Tourists' Preferences and Satisfaction of Tourism Activities in Rural Jeju (제주 농촌관광 방문객의 체험프로그램 선호 및 만족도 연구)

  • Rural tourism is a multi-faceted activities rather than farm-based tourism only. The study aims to investigate the profile of a consumer for each type of preferences of tourism activities. Data were collected from 308 people by field survey in rural areas. The study indicates that consumer satisfied with farmer's kindness and farmer's knowledge above all difference factors on tourism activities. The most preferences of activity's factor is program's quality which is include variety, characteristics, interest without regard to sex, age, companion. Both 'walking on the road' and 'climbing the Orum' is more likely than difference activities. It is important to have information on the characteristics and preferences of the consumers of the different types of tourism activities to develop program in rural tourism.

  • This study was conducted in search of the acceptance level of air traffic services from domestic airlines pilot's perspective in comparison with male controllers and female controllers. Pilots responded to the questionnaire that female ATC controllers are of significance to male controllers in terms of pronunciation, accuracy of English grammar, attitude and kindness. Besides, The ICAO aviation English proficiency level four test revealed that female controllers were found superior to male controllers in terms of rating scales of holistic descriptors.

  • The Korean hospital industry is rapidly changing along with the competition among hospitals. Until recently it was easy for hospitals to profit even without efficient management and competitive strategies. However, the increasingly intensive competition endanger their profits but also their survivals. Hospital managers have no choice but to seriously consider competitive management and marketing strategies to remain alive and prosper. This study introduces a useful methodology--perception map drawn using multidimensional scaling--for developing competitive strategies, and illustrates its application to developing a perception map of 9 Seoul-based general hospitals. We also suggest the concepts and examples of positioning strategies and patient satisfaction management system. One of the interesting findings is that the Samsung medical center which opened less than a year ago is ranked first in most aspects such as kindness, facilities, waiting time, and parking, and the second in clinical performance just after the Seoul National University Hospital.

  • It is widely known that patients' utilization pattern for medical care facilities and the patientflow are influenced by multi-factors, such as demographic characteristics, structural characteristics of society, socio-psychological characteristics(value, attitude, norms, culture, health behavior, etc.), economic characteristics(income, medical price, relative price, physician induced demand, etc.), geographical accessibility, systematic characteristics(health care delivery system, payment methods for physician fees, form of health care security, etc.), and characteristics of medical facilities(reliability, quality of medical care, convenience, kindness, tec.). This study was conducted to research the mechanism of patient-flow according to changes of health care system(implementation of national health insurance, health care referral system and regionalization of health care utilization, etc.) and characteristics of medical facilities(ownership of hospital, characteristics of medical services, non-medical characteristics, etc.). In this study, the fact could be ascertained that the patient-flow had been influenced by changes of health care system and characteristics of medical facilities.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the perception of students who have been clinical training course toward the medcal service of radiotechnologist. To perform this purpose, a total 313 students at 6 different colleges were interviewed with questionnaires from March to June in 1998. The results of the study are as follow : 1. The most of all students were answered that the working area and equipments were very clean. There were no differences between the types of the hospital. 2. 46.3% of students were answered that the radiotechnologists had a good releationship with the doctors. 3. 81.1% of students were answered that the radiotechnologists explained very kindly to the patients about the treatment processes. 4. There were a little differences between the female and male students about the degree of professional knowledge and their kindness. The data were analysed and processed by several advanced statistical techniques of SPSS/PC+ program version 7.5.

The Effect of Emotional Labor on Stress Coping Style and Psychological Burnout among Call Center Employees

  • The aim of this study is to measure the degrees of emotional labor and to empirically analyze how emotional labor affects individual's stress coping style and psychological burnout. The results were as follows. First, the call center employees were actually experiencing emotional labor and it was shown that the deep acting was higher than the surface acting. Second, the degree of experiencing stress coping style and psychological burnout appeared differently depending on the socio-economic variables of the employee. Third, despite the differences in the direction, there is a correlation between emotional labor, stress coping style, and psychological burnout. Fourth, the characteristics of the employees and emotional labor clearly affected stress coping style and psychological burnout. Therefore, companies will have to provide various psychological treatments and training programs for call center employees, and a change in social awareness, where people take the service industry workers' kindness for granted, is required as well.

  • In the political and economic circles of our society, the security and secretary is always accompanying the society leaders, like shadows. The job of the security and secretary is a very difficult one that requires comprehensive and extensive capability and talent. From results of the prior studies, qualities of the security and secretary are divided into three groups. i.e. personal qualities, mental qualities and physical qualities. Each quality can be summarized as follows. Firstly, personal qualities mean honesty, responsibility, initiative, work ethic, sense of duty, modest attitude, kindness and loyalty. Secondly, mental qualities represent agility & composure, judgement, adaptability, memory, prediction, accuracy & reliability, observation and secret. Finally, physical qualities such as health, cleanliness, decent appearance, good feeling voice, physical strength and Martial arts for Protection. The security and secretary equipped with the above three requisites can be said to be the most ideal the security and secretary whom this age want and need.

A Study on Word-of-Mouth Communication of Hairshop Customers (헤어 샵 이용 소비자의 구전 커뮤니케이션에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate that positive and negative word-of-mouth informations getting hairshop customers have influence on visiting intention of potential consumers. Data were collected from 354 university or college women. The results showed as follows; First, positive word-of-mouth informations that consumers have experienced in using hairshop were employee altitude/technique, consideration in customer's situation, kindness, saving of time/additional service, facilities, rational price, gift service/benefit in conditions of location. Second, negative word-of-mouth informations that consumers have experienced in using hairshop were inconsistent service, service focus on non-customers, irrational price/technique insufficiency/ inadequate compensational system, irrelevance of face-to-face management. Third, in getting positive word-of-mouth informations, consideration in customer's situation, rational price and gift service/benefit in conditions of location, consumers had visiting intention, and in getting negative informations, irrational price/technique insufficiency/inadequate compensational system, consumers had no visiting intention.

A literature study about utilization of oriental medical services (한방의료 이용에 대한 문헌적 고찰)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to analyze and summarize the utilization of oriental medical services in korea. Methods : From 3 Korean databases (National Assembly Library, Korea Education Research Information Sharing Service, and National Discovery for Science Leaders), published between 2001 and 2011, we were obtained 17 studies that involved the utilization of oriental medical services. Results : We found that women, elderly patients, and patients with low education levels and those with musculoskeletal and cerebrovascular diseases preferred to use oriental medical services. Other variables such as trust and kindness of staff and positive perceptions of the treatment effect were found to be significant determinants for utilizing oriental medical services. Conclusions : The utilization of oriental medical services would be related with gender, age, education levels and diseases. Also to confirm the reasons for patients to choose oriental medical services, further studies should be conducted using the highest methodological standards.

A Study on Recognition Level of the People on Oriental Medical Services and the Need for its Improvement (한방의료서비스에 대한 인식도 및 개선요구도)

  • This study was conducted to examine the recognition level of the people on oriental medical Services and the need for it's improvement. Data were collected from 1174 residents in Daegu metropolitan city and Gyungbuk province. According to the satisfaction level with each items of oriental medical services, the respondents had positive views on efficacy, kindness, and side-effects. They, however, had negative view on the cost of oriental medical services. In regarding to the priority of improvement of oriental medical system, 'expansion of insurance benefit package' ranked first. Followed by 'safety of herbal medicine(heavy metal/pesticides)', 'improvement of scientific methods and diagnostic technique' etc. For the further development of oriental medical services in the consumer - focused and evidenced-based health care environment, much attention to implement relevant health policy reflecting user's need positively should be made.
