A Study of Performing Frequency, Importance, and Difficulty on Video Editor's Duties (영상편집 직무의 수행 빈도, 중요도, 난이도 인식에 관한 연구)

  • An advance in digital technologies and an introduction of HDTV contents production systems have made innovative changes in a TV broadcasting program and video production environment. The role of HD contents production experts is particularly getting more important to have a competitiveness in digital video production. It is necessary to develop a professional training and reeducation program that is based upon the perception of production experts. In this paper, we ed the perception of video production professionals and analyzed their requirements. With a DACUM job analysis method, 9 job duties and 71 tasks were retrieved to establish a research model. Then the performing frequency, importance, and difficulty in video editor's duties were analyzed and discussed.

On The Performance of A Suboptimal Assignment Policy in N-Queue m-Server System

  • Consider N queues without arrivals and with m identical servers. All jobs are independent and service requirements of jobs in a queue are i.i.d. random variables. At any time only one server may be assigned to a queue and switching between queues are allowed. A unit cost is imposed per job per unit time. The objective is to minimized the expected total cost. An flow approximation model is considered and an upperbound for the percentage error of best nonswitching policies to an optimal policy is found. It is shown that the best nonswitching policy is not worse than $11\%$ of an optimal policy For the stochastic model, we consider the case in which the service requirements of all jobs are i.i.d. with an exponential distribution. A longest first policy is shown to be optimal and a worst case analysis shows that the nonswitching policy which starts with the longest queues is not worse than $11\%$ of the optimal policy.

Memory Allocation in Mobile Multitasking Environments with Real-time Constraints

  • Due to the rapid performance improvement of smartphones, multitasking on mobile platforms has become an essential feature. Unlike traditional desktop or server environments, mobile applications are mostly interactive jobs where response time is important, and some applications are classified as real-time jobs with deadlines. When interactive and real-time jobs run concurrently, memory allocation between multitasking applications is a challenging issue as they have different time requirements. In this paper, we study how to allocate memory space when real-time and interactive jobs are simultaneously executed in a smartphone to meet the multitasking requirements between heterogeneous jobs. Specifically, we analyze the memory size required to satisfy the constraints of real-time jobs and present a new model for allocating memory space between heterogeneous multitasking jobs. Trace-driven simulations show that the proposed model provides reasonable performance for interactive jobs while guaranteeing the requirement of real-time jobs.

  • There are two targets to schedule parallel jobs in the Cloud: (1) scheduling the jobs as many as possible, and (2) reducing the average execution time of the jobs. Most of previous work mainly focuses on the computing speed of resources without considering other attributes, such as bandwidth, memory and so on. Especially, past work does not consider the supply-demand condition from those attributes. Resources have different attributes, considering those attributes together makes the scheduling problem more difficult. This is the problem that we try to solve in this paper. First of all, we propose a new parallel job scheduling method based on a classification method of resources from different attributes, and then a scheduling method-CPLMT (Cloud parallel scheduling based on the lists of multiple attributes) is proposed for the parallel tasks. The classification method categories resources into different kinds according to the number of resources that satisfy the job from different attributes of the resource, such as the speed of the resource, memory and so on. Different kinds have different priorities in the scheduling. For the job that belongs to the same kinds, we propose CPLMT to schedule those jobs. Comparisons between our method, FIFO (First in first out), ASJS (Adaptive Scoring Job Scheduling), Fair and CMMS (Cloud-Minmin) are executed under different environments. The simulation results show that our proposed CPLMT not only reduces the number of unfinished jobs, but also reduces the average execution time.

Mediating Effects of Self-leadership in the Relationship between Public Health Nurses' Organizational Culture and Their Job Performance (보건간호사의 조직문화와 업무성과 간의 관계: 셀프 리더십의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research is to enhance organizational competitiveness of health centers as well as private medical institutions serving as public health and medical institutions. It tries to help them to cope with the requirements from health consumers, to enhance public health nurses' job performance, Methods: After verifying the reliability of the tool, confirmatory factor analysis was used to detect a model, in which valid path coefficients exist among variables. The detected model was then selected as the subject and its validity was verified. Finally, a structural equation model was applied to verify whether the estimate was suitable for the purpose of this research. Results: As for the nursing organizational culture, the public health nurses considered relation-oriented culture the most desirable. As for the self-leadership, they considered self-compensation the most desirable. It was found that mediating effects of self-leadership was partially significant. Conclusion: To enhance job performance, it is necessary to make a transition from the organizational culture to the relation-oriented culture and it is also necessary to develop a program capable of reinforcing self-leadership. In addition, it is necessary to conduct a research to verify whether such a developed self-leadership program is influential on job performance enhancement.

Satisfaction of continuing education and need assessment according to job characteristics in emergency medical technicians (응급구조사의 업무 특성에 따른 보수교육 만족도 및 교육요구도)

  • Purpose: To assess the satisfaction of continuing education and need assessment according to job characteristics in emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 222 EMTs from May 28 to July 6, 2018. It consisted of questions on the method and need of continuing education, and satisfaction regarding education time, assessed using a 5-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, a chi-square test, and ANOVA were used to analyze the data. Results: The responses to questions on the method of continuing education (${\rho}=.000$), satisfaction of regarding the duration of continuing education (${\rho}=.029$), method (${\rho}$< .001), and topic (${\rho}=.000$) varied according to the differences in job characteristics of EMTs. Assessment and management of patients with multiple trauma ($4.17{\pm}.735$) emerged as the most important while license examination protocol for EMTs ($3.33{\pm}.968$) was rated the least important among topics for continuing education. Separation of continuing education (${\rho}$< .001), education method (${\rho}$< .001), education topic (${\rho}$< .001), and necessity of quality management of continuing education (${\rho}$< .001) differed according to the job characteristics of EMTs. Conclusion: It is important to provide a suitable program catering to the diverse requirements of EMTs. The education programs must be tailored to the needs of level 1 and level 2 EMTs separately. To improve the quality of education, it is necessary to evaluate the continuing effects.

Development of the curriculum for enhancing practical competence of nail beauty - Focused on the National Competency Standards - (네일 미용 역량기반 교육과정 개발 - NCS 기반으로 -)

  • The goal of this study was to develop a curriculum based on practice and job competency, reflecting opinions on the required job competence of nail practitioners and professionals related to nail beauty. Through in-depth interviews with nail experts, the research focuses on developing nail beauty competency-based curriculum and curriculum profiles that reflect practitioners' needs of job competence in the field. In-depth interviews with 11 field experts and surveys of 154 people were conducted to develop a competency-based curriculum for beginner nail hairdressers. The results of this study show that the existing 38 National Competency Standards (NCS) job competencies were reduced to 21 job competencies. In addition, based on the common opinions of experts who reflect the current trend, two tasks on "eyelashes" and "waxing" were added, and they were modified and supplemented with 23 core competencies. The development of a competency-based curriculum and educational programs for nail beauty was performed based on the requirements of the core competencies investigated and the development of a systematic map for the core competencies of beginner nail technicians and hairdressers. In conclusion, the need for professional education and training for nail hairdressers is growing, and it can be seen that a curriculum building multi-faceted abilities is needed for their qualifications as experts. This study found that it is necessary to develop interpersonal communication skills that include marketing elements other than practical skills such as personality and customer response methods in the nail beauty curriculum.

The desire of undergraduate and postgraduate students newly married housing requirements (대학생이 희망하는 신혼부부주택의 조건)

  • With the rise in national GNP, there has been a surge in people requiring adequate housing. The most who are in need of adequate housing are fresh graduates who have entered the job market, and newly-wed couples. Given the current economic condition it is difficult for young people and newly-wed couples to find reasonably affordable accommodations. In response to this, the government is trying to formulate a new policy, with the aim of helping young married couples find decent accommodation in response to the housing shortage. Research was performed last July with the aim of looking at the differences between the newlyweds' expectation of the idealistic housing and conditions. Questionnaires were distributed to undergraduate and postgraduate research students to find out their requirements. The questionnaire investigated the social background and the condition of the inhabited area; housing type internal facilities; the space required for housing; interior finishing, and storage facilities. The survey results were analyzed using SPSS and found that the design of small residential areas, the space requirements of more diversified individualized areas were the most important concerns for undergraduate and postgraduate research students. From the study we hope this will form a foundation for the design of the future housing social stratum. It is hoped that the current results and conclusions of this survey will be of help for the korean community to provide a direction and a positive input in the future design of newly married housing.

  • An integrated operation method of production control system for chemical-product job-shops is presented in this paper. A possible application of real-time control system is suggested to handle data from laboratory materials requirements to finished product shipment. A low cost intra-net is constructed to be used as the system network and applications are developed using Visual Basic. CGI programming is done to interface the applications with necessary databases.

A Study on the Trends of Librarian Recruitment in Korea and Overseas Using Data Mining (데이터 마이닝을 이용한 국내외 사서 채용 동향 분석)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the trends of librarian job recruitment in Korea and overseas. A total of 489 librarian job postings posted on the internet portal site "Saseo e-Ma-eul" were collected for the Korean data, and 6,600 data were collected from "ALAJobList" for the international data. The research period spans from January 2020 to August 2022. The data were subjected to regional distribution analysis, frequency analysis, and topic modeling. As a result of the study, the number of Korean librarian job postings was the highest in Seoul with 280, while California was the state with the highest number of job postings overseas with 662. According to the frequency analysis, the main task of Korean data is 'management' 23.42%, and the core competency is 'certificate' 16.61%. For overseas data, 'Library Service' is the main task of 8.72%, and 'Communication Skills' is the most important core competency of 10.13%. In topic modeling, five topics were identified for each area 4 in total, including Korean and international job description and requirements. The analysis results confirm that the duties and qualifications derived from Korean and international job postings for librarians are related to the core competencies proposed by major library associations such as the American Library Association (ALA) and the Korean Library Association.
