  • This study makes clear justification of contents of set in secondary school through the scientific consideration and contents consideration of curriculum about two points - lattice and ring - of set deal with 'number and operation'. In this process, we make clear the greatest common divisor, the least common multiple and operation of set, especially the meaning of symmetric difference, we suggest direction about constitution of contents of set in secondary school. This study helps to raise the specificity on the elements of textbook and presents the first step about the range of teaching in a construct of curriculum.

  • The dynamic response of a finite Bernoulli-Euler beam resting on a tensionless Pasternak foundation and subjected to a concentrated harmonic load is investigated in this study. This load may be applied at the center of the beam, or it may be offset from the center. Since the elastic foundation is assumed to be tensionless, the beam may lift off the foundation, resulting in contact and non-contact regions in the system. An analytical/numerical solution is obtained from the governing equations of the contact and non-contact regions to determine the coordinates of the lift-off points. Although there is no nonlinear term in the equations, the problem appears to be nonlinear since the contact regions are not known in advance. Due to that nonlinearity, the essentials of the problem (the coordinates of the lift-off points) are calculated numerically using the Newton-Raphson technique. The results, which represent the symmetric and asymmetric responses of the beam, are presented graphically in this work. They illustrate the effects of the forcing frequency and the beam length on the extent of the contact regions and displacements.

  • In this work, we rst introduce a class of analytic functions involving the Dziok-Srivastava linear operator that generalizes the class of uniformly starlike functions with respect to symmetric points. We then establish the closure of certain well-known integral transforms under this analytic function class. This behaviour leads to various radius results for these integral transforms. Some of the interesting consequences of these results are outlined. Further, the lower bounds for the ratio between the functions f(z) in the class under discussion, their partial sums $f_m(z)$ and the corresponding derivative functions f'(z) and $f^{\prime}_m(z)$ are determined by using the coecient estimates.

  • We present a complete description of all the extreme points of the unit ball of 𝓛s(2𝑙3) which leads to a complete formula for ║f║ for every f ∈ 𝓛s(2𝑙3). We also show that $extB_{{\mathcal{L}}_s(^2l^3_{\infty})}{\subset}extB_{{\mathcal{L}}_s(^2l^n_{\infty})}$ for every n ≥ 4. Using the formula for ║f║ for every f ∈ 𝓛s(2𝑙3), we show that every extreme point of the unit ball of 𝓛s(2𝑙3) is exposed. We also characterize all the smooth points of the unit ball of 𝓛s(2𝑙3).

  • In this paper, we study the Lie-generalized Fibonacci sequence and the root system of rank 2 symmetric hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras. We derive several interesting properties of the Lie-Fibonacci sequence and relationship between them. We also give a couple of sufficient conditions for the existence of the integral points on the hyperbola $\mathfrak{h}^a:x^2-axy+y^2=1$ and $\mathfrak{h}_k:x^2-axy+y^2=-k$ ($k{\in}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$). To list all the integral points on that hyperbola, we find the number of elements of ${\Omega}_k$.

  • The static response of a finite beam resting on a tensionless Pasternak foundation and subjected to a concentrated vertical load is assessed in this study. The concentrated vertical load may be applied at the center of the beam, or it may be offset from the center. The tensionless character of the foundation results in the creation of lift-off regions between the beam and the foundation. An analytical/ numerical solution is obtained from the governing equations of the contact and lift-off regions to determine the extent of the contact region. Although there is no nonlinear term in the equations, the problem shows a nonlinear character since the contact region is not known in advance. Due to that nonlinearity, the essentials of the problem (the coordinates of the lift-off points) are calculated numerically using the Newton-Raphson technique. The numerical results are presented in figures to illustrate the behaviours of the free-free and pinned-pinned beams under symmetric or asymmetric loading. The figures illustrate the effects of the shear foundation parameter and the symmetric and asymmetric loading options on the variation of the contact lengths and the displacement of the beam.

  • Finding an initial feasible solution on the central path is the main difficulty of feasible interior-point methods. Although, some algorithms have been suggested to remedy this difficulty, many practical implementations often do not use perfectly centered starting points. Therefore, it is worth to analyze the case that the starting point is not exactly on the central path. In this paper, we propose a weighted-path following interior-point algorithm for solving the Cartesian $P_{\ast}({\kappa})$-linear complementarity problems (LCPs) over symmetric cones. The convergence analysis of the algorithm is shown and it is proved that the algorithm terminates after at most $O\((1+4{\kappa}){\sqrt{r}}{\log}{\frac{x^0{\diamond}s^0}{\varepsilon}}\)$ iterations.

  • A direct solver for the Legendre tau approximation for the two-dimensional Poisson problem is proposed. Using the factorization of symmetric eigenvalue problem, the algorithm overcomes the weak points of the Schur decomposition and the conventional diagonalization techniques for the Legendre tau approximation. The convergence of the method is proved and numerical results are presented.

  • Consider the Convex Polygon Pm={Al , A2, ‥‥, Am} With Vertex points A$\_$i/ = (a$\_$i/, b$\_$i/),i : 1,‥‥, m, interior P$\^$0/$\_$m/, and length of perimeter denoted by L(P$\_$m/). Let R$\_$n/ = {B$_1$,B$_2$,‥‥,B$\_$n/), where B$\_$i/=(x$\_$i/,y$\_$I/), i =1,‥‥, n, denote a regular polygon with n sides of equal length and equal interior angle. Kaiser[4] used the regular polygon R$\_$n/ to approximate P$\_$m/, and the problem examined in his work is to position R$\_$n/ with respect to P$\_$m/ to minimize the area of the symmetric difference between the two figures. In this paper we give the quality of a approximating regular polygon R$\_$n/ to approximate P$\_$m/.

  • Earlier in 1935[12], M. S. Robertson introduced the class of quadrant preserving functions. More precisely, let Q be the class of all functions f(z) analytic in the unit disk $D = {z : $\mid$z$\mid$ < 1}$ such that f(0) = 0, f'(0) = 1, and the range f(z) is in the j-th quadrant whenever z is in the j-th quadrant of D, j = 1,2,3,4. This class Q contains the subclass of normalized, odd univalent functions which have real coefficients. On the other hand, this class Q is contained in the class T of odd typically real functions which was introduced by W. Rogosinski [13]. Clearly, if $f \in Q$, then f(z) is real when z is real and therefore the coefficients of f are all real. Recently, it was observed by Y. Abu-Muhanna and T. H. MacGregor [1] that any function $f \in Q$ is odd. Instead of functions "preserving quadrants", the authors [1] have introduced the notion of "preserving sectors".
