This develops a new and advanced S/S knitwear material made of linen/bamboo blended yarn. Linen/bamboo knitted fabrics were compared with linen/polyester knitted fabrics in terms of appearance as well as physical and comfort properties. Rib knitted fabrics were remarkably thicker than plain knitted fabrics. Knitted fabrics based on polyester yarns were heavier than those based on bamboo yarn. The porosity decreased in the following order: linen 100% > bamboo 100% > polyester 100%. The drape properties of bamboo 100% and linen/bamboo knitted fabrics were excellent. The pilling resistances of linen 100% and linen/bamboo knitted fabrics were excellent. The highest and lowest air permeability was observed in the case of linen/bamboo knitted fabrics and polyester 100% knitted fabrics, respectively. The instant cool-feeling was enhanced as the bamboo yarns were blended. The thermal conductivity of linen 100% knitted fabrics was the highest and the thermal conductivity of linen/bamboo knitted fabrics was higher than linen/polyester knitted fabrics. Bamboo 100% knitted fabrics showed a higher moisture regain than polyester 100% knitted fabrics. The results confirmed the superior appearance and comfort of a novel S/S knit wear material made of linen/bamboo knitted fabric.

The purpose of this study was to determine the purchasing behavior of knitted apparel consumers. Differences in knit product evaluation criteria according to consumer characteristics, such as gender, age, and interest in knit products also were reported. Male and female consumers participated in the study. Quota sampling was used and data from 463 questionnaires were analyzed. Descriptive statistics, $X^2$ analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and post-hoc test were conducted. Results indicated that 65.4 percent of respondents did not discern between knits and woven products. Cardigan was the most preferred knitted product category. Most of the respondents purchased knitted apparel themselves, got product information at stores, spent less than 100,000 won for a single knitted product and went to department stores to buy knitted apparel products. Some 62.5 percent of respondents reported wearing the product less than four year. Consumers who are more interest in knitted apparel also considered such criteria as external attributes, quality, and aesthetics to be important. Respondents who discerned between knits and woven considered quality most important. Female respondents considered quality and aesthetic criteria more important; respondents in their twenties considered aesthetic criteria most important; and respondents in their thirties through fifties considered external criteria most important. Results of this study provide a basis for understanding knitted apparel consumers' purchasing behavior.

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of export clothing articles in Korea. For the purpose, the proportion and unit price of each export clothing articles were analyzed to each important market. The results of the study were as follows : First, on the proportional aspect, to all world market, SITC 845(Articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, n.e.5.), 842(Women's clothing, of textile font knittedabrics), and 841 (Men's clothing of textile fabrics, not knitted), 844(Women's clothing, of textile, knitted or crocheted) and 846(Clothing accessories, of textile fabrics), 848(Articles of apparel, clothing access., excluding textile), 843(Men's or boy's clothing, of textile, knitted, crocheted.) in order were in large exported, after the mid-1990's. To each important market, the proportion of export clothing articles was varied. Second, on the unit price aspect, to all world market, the unit price of export clothing articles went down slightly. For each item, 844(Women's clothing, of textile, knitted or crocheted) went up a little, 843(Men's or boy's clothing, of textile, knitted, croche.) and 845(Articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, n.e.s.) went down a little, 841(Men's clothing of textile fabrics, not knitted), 842(Women's clothing, of textile fabrics), 846(Clothing accessories, of textile fabrics) and 848(Articles of apparel, clothing access., excluding textile) went down greatly. The unit price to industrialized countries, newly industrializing countries, developing countries in order was high, reflecting the developing stage of each nation's.

Clothing exports of Korea have been steadily declining since 1990, but its international competitiveness will be continued in the future because of its history and technology. The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of knitted clothing exports of Korea compared to China. Statistical data of knitted clothing articles(HS 61) $2000{\sim}2008$ were used for analyses. The results of the study were as follows: First, the proportion of knitted clothing export out of the total clothing export has been consistently increased in Korea and China both, it is similar now. Second, export articles of large proportion are different between Korea and China. Socks, gloves and fancy goods became major export articles in Korea and men's and women's clothing in China in late 2000's. Third, the unit price of Korean export clothing is higher than that of Chinese from two to ten times. Generally the growth rate of unit prices of Korea outpaced that of China. The results of this study will help Korean export firms to develop competitive export articles and make out export strategy.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the production process of 12 domestic companies that manufacture women's knitwear and the degree of satisfaction of the middle-anged women who purchase knitted Jacket. Three hundred questionnaires were distributed and a total of 276 usable data were coded for further statistical analysis including descriptive statistics (frequency and one way- ANOVA test) by using SPSSWIN 10.1. It was found that the price satisfaction of knitted jacket was low because of imported yarn and production methods(i .e., 1inking, sewing, etc.). Therefore, it is necessary to develop that domestic yam and improve production methods. Another finding ot the study demonstrated that the size of knitted jacket was a little tight for the middle-aged women on the circumstance size(i.e., bust, waist, etc.) while majority of the respondents felt that the areas such as sleeve and shoulder seemed a little bit longer than their size. It should be designed in such that the physical characteristics of knitted materials are considered when pattern is made. Clothing companies should make an effort to effort more information about the knitted jacket and develop pattern suitable for the body shape of the middle-aged women.

This study evaluate the effect of laundering on the deformation of knitted spandex/cotton fabrics compared with that of knitted cotton fabrics. Commercial knitted spandex/cotton and knitted cotton fabrics for T-shits were laundered in a drum-type washing machine and dried in a tumble dryer. Wale spirality, shrinkage, elastic recovery and surface contour of knitted fabrics were investigated under different laundering conditions: washing temperature, presoaking time and washing cycles. Knitted spandex/cotton fabrics had a lower angle of spirality than knitted cotton fabrics. After the first washing cycle, the angles of spirality of all the fabrics had decreased greatly. Knitted cotton fabric of low density deformed more than that of higher density. Knitted spandex/cotton. fabric of low density shrank less, because of the greater extension given during heat-set. Permanent elongation length at the 80$\%$ extension was longer than at the 50$\%$ extension, and the knitted spandex/cotton fabric which was expanded greatly during heat-set had a lower elastic recovery rate. The surface appearance of the knitted spandex/cotton fabrics was worsl~ than that of the knitted cotton fabrics before laundering and after repeated laundering, because of the much protruded cotton fibers from the yarns.

This article is an analysis of the fit preference of the knitted jacket according to body types for 30's and 40's adult women through a comparison of real and virtual fit. A five point likert scale was used to evaluate the degree of the preference of real and virtual fit. The data were analyzed with t-test and ANOVA using statistical program SPSS 17.0. The results are as follow. 1. The real and virtual fit preference of the knitted jacket according to body types indicates that respondents preferred pattern 2 for body type N than the rest of the patterns; however, respondents preferred pattern 3 for body type A and H. 2. There were no significant differences between real and virtual fit preference. 3. It is necessary that the knitted jacket follow a similar size tolerance like a woven jacket. The results show that the next generation of virtual try-on systems need the development of a minus clothing ease scale.

This study investigates the wearing trend and purchase facts for adult females in their 20s and 30s along with their fitting satisfaction for woven jackets and circular knitted jackets. A questionnaire survey on consumers investigated satisfaction with jackets according to clothing materials and repair trend after wearing. Subsequently, a preference for circular knitted jackets was shown higher than woven jackets. Females in their 20s preferred woven jackets than those in their 30s; however, the latter preferred circular knitted jackets than the former. For woven jackets, they showed the highest satisfaction with size; however, for circular knitted jackets, they showed the highest satisfaction with fitting. In the question on their satisfaction by jacket part, satisfaction with circular knitted jackets was higher in all items except for bust measurement, bottom edge measurement, elbow circumference, shoulder width, and clothes length. Circular knitted jackets had lower repair rates than woven jackets and woven jackets had significant differences by age in satisfaction with back width. The research results indicate that females in their 20s and 30s who value fit preference and practicality will increasingly wear knit clothes. Therefore, we can address the fitting satisfaction requirement of females in their 20s and 30s by taking the clothing material properties of circular knitted clothes into consideration. In addition, further research is required on jacket patterns in consideration of clothing materials.

The industry-wide development of digital technologies has also affected the textile and fashion industries immensely. The applications of 3D technology, virtual reality, and/or augmented reality systems have helped to create novel fashion brands based on the marriage of IT and textile/fashion industries. 3D digital virtual clothing systems have been developed to help the textile and fashion industries in terms of the planning, manufacturing, marketing and sales sectors. So far, most of the development effort for the 3d virtual clothing systems has been focused on the woven fabrics. The characteristics of woven fabrics differ from those of knitted fabric. Since the physical structures and mechanical properties of the knitted fabrics are definitely different from those of woven fabrics, the simulation process for the knitted fabrics should follow different approaches. The loops in a knitted fabric deform easily. The deformation results in a readily stretchable fabric appearance. Cloth simulation mostly employs models that approximate the mechanical properties of linear elastic planes. This simulation scheme does not, however, describe well enough the behavior of knitted fabrics, which deviate largely from the linear isotropic material characteristics. This study aims at characterizing the tensile deformation and surface textures of a knitted fabric product. Tensile deformation curves for the wale, course, and bias direction are analyzed. The surface texture of the knitted fabric is analyzed by using a 3-dimensional scanning device.

This study presents basic knitted fabric data on the use of ply yarn with rayon yarn and eco-friendly/high-valued Hanji yarn. Physical properties (gauge, thickness, burst strength, air permeability, stiffness, Qmax, dimensional stability and surface image) of Hanji 100%, rayon 100% and Hanji/rayon 50:50 knitted fabrics are investigated. The results are as follows. Course direction of gauge decrease in the following order: rayon 100% > Hanji/rayon 50/50 > Hanji 100%. In addition wale direction of gauge decrease in the following order: Hanji 100% > Hanji/rayon 50/50 > rayon 50/50. Thickness and air permeability decrease in the following order: Hanji 100% > Hanji/rayon 50/50 > rayon 100%. Burst strength decrease in the following order: rayon 100% > Hanji 100% > Hanji/rayon 50/50. Stiffness and Qmax decrease in the following order: rayon 100% > Hanji/rayon 50/50 > Hanji 100%. Laundry for dimensional stability is knitted fabric with Hanji/rayon 50/50 than rayon 100% and Hanji 100% improved using neutral detergent and stable at $20^{\circ}C$. From surface image observation, the cracks of Hanji 100% and fibrils of rayon 100% decrease when using knitted fabric with Hanji/rayon 50/50.
