 및 기술개발에 있어서 과학기술지식정보 중요성이 날로 증가하고 있으며, 고객의 요구도 다양화 되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 과학기술지식정보를 이용하고 있는 고객의 다양한 요구 및 의견을 적극적으로 반영하여 효율적인 고객 대응 전략을 수립하고, 이를 기반으로 상시적인 고객 서비스 응대, 고객 모니터링, 서비스 개선, 고객 만족도 제고를 위한 표준화된 통합 Helpdesk 시스템을 개발하였다.

  • It is a challenging task to introduce and apply a theoretical concept like KM (Knowledge Management) to the corporate management by formulating such notion into a computer-based system. Apart from that, a company who suffers financially will be very much reluctant to employ KM, a solution that will not make an immediate impact on profit generation. Nonetheless, the perception of life-long workplace is being replaced by that of life-long career in today's society, and consequently it has become a key importance for the management to minimizing the Joss of valuable knowledge that results from frequent shift of manpower. Furthermore, knowledge is now regarded as a key to corporate competitiveness as its value has become a more important factor than that of physical resource in estimating a company's value. It is therefore necessary to transform such implicit knowledge that one possesses in his/her mind to a formation so that a company can achieve the ultimate goal of implementing KM: increase of profit and cost reduction. The objective of this research is to look into the case examples of the way in which Samsung Electronics implemented KM and help set the direction for those companies who consider employing KM into their corporate system.

  • 유전체 염기서열 분석비용이 크게 감소하면서 유전체 정보 생산이 본격화됨에 따라 시스템 생물학 기반의 통합 및 표준화된 오믹스 데이터베이스 구축이 필요하다. 이에 따라 현재 진행중인 연구 수행의 결과로 얻어진 차세대유전체서열(NGS) 및 전사체(transcriptome) 등의 대용량 정보를 수집하였고 이를 표준화 형식에 맞춰 농업생명공학정보센터(NABIC)에 등록하였다. 또한 농업생명자원 생물정보를 품목별, 개체별로 통합 저장소를 구축하였으며 농업생명자원 생물정보를 품목별, 개체별로 통합 저장소를 구축하였다. 농업생명공학정보센터 오믹스 정보등록시스템 서비스와의 연계 및 확충작업을 하기위해 시스템 기능 개선 및 유지보수 작업을 수행하였다.

Toward A Reusable Knowledge Based System

  • Knowledge acquisition, maintenance of knowledge base, and validation and verification of knowledge are the addressed bottlenecks of building successful knowledge based systems. Along with the increment of interesting in the knowledge based systems, the organization needs to develop a new one although it has a similar one. This causes several serious problems including knowledge redundancy and maintenance of knowledge base. This paper present three models of the reusable knowledge base which might be the solution to the above problem. Three models are : 1) multiple knowledge bases for a single AI application, 2) multiple knowledge bases for multiple AI applications, 3) a single knowledge base for multiple AI applications. A new approach to build such a reusable knowledge base in a homogeneous environment is presented. Our model combines the essential object-oriented techniques with rules in a consistent manner. Important aspects of applying object-oriented techniques to AI are discussed (inheritance, encapsulation, message passing), and some potential problems in building an AI application (decomposition technique of knowledge, search time, and heterogeneous environment) are pointed out. The models of a reusable knowledge base provide several amenities : 1) reduce the knowledge redundancy, 2) reduce the effort of maintenance of the knowledge base, 3) reuse the resource of the multiple domain knowledge bases, 4) reduce the development time.
