  • The consciousness and eating habits of the housekeeper directly influence the stress level and health quality of the household occupants. In Korea, most housewives are in charge of dietary life. Accordingly, their attitudinal clusters toward dietary (eating) life were researched in relation to their stress and health. The research results showed that irregular eating habits cause stress. Therefore, it is necessary for housewives to have a regular eating habit. The results were as follows. The house wives' attitudes toward dietary life were categorized into 5 clusters: regular and speedy overeating, regular and frequent eating, regular and light eating, irregular and light eating, irregular and speedy overeating. The cluster of regular and frequent snacks was 24.3%. The cluster of irregular and speedy overeating caused the most stress. Especially the house wives' group belonging to the cluster of irregular and speedy overeating were under social and emotional stress, while the cluster of regular and light eating and the cluster of irregular and light eating were under concentration stress. The cluster of regular and frequent snacks and the cluster of irregular and light eating had negative effect on their health, while the cluster of regular and speedy overeating had negative effect on their family's health by their social stress.

  • The Physicochemical, sensory and cooking properties of functionally fortified rice with dietary fiber and chitosan were compared with regular rice when the rices were cooked with pressure and electric cookers. Moisture content of functional rice before cooking was 11.11%, which was lower than 13.72% in regular rice. Accordingly, moisture contents of functional rice samples cooked both with pressure and electric cookers were lower than those of regular rice. L value showing the degree of lightness of cooked rice was significantly higher in rice samples cooked with pressure cookers. The ${\alpha}$ value, the degree of redness and the b value, the degree of yellowness, were the highest in the functional rice cooked with an electric rice cookers. Textural measurement of hardness using a rheometer showed the highest value in functional rice cooked with a pressure cooker. The degree of gelatinization measured using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) before cooking showed higher onset gelatinization temperature ($T_0$) and peak gelatinization temperature ($T_p$) in functional rice compared with those in regular rice. The gelatinization enthalpy (${\Delta}H$) of functional rice was lower than that of regular rice, showing that functional foe had lower gelatinization energy compared with regular rice. When the samples were stored in a refrigerator for one week, the DSC showed faster retrogradation degrees in samples cooked with electric rice cooker, having significantly higher enthalpies of regular and functional rice cooked with electric cooked compared to those cooked with pressure cookers. The functional rice samples cooked with pressure cooker had higher consumer acceptance test values compared to those cooked with electric cookers.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing regular exercise of the elderly in discriminating regular exercise and non - regular exercise groups. Method: The subjects of this study were 167 elderly over the age of 60, living in a rural city in Korea. The data was collected by interview and self report questionnaire in 1999. The Cronbach 's alpha of scales used this study were .66 ~.97. Result: 1. There were significant differences in doing regular exercise between the perceived importance of the health(p=021), the perceived health status(p=.050), the perceived need of the exercise(p=000), the perceived importance of the exercise(p=.000), the intent of participation in the exercise program(p=.000), IADL score(p=.022), the perceived benefits of exercise (p=.000), the emotion of exercise(p=.000), HPLP(p=.000), the self efficacy(p=.001), the perceived benefits of health promoting behaviors(p= .011), the perceived barriers of the health promoting behaviors(p=.002), and the Internal locus of control(p=.021) of the elderly. 2. Variables which showed significance for discriminating regular exercise of the elderly in this study were the perceived need of the exercise(p=.000) and the perceived benefits of the exercise(p=.000). By using the combination of these variables, the possibility of proper prediction for predicting regular exercise group was 84.8 %, non - regular exercise group was 93.9%, and total Hit ratio was 89.4%. Conclusion: To improve exercise behavior in older adults, health care providers should focus of developing interventions to strengthen the perceived benefits, the perceived needs of the exercise.

  • Over a field k, every schur k-algebra is a cyclotomic algebra due to Brauer-Witt theorem. Similarly every projective Schur k-division algebra is itself a radical algebra by Aljadeff-Sonn theorem. We study the two theorems over a certain commutative ring, and prove similar results over regular domain containing a field.

  • The rank over a finite field of the adjacency matrix of a directed strongly regular graph is studied, with some applications to the construction of linear codes. Three techniques are used: code orthogonality, adjacency matrix determinant, and adjacency matrix spectrum.

  • Many hardware-based regular expression matching architectures have been proposed for high-performance matching. In particular, regular expression processors, which perform pattern matching by treating the regular expressions as the instruction sequence like general purpose processors, have been proposed. After instruction sequence and data are provided in the instruction memory and data memory, respectively, a regular expression processor can perform pattern matching. To use a regular expression processor as a coprocessor, we need the host interface to transfer the instruction and data into the memory of a regular expression processor. In this paper, we design and implement the host interface between a host and a regular expression processor in the DE1-SoC board and the application program interface. We verify the operations of the host interface and a regular expression processor by executing the application programs which perform pattern matching using the application program interface.

  • A *-ring R is called (strongly) *-clean if every element of R is the sum of a projection and a unit (which commute with each other). In this note, some properties of *-clean rings are considered. In particular, a new class of *-clean rings which called strongly ${\pi}$-*-regular are introduced. It is shown that R is strongly ${\pi}$-*-regular if and only if R is ${\pi}$-regular and every idempotent of R is a projection if and only if R/J(R) is strongly regular with J(R) nil, and every idempotent of R/J(R) is lifted to a central projection of R. In addition, the stable range conditions of *-clean rings are discussed, and equivalent conditions among *-rings related to *-cleanness are obtained.

  • The following results ale extended from P-injective rings to AP-injective rings: (1) R is left self-injective regular if and only if R is a right (resp. left) AP-injective ring such that for every finitely generated left R-module M, $_R(M/Z(M))$ is projective, where Z(M) is the left singular submodule of $_{R}M$; (2) if R is a left nonsingular left AP-injective ring such that every maximal left ideal of R is either injective or a two-sided ideal of R, then R is either left self-injective regular or strongly regular. In addition, we answer a question of Roger Yue Chi Ming [13] in the positive. Let R be a ring whose every simple singular left R-module is Y J-injective. If R is a right MI-ring whose every essential right ideal is an essential left ideal, then R is a left and right self-injective regular, left and right V-ring of bounded index.

  • A ring R is called generalized regular if for every nonzero x in R there exists y in R such that xy is a nonzero idempotent. In this paper, we observe some equivalent conditions for the generalized regular rings that are abelian in terms of idempotents, and we also investigate the primitivity of an idempotent for such a ring. By using the investigation, we characterize such a kind of rings that are noetherian by showing that an abelian generalized regular ring R is noetherian if and only if R is isomorphic to a direct product of finitely many division rings. We also observe some interesting consequences of our results.

  • In ring theory it is well-known that a ring R is (von Neumann) regular if and only if all right R-modules are flat. But the analogous statement for this result does not hold for a monoid S. Hence, in sense of S-acts, Liu (]10]) showed that, as a weak analogue of this result, a monoid S is regular if and only if all left S-acts satisfying condition (E) ([6]) are flat. Moreover, Bulmann-Fleming ([6]) showed that x is a regular element of a monoid S iff the cyclic right S-act S/p(x, x2) is flat. In this paper, we show that the analogue of this result can be held for automata and them characterize regular semigroups by flat automata.
