Dynamical expansion of H II regions plays a key role in dispersing surrounding gas and therefore in limiting the efficiency of star formation in molecular clouds. We use analytic methods and numerical simulations to explore expansions of spherical dusty H II regions, taking into account the effects of direct radiation pressure, gas pressure, and total gravity of the gas and stars. Simulations show that the structure of the ionized zone closely follows Draine (2011)'s static equilibrium model in which radiation pressure acting on gas and dust grains balances the gas pressure gradient. Strong radiation pressure creates a central cavity and a compressed shell at the ionized boundary. We analytically solve for the temporal evolution of a thin shell, finding a good agreement with the numerical experiments. We estimate the minimum star formation efficiency required for a cloud of given mass and size to be destroyed by an HII region expansion. We find that typical giant molecular clouds in the Milky Way can be destroyed by the gas-pressure driven expansion of an H II region, requiring an efficiency of less than a few percent. On the other hand, more dense cluster-forming clouds in starburst environments can be destroyed by the radiation pressure driven expansion, with an efficiency of more than ~30 percent that increases with the mean surface density, independent of the total (gas+stars) mass. The time scale of the expansion is always smaller than the dynamical time scale of the cloud, suggesting that H II regions are likely to be a dominant feedback process in protoclusters before supernova explosions occurs.
The purpose of this study was to analyse the principles and methods of Taegyo-Singi with regard to emotion and to review basic informations on Taegyo programs for promoting prenatal development. Taegyo-Singi was analyzed as follows. First, the contents of Taegyo-Singi were classified into principles and methods of Taegyo. Second, the domains of emotion were categorized into emotional perception, emotional expression, emotional understanding, and emotional regulation based on the classification of Mayer and Salovey, and Moon. Third, the contents of Taegyo-Singi were classified into the four domains of emotion. Finally, the reliability and validity of the classification were obtained through inter-rater agreement and analysis of content validity. The results indicated that first, the principles of Taegyo presuppose parental influence on temperament formation, and that the emotional states of the mother in the prenatal and prepregnancy period is the most influential variable in a child's temperament formation. Second, the methods of Taegyo presuppose that the human mind interacts with their behavior. Therefore, through emotional support of family members, 'jon-sim (the serene mind)' and 'chung-sim (the mind from rectitude)' are the key methods of Taegyo. This means that the Korean tradition of Taegyo focused on the emotional domain of development, especially emotional regulation. This coincides with the emotion-focused temperament theory that individual differences in temperament reflect individual differences in emotion.

In this paper, a hierarchical authentication protocol is proposed to minimize authentication delay in proxy mobile IPv6 networks. The authentication function of the AAA server is distributed to the LMAs and the MAGs. If the LMAs or the MAGs have authentication information of the MNs, they authenticate the MN on behalf of the AAA servers. Therefore, the authentication delay is reduced. The AAA server is vulnerable to denial-of-service attack. If the AAA server is down, MNs cannot access the proxy mobile IPv6 network until they are authenticated. The proposed scheme reduces the load on the AAA server by distributing the authentication function to the LMAs and the MAGs.
The Paris agreement at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) emphasizes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and increase in energy consumption in all areas. Thus, an important aspect is energy saving in buildings where the lighting is a major component of the electrical energy consumption. This paper proposes a building energy management system employing visible light communication (VLC) based on LED lighting. The proposed management system has key characteristics including personalization and localization by utilizing such VLC advantages as secure communication through light and location-information transmission. Considering the efficient implementation of an energy-consumption adjustment using LED luminaires, this paper adopts variable pulse position modulation (VPPM) as a VLC modulation scheme with simple controllability of the dimming level that is capable of providing a full dimming range. This paper analyzes the VPPM performances according to variable dimming for several schemes, and proposes a VPPM demodulation architecture based on dimming-factor acquisition, which can obtain an improved performance compared to a 2PPM-based scheme. In addition, the effect of a dimming-factor acquisition error is analyzed, and a frame format for minimizing this error effect is proposed.

Cloud computing evolve as a cost effective business model for IT companies to focus on their core business without perturbing on infrastructure related issues. Hence, major IT firms and Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) are adopting cloud services on rental basis from cloud providers. Cloud Service level agreements (SLA) act as a key liaison between consumers and providers on renting Anything as a Service (AaaS). Design of such an agreement must aim for greater profit to providers as well as assured availability of services to consumers. However in reality, cloud SLA is not satisfying the parties involved because of its inherent complex nature and issues. Also currently most of the agreements are unilateral to favour the provider. This study focuses on comprehensive, 360-degree survey on different aspects of the cloud service agreements. We detailed the life cycle of SLA based on negotiation, different types of SLA, current standards, languages & characteristics, metrics and issues involved in it. This study will help the cloud actors to understand and evaluate the agreements and to make firm decision on negotiation. The need for standardized, bilateral, semantic SLA has also been proposed.
This paper discusses the measurement of frequency response functions for various dc-dc converters. The frequency domain identification procedure is applied to the measured frequency responses. The identified transfer functions are primarily used in developing behavioral models for dc-dc converters. Distributed power systems are based upon such converters in cascade, parallel and several other configurations. The system level analysis of a complete system becomes complex when the identified transfer functions are of high order. Therefore, a certain technique needs to be applied for order reduction of the identified transfer functions. During the process of order reduction, it has to be ensured that the system retains the dynamics of the full order system. The technique used here is based on the Hankel singular values of a system. A systematic procedure is given to retain the maximum energy states for the reduced order model. A dynamic analysis is performed for behavioral models based on full and reduced order frequency responses. The close agreement of results validates the effectiveness of the model order reduction. Stability is the key design objective for any system designer. Therefore, the measured frequency responses at the interface of the source and load are also used to predict stability of the system.
The Helically coiled tube Once-Through Steam Generator (H-OTSG) is a key piece of equipment for compact small reactors. The present study developed and verified a thermal-hydraulic design and performance analysis computer code for a countercurrent H-OTSG installed in a small pressurized water reactor. The H-OTSG is represented by one characteristic tube in the model. The secondary side of the H-OTSG is divided into single-phase liquid region, nucleate boiling region, postdryout region, and single-phase vapor region. Different heat transfer correlations and pressure drop correlations are reviewed and applied. To benchmark the developed physical models and the computer code, H-OTSGs developed in Marine Reactor X and System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor are simulated by the code, and the results are compared with the design data. The overall characteristics of heat transfer area, temperature distributions, and pressure drops calculated by the code showed general agreement with the published data. The thermal-hydraulic characteristics of a typical countercurrent H-OTSG are analyzed. It is demonstrated that the code can be utilized for design and performance analysis of an H-OTSG.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate theoretically the effect of residual stress due to welding in stress intensity factor of a plate containing the Model I Crack in different crack size and location, and on fatigue crack growth rate. The initiation of crack is found to be possible only in the region of tensile residual stress. The most dangerous crack has the values of d/b and a/b equal to about 0.6 and 1.0, respectively, where d/b is the ratio of distance from the crack to welding bead and the width of tensile residual stress region and a/b is the ratio of crack length and tensile residual stress region. The crack perpendicular to and on the line of welding bead and with a/b equal to about 0.6 has maximum stress intensity factor. The theoretical fatigue crack growth rate under residual stress and applied stress, which is obtained from Forman's Law by stress superposition, is relatively in good agreement with Glinka's[8] experimental value. The fatigue crack growth is shown to be retarded due to residual stress distribution.
This study has two objectives. One is developing the runoff model for Hoe-Dong Reservoir basin located at the upstream of Su-Young River in Pusan. To develop the runoff model, basic hydrological parameters - curve number to find effective rainfall, and storage coefficient, etc. - should be estimated. In this study, the effective rainfall was calculated by the SCS method, and the storage coefficient used in the Clark watershed routing was cited from the report of P.E.B. The other is the derivation of transfer function for Hoe-Dong Reservoir basin. The linear, discrete, input-output model which contained six parameters was selected, and the parameters were estimated by the least square method and the correlation function method, respectively. Throughout this study, rainfall and flood discharge data were based on the field observation in 1981.8.22 - 8.23 (typhoon Gladys). It was observed that the Clark watershed routing regenerated the flood hydrograph of typhoon Gladys very well, and this fact showed that the estimated hydrological parameters were relatively correct. Also, the calculated hydrograph by the linear, discrete, input-output model showed good agreement with the regenerated hydrograph at Hoe-Dong Dam site, so this model can be applicable to other small urban areas. Key Words : runoff, effective rainfall, SCS method, clark watershed iou상ng, hydrological parameters, parameter estimation, least square method, correlation function method, input-output model, typhoon gladys.

An infrared imaging method is proposed in which direct measurement of the spectral response of CCD sensors can be achieved through digital image processing. This method allows for a simple and economic method to detect the spectral sensitivity of commercialized CCD sensors. The key components of the apparatus are a monochromator, CCD-sample supporter and a personal computer equipped with a digital image processing systems. Tentative experimentation conducted on the commercialized CCD camera has resulted in a fairly consistent agreement with the theoretical model.
